Dark twisted gamelok0812 | Dec. 12, 2013 | Review of Spec Ops: The Line
Spec Ops is probably one of the darkest FPS games in the market to date. As the game progress it unravel the main character and his squad's mission while it is slowly going down to hell. Many plot twists and a very surprising ending. Player have the ability to choose that will slightly change the game's ending a bit. The graphic of this game is very good especially with the vibrant feels of Dubai. Control can be a little sluggish with the cover and sprint mechanic which could lead to many deaths in FUBAR mode. Overall, a great FPS games with awesome plots and definitely a must get.
Interesting physic based puzzlerlok0812 | Dec. 9, 2013 | Review of Gravity Badgers
This is one of those puzzle game that offer physic as its main attraction for players to solve the puzzle and progress through the game. The gameplay is pretty fast and fun with its sometimes challenging puzzles. The sound is not that great outside of its intro anthem since later one all the musics just repeats itself. Control feels smooth and UI doesn't feel clunky at all. There is a few flaws of this game, there are many easy levels where sometimes require you to click once and you can compete the level. Also, one of the main thing, the physic system, sometimes when you need it, it doesn't work. Overall, an enjoyable puzzle game for people who interested in the genre.
Great classic re-releaselok0812 | Dec. 9, 2013 | Review of Typing of the Dead: Overkill
If you remembered House of the Dead games back in the days then you will find Typing of the Dead very similar. Instead of shooting with light gun you type to damage the zombies that are coming towards you. Similar to HOTD, you are on rail during the entire time as you progress through the game and screen will pop up with words or numbers for you to type to damage and kill the zombies. In addition, this game supports two players co-op so two players can type together and advance the game together via online. Overall, a nice game for typing exercise as well as a fun spin off away from HOTD.
Roguh start but still greatlok0812 | Dec. 9, 2013 | Review of SimCity (NA)
If you have been playing SimCity 4 for almost a decade and still looking for a sequel for the next SimCity series then look no further because SimCity got everything a SimCity fans need in this game. Although the game had a rough start due to the always online requirement caused a lot negativity but overall it is still a very solid SimCity game. In this installment there are many things added to the game like pollution, city interactions, citizen demands, and best of all multiplayer. Players can group together and aid each others city like different types of services or goods. Overall, a great installment and improvement for the SImCity series.
Epic romance storylok0812 | Dec. 6, 2013 | Review of Final Fantasy VIII
Another re-release of the Final Fantasy series comes to PC again. Final Fantasy 8 follows the traditional Final Fantasy formula with epic storyline, great character designs, awesome soundtracks, in addition, a romance story between Squall and Rhinoa. Gameplay follows similar to FF7 except more of a technology advanced theme. Combat is also the same with the turn based ATB with summons and magics. Many hidden features and unlockables for the players to rediscover as well as mini games to take your time off away from the main game. Overall, another great Final Fantasy masterpiece gets re-release for the PC.
Topdown shooterlok0812 | Dec. 4, 2013 | Review of Undead Legions
THis game is a topdown shooter mindless zombies killing game similar to All Zombies Must Die or Alien Swarm style. As the player, you have a choice between 4 distinct characters with unique abilities as well as powers to help you slaughter waves upon waves of zombies in the map. The game provides some hours of mindless slaughter fun with the modes it offers for both single and multiplayer. Nonetheless, this sort of genre is pretty flooded in the market and this game doesn't really stand out in the crowd making it just another generic top down zombies killing game. Overalll, a fun game to play with friends but just don't expect much of out it.
Not the manager game you thinklok0812 | Dec. 4, 2013 | Review of World Basketball Manager Tycoon
Games like Football Manager allows player to manage their own team as well as do many other extra stuffs along the game like tending or playing the actual game. This World Basketball Manager is the other way around. While there are many teams that allow the players to manage from there are very little interaction after the tutorial. After you learned the mechanics of the game and what you can control and that is it, you only have the ability to train your team and select the players for the play and you just watch things happen. Overall, a very disappointing manager game with so little interaction.
Outdone the originallok0812 | Dec. 1, 2013 | Review of Portal 2
Portal 2 continues the awesome experience from its original. The game improved in many aspect in terms of game play and game modes. The single player campaign continues from the first game and you are still the test subject and are tasked with testing chambers. New puzzle included many environment utilities like light rail, gravity beam, gels, etcs. One of the best thing of this game is its co-op mode. This mode have a separate storyline that tells the story after the single player mode. In addition, there are numerous maps available in the workshop for players to download and play making the gameplay experience limitless. Overall, if you enjoy a great puzzle game then definitely get this game and start thinking with Portal.
Great puzzle adventurelok0812 | Dec. 1, 2013 | Review of Portal
Portal was an experiment game to see if people would like this kind of genre, and people did enjoy the game but the game was sadly too short. As the player, you are tasked to control a Portal Gun that can shoot 2 portals, one for entrance and one for an exit. Then you placed in these chambers and are tasked to get from Point A to Point B. Along the way, there will be different types of obstacles, hostiles, and puzzles that you need to figure out how to get past with the Portal Gun. The game only have a single player campaign but a great campaign to play. Overall, a must get for anyone who enjoy a great puzzle game.
One package that will give you plenty hours of playlok0812 | Dec. 1, 2013 | Review of The Orange Box
This package contains a lot of great single player as well as multiplayer games. HL2, Ep1, and Ep2 continues the story of the original acclaimed HL series. Next you have Portal, a single player experience that challenge you by giving you an amount of chamber to test in, which are puzzles for players to solve. Lastly, one of the best multiplayer FPS for the PC, TF2, while this game is currently free to play, by getting this package will unlock the premium features of TF2. The game have numerous maps, game modes, mods, servers, as well as player base. Overall, this should be a pickup for any PC gamers.
Great co-op shooterlok0812 | Dec. 1, 2013 | Review of Left 4 Dead 2
This game is one of those really great shooting games when playing with other people. The game offers co-op play with 3 others in the group and tasked to go from point A to point B. Along the trail there will be massive amount of zombies as well as special ones with special skills that will do whatever it takes to kill you. THe game also offer competitive play where players can take side between the humans or the zombies and play similar to the story/co-op mode. L4D2 has a really high replayability as the game comes with many mods especially new maps for players to play in. Definitely worth getting if you are looking for a co-op zombie shooter.
Pretty fun racing gamelok0812 | Nov. 22, 2013 | Review of Ocean City Racing
This game is similar to any other racing game out there except it is taking place in an moderate size open world similar to Burnout Paradise. THe game features racing mode to pit the player against AI drivers, challenge mode to challenge player in time for completion, as well as a free roam mode to allow player to just simply drive around the world and explore. While there isn't anything innovating about this racing title the game itself is acceptable for racing fans but just don't expect NFS expectation with many customizations and multiplayer play.
Solitaire with a twistlok0812 | Nov. 21, 2013 | Review of Jewel Quest Solitaire 3
If you enjoy casual games like Solitaire within the Windows to spend some time to relax then give this game a try. This game mixes your average point and click adventure games that are filled with puzzles for the players to solved with solitaire as well as other mini games. The storyline is nothing special and would feel rather generic in the view of a point and click adventure game but the gameplay itself feels solid with the puzzles as well as the mini games. Overall, if you enjoy any of those genre then definitely give this a try.
Expansion to a best first person slasherlok0812 | Nov. 14, 2013 | Review of Chivalry: Deadliest Warrior
This DLC is an expansion to one of the best medieval theme first person slasher game, Chivalry. In the original you have 4 different classes each with their own arsenal of weapons that can be unlock and use in the playing field to slaughter the other team with. In this expansion, even more classes are added to the game as well as their specific loadout of weapons and accessories that can be unlocked. In addition, a new mode is introduced pitting several teams onto each other, similar to a FFA style but with team mechanic. Definitely a great addition to the game and must grab to expand the battlefield.
Great action gamelok0812 | Nov. 13, 2013 | Review of ENSLAVED™: Odyssey to the West™ Premium Edition (NA)
Enslaved uses the eastern Monkey King tales as character setting. The main character you play, Monkey, are forced to have a circlet stuck on his head by Trip and you cannot get too far away from her or you will die and if she dies you will die as well so it is your job to listen to her and get the job done. Gameplay is similar to any kind of action adventure games with the hack and slash elements similar to Darksiders series. As the story progress you will be able to upgrade Monkey with new skills and upgrades. The world itself is beautiful to explore but it is sometimes plagued with bad camera and horrible control but that didn't limit the game to be great. Definitely a must try for all action adventure fans.
Fun objective platformerlok0812 | Nov. 13, 2013 | Review of Poöf vs The Cursed Kitty
This game will be different from all of the platforming games that you have played thus far. In this game, you objective is to save kittens from harms by completing set objective within each stages. Once succeed in doing these objectives you will be awarded with tokens that you can use to upgrade Poof. The gamestyle of this game is pretty bright and the background gives off a nice vivid feeling. The pacing is well set as you won't have much time to just sit and wait for things to come at you, you will be put at a constant motion on getting things done in order to save the kittens. An interesting platformer indeed and definitely should give it a try.
Average theme park gamelok0812 | Nov. 13, 2013 | Review of Adventure Park
Not many theme park games in the market at the moment and this one is pretty unique and interesting. The game provide a tutorial mode for the player to learn the game with a downside of lack of variety in rides for your park. Once your park is established, you can ride the rides you made and see how it goes. The game could really buff up its sound system especially in voice acting. The game lacks a lot of voice in the tutorial, the visitors for your park as well as the narrator. Overall, an average game for anyone who enjoy a sim theme park game.
Great action gamelok0812 | Nov. 12, 2013 | Review of Rain Blood Chronicles: Mirage
Mirage is a 2D action game similar to Mark of the Ninja or Dust. Player transverse through a 2D side scrolling map with one of the 2 characters and combo through enemies for better scores. As the story progress, your character learns new moves to further utilize the combo system. A great addition to this game is the ability to coop with a friend but only limited to local. The story is great and moves at a really good pacing through the game and twists makes it even more surprising and likeable. One of the great game that shouldn't be missed to anyone who enjoy the side scrolling action genre.
Good fighting gamelok0812 | Nov. 11, 2013 | Review of Skullgirls
There really aren't much good fighter games in the recent years and the genre is always filled with Street Fighters or Mortal Kombat but here is another option. While it is a good game it is really just another generic fighter game, that means nothing bad and nothing innovative. The game utilize the same formula as other fighter games allowing the players go 1 on 1 or tag battles. Special moves and chain combos allow players to come up with their own air combo to score as much hits as possible. Overall, this is definitely a new option for fighter genre players to try.
Great improvement over its predecessorlok0812 | Nov. 4, 2013 | Review of Syberia 2
Syberia 2 improves in all aspect of its predecessor, one of the major flaw of Syberia was the bad storyline which it is an important factor when it comes to adventure games. Syberia 2 storyline is just great and immersive, the pacing of the game is well put so you will be into it almost immediately after a few minutes of gameplay. In addition, graphic and sounds remains the same impressive state compared to its predecessor. This is by far one of the great adventure game out there. If you were disappointed with the first game then do not worry about this one because it is well worth picking up.
Good story gamelok0812 | Nov. 4, 2013 | Review of Syberia
This is one of those point and click adventure game that usually emphasize heavily on storyline. Syberia have that but just not as great when compared to other top of the line adventure games. Storyline asides, the game also have some flaws on its puzzles as well as a bad ending. Good side of this game is that the graphic looks really good even after all these years of again and the sound and voice acting is top notch. If you can live past the bad story then definitely pick this up.
One of the best truck simlok0812 | Oct. 25, 2013 | Review of Euro Truck Simulator
This is by far one of the best truck simulation that is available in the market beside its sequel. You have different set of scenario that as a player to play which instructed you to drive from point A to point B, how to get there is up to you. During your drive you will visit many European cities and roads. One great aspect is the varieties of trucks that are available for the player to drive. Downside, the game have been released for a long time already so it has aged a lot and the graphic will not be as great as its sequel. But if you are looking for a relaxing experience where you can just drive from places to places then this is the game for you. A great time sink for anyone who just wants to take a break from their genre and play something different.
Great puzzle platformerlok0812 | Oct. 24, 2013 | Review of Ethan: Meteor Hunter
This is another one of those puzzle platformer similar to Braid with the toughness and frustration close to Super Meat Boy which it is perfectly normal considering both of these games are great in their own. In the game there are collectibles and a gauge for 100% for collecting all the meteor fragments, a perfect counter for completionists. The great things about Ethan is that you can respawn immediately after a death to to poor platforming as well as super challenging bosses. Downside of the game being a platformer, nothing innovative here, the stages can get repetitive and bland really quick. Overall, an acceptable platforming game.
Great Thief additionlok0812 | Oct. 24, 2013 | Review of Thief: Deadly Shadows
The third installment to the amazing Thief series. This time the game boosted its graphic with a new engine. While it is still considered to be outdated with current standards, it is still a great improvement nonetheless. Gameplay still remains the same as you are tasked to stealth your way through each missions to complete objectives. More gadgets and items are available for Garrett to use and steal from as well as techniques to learn. Great addition to the amazing franchise and must not be missed.
Another great additionlok0812 | Oct. 24, 2013 | Review of Thief II: The Metal Age
This series has done it again, this is a great addition to the stealth genre. The game continues on and gameplay remains to same as its predecessor. Again, this time you are tasked with another 15 missions that requires you to use your stealth techniques to get through. With the increased enemy AI, the game difficulty have increased as well, so no longer the surprised attacks. With new entries comes new gadgets for Garrett to use in an ever expanding environment and non linear missions compared to the original. Definitely a must get for series fans as well as stealth fans.
Best stealth game of all timelok0812 | Oct. 24, 2013 | Review of Thief Gold
Thief by far is one of the best stealth game ever created. You are tasked to complete objectives in each of the stages, along the path you can steal things and discover hidden things that are related to the story of the game. The game includes the previous update giving the game a total of 15 missions to explore. Each of these missions are linear but with different kind of gadgets will give you different opportunity to take down your foe. Overall, this is the first and the best stealth game that has ever been so successful as well as set the standards to all stealth genre to come.
Fun open world zombie slaughterlok0812 | Oct. 24, 2013 | Review of Dead Rising 2
Dead Rising 2 is a solid zombie killing action game. Gameplay similar to any action games out there that are set in a casino/mall. The world itself is pretty huge and have you go around places to complete quest and objectives. Along the story you will find other survivors that you can aid as well as item pieces that you can scavenge to make a brand new item to use to kill zombies. The storyline is pretty good and move at a great pace so it just doesn't feel like you are just mindlessly slaughtering zombies to waste your time. Definitely one of the best zombie action game and should pick it up by anyone who loves a good action game.
Great shooterlok0812 | Oct. 22, 2013 | Review of F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
FEAR 2 continues the story from the previous game, FEAR. FEAR was probably one of the best horror shooting game when it was released and it was very ground breaking in terms of gameplay and story. FEAR 2 hopes to continues that and it did. While everything pretty much remains the same so nothing really ground breaking on this entry but nevertheless it is still a very solid entry game to the series. The game constantly trying to scare you with creepy elements and sounds. Definitely must get for another who enjoy a horror shooter.

While not all of the DLCs are story based DLC the other 4 DLCs will get you vehicles and clothings to further customize your game with unique looks. Interesting racerlok0812 | Oct. 18, 2013 | Review of Truck Racer
There have been many racing titles out there and have the player drive different type of cars but this one seems to be rather innovative with racing with a truck. The game plays like any of your racing game from point A to point B within the track. The game itself packs more than dozens of tracks for players to race through as well as different types of modes that you will see along in other racing titles. One downside is the variety of trucks to choose, it just isn't much to choose from even though you have the ability to customize it. This racer is focus on more realistic racing like GT rather than Mario Kart type where you get items from fantasy world. Overall, an average racer with a special twist on racing with a truck.

Small DLC that adds more varietylok0812 | Oct. 14, 2013 | Review of Lords of Football USA DLC
This is a small DLC to the strategy Lords of Football. In the original game, the players get to build and command your own soccer team and have a choice to play these soccer matches. With this DLC, everything else stays the same with the only addition to giving the player the ability to play the USA Soccer League. Great small DLC that adds more variety to the game.
Telltale did it againlok0812 | Oct. 11, 2013 | Review of The Wolf Among Us
After the excellent Walking Dead from Telltale, they did it again with another episodic story game, The Wolf Among Us. The player play as the werewolf sheriff to investigate crimes. Similar to The Walking Dead, your choices in this game matter even more because of the introduction of the timing system of having you to go to 2 places and you can only choose one at the given time. Overall, another great story game by Telltale with great dialogues and lots of plot twists. Definitely give this game a try if you enjoyed The Walking Dead.
Truly worth to be called GOTYlok0812 | Oct. 11, 2013 | Review of Dishonored™ Game of the Year Edition (NA)
This GOTY edition for Dishonored is an all in one package for the game. The original game have you play as a body guard that was framed for murder and now you must seek revenge and clear your name. In each mission of Dishonored you have a choice of how you want to play, rather a stealth or straight up killing approach as well as if you want to slaughter anything you see or sneak pass them. Your actions will have consequences to the stages later on in the game. Gameplay and mechanic of this game is truly superb and it totally feels like an assassin with the superpower that were givens.
In this package it also comes with all the DLCs that the game has released. The Void Walker Arsenal is just an optional gears DLC for preorder from different vendors in one package. Dunwal City Trial is a challenge DLC with 10 setting challenging the player to complete a certain task. These two DLCs are very mediocre and serve little. The only story content DLCs are the remaining two. Knife of Dunwall have you play as the main antagonist of the game and see his side of the story after the prologue of the game and ends with Brigmore Witches to conclude his story and his ending depends on your actions as well. Overall, a truly immersive title that is well deserved to be called GOTY.
Preordered DLClok0812 | Oct. 11, 2013 | Review of Teleglitch: Guns and Tunes DLC
If you have preorder the original then you will not need to purchase this DLC as this is the reward for preordering the game. With this DLC it adds more weapons for you to use in this rogue like top down shooting game. These weapons really help a lot in the early stages of the game as it gives you more firepower and help you survive until the game give you more things to level the difficulty curve since if you die then you start over. This DLC also come with soundtracks but it can very easily missed. Overall, a great DLC to help starting players with the game.
Average DLC for an average gamelok0812 | Oct. 11, 2013 | Review of Painkiller Hell & Damnation: Demonic Vacation at the Blood Sea DLC
By this time you have most likely completed the original game and at least played some of the game DLCs. The game itself is not bad and at the same time nothing special giving it an average feeling from the shooter genre. With this DLCs more things are expanded in terms of story and gameplay. With the new story introduces new monsters and boss of course will give you a new weapon to play with. One good thing is that it supports co-op play so it will give you more fun when playing with a friend. This DLC itself last around 2 hours depending on how quick you slaughter things and explore around. Overall, a really average DLC for the game.
Best farming simulator expandedlok0812 | Oct. 10, 2013 | Review of Farming Simulator 2013 Titanium Edition
This is by far the best farming simulator game that is out in the market right now. The players have dozen of tools and vehicles to use to tend to your farm. By tending to your farm you raise crops and sell it to vendors to earn money to further renovate your farm. The game also features farm animals breeding that can also be sold to further your profit. Add in the ability to multiplayer co-op with a friend to manage a farm together makes this a great time sink. This edition also comes with the latest expansion that gives the American environment to the game. All in all, this is a great simulator game similar to Euro Truck 2. If you are looking for a great time sink simulator then this is another choice.
Continuing from the endinglok0812 | Oct. 9, 2013 | Review of Dead Space 3: Awakened (NA)
This DLC continues story from the ending of Dead Space 3. If you feel lost or wanted to find out what happened after the cliff hanger then this DLC will do the trick to tell you what happened and what will happen in Dead Space 4. This DLC is a little bit more interested and focuses more on co-op separation path meaning Issac and Carver will split up most of the time to complete an objective which makes it fun in co-op as you will no longer have a partner to back you up. This content DLC last less than 2 hours and it is mainly about the storyline while every mechanic remains the same.
Additional weapons and items for the fightslok0812 | Oct. 9, 2013 | Review of Dead Space 3: Tau Volantis Survival Kit (NA)
This DLC adds additional weapons and suits for the player to use in their fights. Each of these weapons have a different power and firing mode that is similar to guns crafted in the game except these are different from the one you get in the game. The suits also have different benefits that are similar to the one you unlock as you progress through the story. Final thing is the scavenger bot upgrade. This is reduce the time that scavenger bots comes back to you so you can scavenge items in the area quicker and faster. Not a special DLC but definitely something interesting to get to enhance yourself with in hard mode.
This Flashback did not give any flashback of the originallok0812 | Oct. 1, 2013 | Review of Flashback
This game is a remake of the original Flashback in the 90s. While the new and improved visual is a welcoming addition to the great and awesome original game but that alone couldn't save the game from being just another generic platformer. The game itself is very plain in terms of combat and the background. Although the storyline is great but that is it because it is only a remake of the original, it will not "wow" you another time as you have already experienced it before assuming you played the original release, if not, then this is just an generic platformer.
iOS TD portlok0812 | Oct. 1, 2013 | Review of Roaming Fortress
This is another one of those TD ported from the iOS. This is more of a revese TD similar to Anomaly. Your base is packed on the pack of a beast and it will slowly move forward as time goes. Your objective is to destroy the waves of enemies in front of you who will be blocking your path with troops that throws spears and shoot arrows. One unique aspect of this TD is that some weapon can only fire with manual control, so you click on what you want to kill instead of the traditional auto fire everything in front of you. The game itself packs a lot of levels as well as units. Definitely a great TD game for anyone who enjoy the genre.

Another year, another releaselok0812 | Sept. 28, 2013 | Review of Fifa 14 (NA)
This is one of those sports title that gets release once every year with little innovation and new things to add in each installment and this is the same as FIFA 14 but that doesn't make it a poor game because the game itself has been very solid and so is this entry. First the game no longer require you to learn the skills so you will be up and ready to go as soon as you start. If compared to the older installment of the game then this latest entry is definitely more polished in terms of gameplay and control. It feels more exciting to play when compared to PES series too. Definitely must pickup for any soccer fans.
Great strategic gamelok0812 | Sept. 28, 2013 | Review of Rise of Venice
This game is a really nice strategy game by Kalypso. The graphic of the game is top notch and the politic and family tree are deep and well designed. Best of all, newcomers to the genre can easily learn the game with its friendly tutorial since the game have a really deep learning curve but the tutorial really smooths it out. A few flaws of the game is the game still have a few bugs but that should be ironed out as this game was just released. Also there isn't much variety in terms of missions after a few you will find yourself doing the same thing again. Nonetheless, a great strategy title indeed to play.

Great sequellok0812 | Sept. 27, 2013 | Review of LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
This is a great sequel from the original Lego Batman. Not only the gameplay have tremedously improved by giving the game an open world feel but it also fixed one of the weak point of the original game, the lack of co-op feature. In Lego Batman 2, everything still remain the same in Lego formula in terms of graphic and combats. More characters will make appearance since it is now involved with DC comic heroes therefore more villains will also come into play. The co-op support finally hit the series and provide even more fun to the game by playing the game with any player. The roster of the game that the players can choose to play as is huge and each and every single one of those characters have unique abilities that the players can use to tackle the mission. Overall, one of the best Lego games to date and it is a must get for anyone who enjoy Lego franchise games with superheroes.
Great lego gamelok0812 | Sept. 27, 2013 | Review of LEGO Batman: The Videogame
Another great superhero series lego-ized by Lego. Nothing special here in terms of graphic that you haven't seen before rather you played Lego as a child or played any of the other Lego series games. This time you will be adventuring in the game in Batman universe, other allies and villains will also make cameo appearance in this game as well. One flaw of the game is the lack of co-op play since we all know Batman have side kicks. Overall, a fun action adventure game to play nonetheless.
Best truck simlok0812 | Sept. 27, 2013 | Review of Euro Truck Simulator Gold cap

You have different set of scenario that as a player to play which instructed you to drive from point A to point B, how to get there is up to you. During your drive you will visit many European cities and roads. One great aspect is the varieties of trucks that are available for the player to drive. But if you are looking for a relaxing experience where you can just drive from places to places then this is the game for you.
Spinoff from the serieslok0812 | Sept. 27, 2013 | Review of Super Sanctum TD
Super Sanctum TD (SSTD) plays like normal TD games which is vastly differ from the Sanctum series which have you play both FPS and TD at the same time. In SSTD, you are tasked to build towers and destroy waves of enemies from a top down perspective. The play style of Sanctum series still exist, like certain mobs are weak against certain defense and perks and bonuses that the player can unlock. There is also a world map that you can choose missions to play that serves as a hub that the player can respec their skill tree to plan ahead in order to maximize their damage for their next mission. Overall, a really fun TD game and a great spinoff from the series.
Another generic shooterlok0812 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Alien Rage Unlimited
This game is another one of those generic FPS. The good aspects of the game is its pretty graphic that is wasted due to the poor environmental design. Great mindless shooting against hordes of aliens that turned the game into a repetitive onslaught very quick. The bosses does not provide any type of challenge you simply just need to circle them even the trash aliens are harder. The difficulty of the game is harsh combine with glitch and bugs can become very unforgiving. Alien Rage have a lot of potential aspects but nothing delivered which in turns causing it to be just another generic shooter.

Great and fun naval war gamelok0812 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Leviathan: Warships
This game is a surprisingly fun naval war game. The controls are fluid and easy to pickup, customizations are rich, and light tactical aspects allow new players to the genre to come in and play. One great aspect of the game would be the multiplayer battles against people online that is when the game truly shine but the single player campaign is not bad at all. One downside is that during fights there are always the element of luck when firing your cannons, it is very unpredictable when if you will hit or miss so the tactics really play a heavy part of the game. Great game to pick up for anyone new to the tactical genre.

Solid DLC for a challenging gamelok0812 | Sept. 11, 2013 | Review of Alien Spidy: Between a Rock & a Hard Place
The original game already packed a good challenge as well as its massive number of levels offered. This DLC might be short but it also introduced another 3 more levels that will put the rest of the levels away in terms of challenging. THere is a mini story here in this DLC but that can be easily dismiss as this is really just a DLC that simply add a few more levels. Puzzle elements still exist in these levels so player might find something fun to tackle. All in all, a great piece of DLC that will of course challenge you.

All of the Dead Space games are listed as horror action game that will do its best to scare you and it will get the job done. The first Dead Space is no doubt a scary game but the downside is that the story progression is a little slow. The second installment might be the best in the series. It is one of the scariest action game to date and the story movement is well paced continuing from the original game. Lastly the third Dead Space continues from the last game but this time the scariness kicked down a notch and the game become more of a action game instead. Best Deus Ex packagelok0812 | Sept. 6, 2013 | Review of Deus Ex Pack
This package contains all the Deus Ex game starting from the original Deus Ex that was also the GOTY. The great aspect of the series is its gameplay element. Player can choose from playing as a stealth or an all out action game depending on the style. Of course, the game will reward you heavily if you play it in stealth and explore the environment. The timeline of these game release are slightly odd since Deus Ex Human Revolution is the prequel of the original Deus Ex and the Invisible War, so playing those 2 after playing HR might feel a little down grade in terms of graphic but the gameplay element and the story will feel the same if not better. Overall, a great franchise to get for anyone who enjoys conspiracy.
2012 GOTYlok0812 | Sept. 6, 2013 | Review of The Walking Dead & 400 Days DLC Pack
The Walking Dead was the GOTY in 2012. A simple point and click story game set in the zombie apocalytic world that is the prequel of the AMC TV series. In each of the episode, you are tasked to make decisions that will ultimately affect you in the later episodes. Each episodes are about 1 hour long and generally many choices to make giving the player more playability. There are very tiny action element but since this is not an action game and more of a interactive movie so keep in mind on that but nonetheless it is still a great story game. The package also include the newly added DLC that bridges this game to the upcoming game. Definitely a must grab if you love the TV series.
Best games from Ronimolok0812 | Sept. 6, 2013 | Review of Ronimo Games Collection
By far Ronimo is one of the best indie game dev at the moment. Just Awesomenauts itself will provide many hours of fun to the players. The game is similar to other other MOBA games in the market except it is in a 2D sidescrolling version. The game packs over 10 characters to choose from each with its own unique attacks and skills as well as other skills that can be unlocked through leveling up. Most of the MOBA games have a steep learning curve but Awesomenauts are easy to learn and quick to pick up making it a great game for anyone who wants to step into the MOBA genre.
Swords & Soldiers is also a solid strategy games. Similar to Patapon on the PSP you have a selection of troops to choose from each with varying abilities and you are tasked to conquer the enemies with a sidescrolling element and action. The battles are fun and the strategic elements are done top notch.

2D destruction mayhemlok0812 | Sept. 6, 2013 | Review of Renegade Ops Collection
Renegade Ops plays like Wasteland Angels where you are in control of a vehicle and your job is to destroy things in the mission. A lot of these destruction are what made this game unique. Besides destroying things in your vehicles you are also tasked with racing against time to the finish line. Gameplay of the game is pretty good with its top down view and the explosions tends to get over the edge and fills up the screen but thats what make this game great. Overall, a great title for anyone who are looking for some 2D actions.
Interesting platformerlok0812 | Sept. 6, 2013 | Review of Hell Yeah! Collection
A great platforming game by Sega. This is similar to any other 2D platformer out in the market. There are plenty of humors in the storyline that will satisfy you as well as many levels to play but most of them are generally very short and the difficulty are not that hard when compared to games like Super Meat Boy or Giana Sisters. This package also comes with 2 DLCs, one cosmetic DLCs for Ash to dress him up with unique gears from different Sega games. Another is mission package that adds another 50 missions to the game that are also very short. Definitely a great platformer if anyone enjoys the genre.
Sci Fi shooterlok0812 | Sept. 6, 2013 | Review of Binary Domain Collection
Binary Domain setting is great with its futuristic sci fi action. You will be constantly shooting at robots. The storyline is acceptable with its acceptable play time similar to any other shooter storyline with about 6-8 hours long. One aspect of the game is its rich cutscene and the ability to interact with AI teammate through the mic. You can give out command to them and they will build relationship with you in order to listen to your command during hectic situation. So if you always leave them hanging or use them as a shield the chance of them listening to you in the future will be low. Great game to play if anyone looking for a TPS game.
Best action games in Square ENixlok0812 | Sept. 6, 2013 | Review of Square Action Pack
This package contains a lot of the best action games that are published by Square Enix. The Just Cause series are known for its over the top actions and the ability to gives player the chance to cause havoc in its surprisingly massive world that triumph over any other open world game. Even though the storyline is a little short but the gameplay itself will be able to cover any flaws because it is one solid open world action games.
Kane & Lynch series is known for its crazy violence due to its main characters. The storyline of both game are very short but the unique element of the game is its co-op mode and the multiplayer aspect. The co-op mode is a great introduction to the game and the multiplayer modes are very innovative compares to other standard TDM and CTF modes.
Sleeping Dogs is your all in one open world action games with aspect from Just Cause's actions, Batman Arkham series' fighting, Need for Speed's racing and many more combined into one massive game. In a modern size open world game set in Hong Kong, as an undercover cop you are tasked to destroy the triad organization.

Best of the 3 Square Enix game in the past yearlok0812 | Sept. 6, 2013 | Review of Best of Square Pack
This package contains 3 of the best games by Square Enix in the recent year. Deus Ex is no doubt one of the best story and gameplay mechanic and can almost live up to the original game. You can choose how to tackle the game in forms of stealth or all out action. The rich storyline and gameplay are just what made this entry great.
Hitman Absolution is also another great entry and reboot to the series. With the enhanced graphic and the story it totally breathes new life to the series. Even though there were flaws regarding the gameplay for not having enough freedom of choice on how to complete the objective it is still a great game nonetheless.
Tomb Raider is also a great game with the reboot. The storyline depicts how Lara Croft become the Tomb Raider we know today. THe graphic and gameplay element is acceptable even though there weren't much choice between stealth and action that were done in Deus Ex, the storyline and action are a great element for the game.
Must grab package for anyone who are looking for topnotch action games and they will not be disappointed.
Stealth genrelok0812 | Sept. 6, 2013 | Review of Thief Pack
This Thief Franchise pack sets the standards for all the stealth games in the future. The stealth mechanic of these games are top notch as it really emphasize the stealth and enemy AI. The shadow and the lighting worked very well together in the game. Gameplay wise is similar to the modern first person stealth games like Deus Ex. Even though the graphic is outdated fans who enjoy a good stealth game should dismiss it. This is a must get action game if you enjoy the stealth genre as well as understanding the story of Garrett for the upcoming Thief game.
Decent puzzle and platformerlok0812 | Sept. 4, 2013 | Review of Bob Came in Pieces
This game is similar to other types of puzzle platformer like Braid. One unique aspect of this game is the ability to craft your space ship any way you want through parts and pieces that are collected during your platforming adventure as well as use them to solve puzzles. The gameplay is pretty average as in side scrolling from point A to B with the physic based puzzles that can be solved easily. Very interesting game indeed as a platformer with cool ship building.
Great Zelda like gamelok0812 | Sept. 4, 2013 | Review of Ittle Dew
This game is similar to the Zelda games that was released on the Game Boy. A 2D top view action adventure game that is also similar to Anodyne. Similar to them, players venture through the game collecting currency and buy upgrades and weapons in order to venture further to the story. Along the game, there will be puzzles that challenges the player in order to unlock certain doors to continues. There are a lot of paths to choose from as well as ways to finish the game. Definitely a great game to pick up and play it through.
Nice port to the PClok0812 | Aug. 28, 2013 | Review of Ace Patrol
A mobile game that is ported into PC that was originally free to play on a mobile device with additional campaign for purchase. The combat of the game is fun with its turn based strategy. Each of the planes you control have different types of abilities and it can proves to have an advantage over one and weakness to another. The game packs a large numbers of missions for the player to play but one flaw is that you cannot go back to replay any of those missions. Definitely a great addition to the PC with this great strategy game for the mobile device.
Sequel to a great story gamelok0812 | Aug. 27, 2013 | Review of BioShock® 2
This is a sequel to the original Bioshock which was known for its gameplay and its twisted story. The setting is still the same as the previous Bioshock with the improvement of easier gameplay and acceptable story. The game still allow the player to make choices similar to the end of the original Bioshock. Truly an FPS game that have gameplay and story that were done top notch and deserve to be play. If you are looking for a solid FPS game that is not generic like many others in the market then definitely give this a try and you will not disappoint.
Better than previouslok0812 | Aug. 27, 2013 | Review of Cities in Motion 2
Cities in Motion 2 is a much better game compared to its predecessor in terms of both visual and the feel of realistically. One thing triumph all of the aspect is its dynamic cities, the time and the economy. Similar to the first one, Cities in Motion is not your Simcity game, you are just instructed to build a transportation system for the city. The main thing that attracts players is definitely the sense of accomplishments that it gives since it requires you to micro mange a lot of aspect in the city. The game does have its flaw and the main one is its UI system which can be hard to learn if you are not used to the series. Regardless, this is a great transportation sim games for people who loves micro managing.
New way to play with your musiclok0812 | Aug. 27, 2013 | Review of Rush Bros.
There are many games out there that allow you to use your music to play a game, namely Audiosurf or Beat Hazard etcs. Beat Bros feels different at first since this time it uses your music to play a platforming game but it could get repetitive and dull in a few hours as the customized soundtracks of the game have little diversity. You might get a longer playthrough from your own music library but that still won't last you a long time as the game lacks the dynamic so it will feel repetitive quick. Online racing and leaderboard exists to challenge the player. Even though it lacks diversity of music affecting gameplay, this is still a pretty good entry for music games, definitely give it a try.
Sequel made for cooplok0812 | Aug. 25, 2013 | Review of Lost Planet 2
If you enjoyed the original Lost Planet where you get to fight against giant huge monster chances are you will like this one where you will be doing the same thing again except on one condition, the game is made playing with another human being. The game have a 4 players coop story mode where you can team up with others to tackle the story. The AI of this game is very bad so some of the stages are close to impossible and frustrating when it is done solo with AI. The game still looks great and gorgeous and the sound effect are well done. The game also have other multiplayer modes that can increase the longevity with its unlock system. This is definitely a must get if you have a friend to play with.
Old school arcade feel right frolm your PClok0812 | Aug. 24, 2013 | Review of Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara
The classic feeling of arcade game who sucked all your quarters is now here for your PC. The package includes two of the classic Dungeons & Dragons game sidescrolling brawler similar to Castle Crashers or Final Fight. The graphic is really cleaned out despite the game being really outdated. One great aspect of the game is the ability to drop in and drop out online/local cooperative mode that was presented when we played the arcade. Definitely a must get for anyone who enjoy a good sidescrolling game and to relive that arcade era again.
Excellent platformerlok0812 | Aug. 24, 2013 | Review of VVVVVV
If you enjoy any 2D platformer like Super Meat Boy or Braid, chances are you will like this one as well. Unlike the other two mentioned, VVVVVV is a more simpler game and all you need to do is control the gravity to avoid spikes and get through the stage. The game itself is as unforgiving as Super Meat Boy nor deep puzzle as Braid so it should favor more to casual players that are looking for a platforming experience. Definitely a must get if you enjoy 2D platforming and you will not disappoint.
Action gamelok0812 | Aug. 24, 2013 | Review of Resident Evil 5
Beginning from this installment of Resident Evil have a shift in the gameplay. The game is no longer a survival horror adventure instead it is more toward action adventure. The horror elements that existed in the older Resident Evil series are no where to be found. As an action adventure game, this installment is a welcoming entry to the series as it deliver the action and the pace of the game is excellent. The game also support online coop story campaign so 2 friends can join together and get through with the story. If you are looking for an action in Resident Evil then this is a must get but if you are a long time fans of the horror version of Resident Evil you might be slightly disappointed.
New directionlok0812 | Aug. 24, 2013 | Review of Resident Evil 6
Resident Evil 6 tries to follow what Resident Evil 5 did and tried to moved on to a newer direction by trying to satisfy action fans and horror fans at the same time. The result of that made the game lost its focus and failed to demonstrate what the game really wants to be. The game itself contains 4 mini stories that hosts with 2 characters each with the exception to Ada. The story unfold as you play through each of these story. The atmosphere in the game is superb the only thing that can be complaint are the gameplay and the rest of the game. Give Revelation a try instead.
Quick and mindlesslok0812 | Aug. 24, 2013 | Review of Alien Shooter: Vengeance
Similar to other Alien Shooter games from the same series as well as the continuation of them. The game packs some action RPG element with its gameplay. A simple and quick birds eye view click and go shooter. Perfect game to spend a little time on and then move on since the game itself is very short. Although the gameplay could get repetitive but it wouldn't be for long since the duration of the game is not long at all. Great game for older system though so if you are looking for some mindless shooting with an older pc build then give this a try.
Great survivallok0812 | Aug. 20, 2013 | Review of Don't Starve
This game packs everything you need if you are looking for a survival game. The player are tasked to collect materials scattered throughout the world and use it to keep yourself alive as long as possible and ultimately as the title of the game states, don't starve. Once the materials are collected, you can use it to craft different types of tool for your character to use like weapons, foods, shelter materials, etc. Each time you play the world is randomly generated so you will never feel that you know where the materials are and gain any types of advantages. The game also have several characters for the players to choose from, so the longer you play the more you unlock. Definitely a great indie survival game and must give it a try.
Not your Shogunlok0812 | Aug. 17, 2013 | Review of Total War Battles: Shogun
This game was a success when it was for the mobile devices but it is just not up to the PC standards when it is ported. First off, compared to the awesome Shogun 2, this installment is nothing like it, battles are not as epic and sounds are not as grand. Strategic thoughts are still required to play this game though but not as much as needed in Shogun 2. Even though it is only a port, the game itself is acceptable being a RTS game instead of seeing it as a Shogun 2 game. The game is only single player only and the campaign last around 8-10 hours depending on how you play the game. Great challenges and a welcoming addition to the Total War collection.
Package of funlok0812 | Aug. 17, 2013 | Review of Payday 2 4 Pack
Payday 2 have improved in all aspect compared to the original in therms of graphic wise and the overpowered shotgun of the police forces. If you have played the original you will know what Payday is all about. You are a group of 4 that m ust work together to get through the heist and get money and xp to rank up and unlock new perks and gears. New things added is the class system you can choose to be rather you want to do it in stealth or full on aggression is up to you. Another great thing is each playthrough is different depending on the actions or results of each missions so it will add up a bunch of variety when played with your friends. So just like its predecessor, Payday 2 is a party game similar to Left 4 Dead series except replaced zombies with police forces. With this package you can gather your friends and take on the hardest heist in the game.
Collection to a solid Alice gamelok0812 | Aug. 14, 2013 | Review of Alice: Madness Returns - The Complete Collection (NA)

If you enjoy an open world games like the Elder Scroll series then there is a chance you will fall in love with Reckoning as well. Compared to Elder Scrolls, while the world is not as open it is definitely a moderate size and do contain optional dungeon areas to explore that will come across during your adventure. Gameplay and combat style are similar while while Reckoning focuses on more action combat then the simple click spam of Elder Scroll. You can time your clicks and execute certain moves which will allow you to further extend you combo. In addition the the main game, the game also come with 2 of its content DLCs that will further expand the game. If you are done looking for another open world game and never heard of this then definitely get it/
All the Dragon Age in one packagelok0812 | Aug. 13, 2013 | Review of Dragon Age 2 & Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Bundle (NA)
A great series and definitely a great game, this package contains both Dragon Age Origin and Awakening as well as Dragon Age 2 in addition to all the DLCs it has released throughout the year. The storyline of all these games are great and truly felt like a RPG game. Combat is a mixed of real time and strategic combat where you can execute the moves of your choice, you can also pause the time and assign commands to each of your party members. Although the 2nd Dragon Age can be a bit disappointing, the original Dragon Age and its expansion are definitely worth getting and having the second game to play it just an addition bonus.

Solid game but not scary anymorelok0812 | Aug. 12, 2013 | Review of Dead Space 3 (NA)
Hopefully by this time, you have played the first 2 Dead Space or at least the second one which was the best in the series. In this installment, the game is no longer scary and more of an action game. The story continues from where it ended in Dead Space 2. Gameplay is still similar to the series with its TPS as well as scavenging materials and items throughout the game. Some of the new things this installment have is the ability to craft weapons and upgrade them with different types of part you found throughout your adventure. Another big thing is the ability to Co-Op with a friend to take on the story mode. While the game is no longer a scary experience as a single player game, the game is really enhanced by playing it with a friend. Definitely a must get to understand the story of Dead Space.
Essential package for LA Noirelok0812 | Aug. 12, 2013 | Review of LA Noire The Complete Edition
This package contains LA Noire and its DLC bundle. If you enjoy crime solving and puzzle solving then LA Noire will be the game for you. Its innovation idea of the game really make it unique by allowing the player to solve different types of crime cases by giving them clues and suspects to questions which ultimately will come to a result of rather you had the correct suspect at the end. The facial expression of each person you questions are top notch as you must read their respond like body language and the way they talk to see if they are hiding something. The game also have a pretty huge open world for the player to explore and aid in local crime scene. The DLC bundle further expand the game by giving more crime cases for players to solve. This is definitely a game to get if you are looking for a puzzle solving crime investigating game.
Entire GTA franchise in one bundlelok0812 | Aug. 12, 2013 | Review of Complete GTA Bundle
This is by far the best bundle for the GTA series. If you have missed and never had a chance to play through any of the classic GTA games that the current GTA is today, then this is the package you must get. While 1 & 2 of the series are missed in the package, they are really irrelevant as GTA 3 is where the game starting to climb up to the ladder and established a base foropen world games. All of these games are similar in any type of open world games it is together. You undergo series of mission to unfold the story of each game and there are many things you can do like side missions and collectibles to find and collect. This entire package will last you a few hundreds of hours of gameplay with just the GTA franchise alone. Definitely pick this up if you enjoy a great open world action game.
Sidescrolling beat them uplok0812 | Aug. 9, 2013 | Review of The Asskickers
This game plays and feels like your classic sidescrolling beat them up like Final Fights back in the days or even Castle Crashers of modern era. Similar to them you have a roster of characters to pick from and in this game you get to choose from 3 different characters as well as your choice of weapon to use. Graphic wise it is pretty colorful and pretty up to date in terms of modern graphic for a sidescroller beat them up but not as beautiful as any of the Trine games but it is acceptable none the less. If you enjoy beat them up games, definitely give this a try and you might like it.
Great simple gamelok0812 | Aug. 9, 2013 | Review of Condemned: Criminal Origins
A very unforgettable experience even though the game is very short and only contain one mode. The game constantly put you in a freak out state of mind and you will never feel safe for one second as long as you are playing. The graphics, animations, enemy behavior, and utterly unnerving sound make this easily one of the most immersive and atmospheric games One downside as mentioned before, the game is very short and if you are looking for a long sotry or a game with multiplayer to prolong the game, this is not it right here. All in all, it is still a great adventure with the single player along and a must get for any horror fans out there.
Going downhilllok0812 | Aug. 9, 2013 | Review of POSTAL 2 Complete
The second installment of the game introduced a FPS point of view to play the game. Flawed from the start, being crude for the sake of being crude makes it lame, but playing it makes it a pain. Paradise is bland. Vaunted interaction is, in reality, largely limited to shoot or don't shoot situations. Missions are tedious for they involve far too much the way of wandering and far too little the way of excitement. None of the first expectation will be met here in the second installment, get it if you really enjoy the series.
Original postallok0812 | Aug. 9, 2013 | Review of POSTAL
The first installment of Postal is probably one of the best in the series. The violence gameplay it offers it is just simply top notch. The story is very enjoyable as well as it compliment the violence of the gameplay. Gameplay is just a simple shoot and kill nothing too hard or innovating, just simple gameplay that get you through the game which is suprisingly enjoyable most likely due to the violence aspect. DO give this a try if you are looking for a violence game to fill you up until another good one come by.
Mediocre shooter with storylok0812 | Aug. 9, 2013 | Review of Kane & Lynch: Dead Men
This is one of those generic shooter shooting games that just have you shoot things as your ultimate goal. In Dead Man, you will be able to find this aspect easily but it also have a story which is very forcibly. It might keep you playing till the end but it can also make you abandon it since the gameplay of the game is very slow. The sound is pretty great with voice acting, but the enemy AI is pretty bad as they are just standing there waiting to be killed. Multiplayer host some interesting modes but the game only have 4 maps making the repetitiveness kick in really quick.
Generic shooterlok0812 | Aug. 9, 2013 | Review of Judge Dredd: Dredd Versus Death
If you are looking for a quick shooting game where you just gun down bad guys then this is the game right here. This game offers nothing else besides the fact that you can aimlessly kill of the entire enemy factions without breaking a sweat. The game set in a really colorful world that fans of Dredd might like but that is all. The game is a very generic shooter where you just run and gun through the entire map until you reach to the next one where you do the same thing. The multiplayer aspect, if it is still alive, hosts the same generic modes that you can find in other shooting games. If you are a Dredd fans then give this a shot, if not, you might want to look else where for a quality shooter.
Mediocre TPSlok0812 | Aug. 9, 2013 | Review of Kane and Lynch Pack
Both of the Kane and Lynch titles in this pack are really mediocre in terms of gameplay. The first Kane and Lynch set in a very ugly world with ugly characters. The gunplay is very bad as the enemies AI are so bad that they are always just standing there waiting for you to pop their head. You also have the ability to command the bots that are on your side but you will most likely will get a F word in return. In fact, the F word come out of the dialogue of the game 90% of the time making it really childish. Then there is the second game. The game has vastly improved from the first, you no longer need to command friendlies and the setting and character are much better in design but not depth. The story can be completed in 4 hours and the multiplayer aspect of the game gives new innovation but couldn't be delivered due to the lag that plagues the multiplayer aspect. Do not bother with this franchise, if you are into robbery singleplayer or multiplayer give Payday a try and you might like it better.
Great improvementlok0812 | Aug. 8, 2013 | Review of Sanctum 2
This second installment in the series improved from the first in every way. The leveling system, upgrades to the placement of your towers are much better and easier to deal with in this one. In addition, the graphic of this one looks more crisp and beautiful compared to the first one. Downside is that the game uses the same model for bosses for a long time so it might get repetitive shooter the same monster over and over again. If you enjoyed the first one when it was only a mere good innovation to have TD and FPS in one game, then you will enjoy this one as everything remains the same except this time more great things are built on top of it.
Continuing from the firstlok0812 | Aug. 8, 2013 | Review of Max Payne II: The Fall of Max Payne
Nothing has change since the first installment of the game. Actions are still quick and over the top. The storyline introduced a love drama between Max and a certain female character in the game to add in more depth to the storyline. The sound of the game improves from the first in terms of voice acting and sounds overall. Nothing else has changed from the first, so if you enjoyed playing the first installment of the game, you will find that you will love this installment too as the story continues on. Definitely a must get to continue on with the story as well as enjoy the great actions that this game delivers.
Hype of bullet timelok0812 | Aug. 8, 2013 | Review of Max Payne
The begin of a great series with high quality of actions and the introduction to the series well known bullet time. With the great gameplay and the awesome AI, the game signature bullet time is not just some mechanic that players can use whenever they want and provide no special benefits and just a novelty. With the non stop crazy actions of this game it remains to be one of the best action game for the genre and most likely one of the best in the series. This is definitely a must get for any action fans and then entire franchise for players who enjoy the story.
Beginning of open worldlok0812 | Aug. 8, 2013 | Review of Grand Theft Auto III
This game pretty much set the standard for open world games that followed. If you have never had a chance to try this awesome game back in the days then you will find that GTA3 will be the same as any of your open world GTA games. Of course the only thing you might find different is the graphic quality since this games is more than 10 years old. There are many things you can do in the game beside taking the main storyline and watching the story unfolds. Definitely give this a try for any GTA or open world action fans.
Even better than GTA3lok0812 | Aug. 8, 2013 | Review of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
If you played GTA3 you will noticed that this game will be bigger than GTA3 in terms of the world and it can probably match GTA4. Similar to other GTA in the series, you undertake missions as the story of the game unfolds and there are tons of activities and side missions for the players to enjoy to get away from the main quest line. While the graphic will of course will be outdated, the game still remains to be one of the best GTA in the series. If you haven't had a chance to try this then definitely get it.
One of the most violent of all timelok0812 | Aug. 8, 2013 | Review of Manhunt
This game is by far one of the most violent game of the gaming market. At first, you might think this will just be another action games with tons of gory effect but this is actually a stealth game like many other out there in the market and the gory is just something that make you feel accomplished. One great aspect of the game is that the game will become harder with its stealth mechanic so you won't feel like you can do the same thing from beginning to finish with your stealth techniques. The sound is supremely superb giving you an epic feeling but one downside is that the story is below average. Definitely give this a try and you will not disappoint.
Great improvement from the firstlok0812 | Aug. 8, 2013 | Review of Sanctum 2 - 4 Pack
Be the bully you wanted to belok0812 | Aug. 6, 2013 | Review of Bully: Scholarship Edition
This game have you play as Jimmy and allows you to do all sorts of bullying in school. Similar to any Rockstars open world games, the game have a moderate size open world for you to explore and mini games to play. While you are in school you finish objectives similar to missions around the school ground like fetching or beating people up. Storyline is pretty good as you get to carry out Jimmy's personality to the teachers and fellow students. With over dozens of NPCs each with their own personality to interact with. If you are tired of the always violent GTA from Rockstars, give this relaxing game a try and do all sort of pranks to the students and teachers that you always wanted to do.
Mario Kart but with Sega characterslok0812 | Aug. 5, 2013 | Review of Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed 4 Pack
This is similar to any other types of kart racing in the past decades especially the Mario Kart series. The game offers many different race tracks based on different Sega games along with a huge roster of SEGA characters to choose from as well as special character for the PC since this is the Steam version. There will be items to pick up to assist you to becoming first in a race. One unique aspect of the game is that the race track will change and your vehicle will adapt to the change from land, air, to sea. Great pack for a party gamelok0812 | Aug. 5, 2013 | Review of Awesomenauts 4 Pack
This package includes 4 Awesomenauts game to share amount your friends. Essentially 3 is really all you need since the game is a 3v3 game but with a package of 4 you can now do have 2 friends on each team if you guys decided on playing a versus. Similar to other MOBA games, you objective is to destroy the other teams base with the hero of your choice along with the assistance of waves. The only thing that is different is this is a sidescrolling versus the strategic birds eye of DOTA or LoL. The game doesn't contain any items with a wall of text nor a steep learning curve. Definitely a great game to pick up and easy to enjoy.
Small DLClok0812 | Aug. 4, 2013 | Review of Alien Spidy: Easy Breezy
THis small DLC adds 3 more levels each in a environment to the game. Similar to the main game you just need to complete the map but this time is the opposite as the title of this DLC stated it is not easy. These 3 levels are very complicated and require you to do a lot of chores that will challenge you to perfection without the help of any sort of checkpoints. For the small price of this DLC and the difficulty of the content, it is well worth getting it if you enjoyed the base game.
DLC to an awesome solid FPSlok0812 | Aug. 4, 2013 | Review of RAGE: The Scorchers
This is a must get DLC for RAGE as it will allow you to continue your game to finish up anything that you might have missed since the main game will just end after you defeat the final boss. In addition to that, it also add another mission campaign that is roughly 3-5 hours long depending on how you tackle it. Not to mentions the new weapons that are also introduced to the game that you can use even in the main campaign. Lastly, the ultra nightmare mode gives the player more challenge on the main game by ramping up the difficulty scale. This is a must get to further enhance RAGE.
Essential package for Darksiders 2lok0812 | Aug. 2, 2013 | Review of Darksiders II and Season Pass
This is the essential package for Darksiders 2 since there are many DLCs for the game that are weapons and armors, this one provides the game plus the season pass that includes the side stories. The game set in the same timeline as the first Darksiders while War was doing his work in the human world, Death is working on his own way in the other worlds. Gameplay is similar to the previous installment and any other hack and slash action game except a little deeper with the combo system and the combinations of different types of weapons. Each of these weapons are random generated with different stats similar to your dungeon crawling games. In addition, Death also comes with a skill tree for player to personalize whenever he levels up. Storyline is vastly improved from the first and it has a much deeper play in the game. Season pass also provides 3 side stories that takes the player into different zone and allowing the player to use the Death that they have built without the need of playing a fresh character. This is a must get for any action adventure fans and anyone who loves a story about the 4 horsemen.
Detective puzzle solverlok0812 | Aug. 2, 2013 | Review of LA Noire
This is a very unique game that puts the player in the shoe of a detective. You are given clues and witness and people to interrogate and it is up to you to find the leads in order to solve the crimes. NPC facial expressions are done very well since it is needed in order to tell if a NPC is lying to you or not. Similar to other types of open world from Rockstar, this game is set in a huge open world as well for the player to explore in their leisure. In addition, the game also have action element add into it like chase down suspect or gunning down gangsters. Great game to get for anyone that loves a deep puzzle game with action element
First DLClok0812 | Aug. 1, 2013 | Review of BioShock Infinite: Clash in the Clouds
As stated on the season pass description that this will focus on the combat of the game and no story content will be involved and that is what it is. This very minimal DLC adds the ability to combine weapons and dozens of challenges for the players to tackle using the weapons that are created. In addition there are concept arts to unlock for people who enjoy unlcoking things as well as new achievements. Not really a DLC that anyone should get unless you bought the season pass or enjoy achievement hunting.
Acceptable RPGlok0812 | July 31, 2013 | Review of Mark Leung - Revenge of the Bitch
This you will find it similar to more of a modern Final Fantasy games without the awesome polished graphics but it is still pretty in its own way with the colorful world. As the title of the game, you probably won't take this game seriously and you really shouldn't since it is more of a parody of everyday memes are included in the game. Players shouldn't feel offended or find the developers of the game lazy on naming the things in their game world. Gameplay wise it plays like any of the eastern RPG games with turn based combat. One great thing about such game is the level of humors and it delivered. All in all, don't let the title of the game fooled you, give this game a try and you just might like it.
Icon Reborn..?lok0812 | July 31, 2013 | Review of Duke Nukem Forever
Duke Nukem Forever isn't a revitalization of the early days of the first-person shooter genre or a middle-finger to the increasingly complex and sophisticated nature of video game entertainment. It's a muddled, hypocritical exercise in irritation with solid shooting mechanics and decent encounter design. There's some dumb fun to be had in Duke Nukem Forever, but the game tries hard to ensure it's only fleeting. There really isn't much to be had in this game since it is really just another generic shooter.
Tactical Strategylok0812 | July 31, 2013 | Review of UFO: Afterlight Cap
This is your average tactical strategy game that are similar to the older Commandos franchise and actually feels like you are playing one of those except with the setting of sci-fi and the colorful graphic in addition to the more depth in the strategic department. Downsize are the sound quality are really below average, it doesn't feel like you are actually in combat when you really are and the storyline is acceptable compared to their previous entry. If you enjoy tactical strategy games you will feel right at home with this one as it requires more strategy and might take more time to adapt and learn.
Total War fans rejoicelok0812 | July 31, 2013 | Review of Total War: Shogun 2
If you are fans of the series then you will find Shogun 2 to be very familiar with the older entries of the series in addition to more polishing making it the best Total War experience ever. If you have not played any Total War game, they are turn based RTS games utilized large armies and terrain environment. Aspects like those gives a wide variety of tactical decision when commanding your troops. The graphic and the sounds of the game are top notch and can easily be distracted by it. Overall, this is a must get if you are a RTS fans and should give this a try even if you don't pplay RTS.
Keep it in the darklok0812 | July 30, 2013 | Review of Dark
There are many stealth action games out there in the market and most of them are very enjoyable because of its sheer stealth mechanic system that wants the player to remain undetected while performing the goal of the game and Dark is not one of those. Dark is very innovated with new aspects and was very promising until it is played. The storyline is very weak and can be left forgotten easily the enemies AI are absolutely horrible, and the worse of all the game becomes repetitive fast. Controls are very clunky and often made the character animations very out of place. There are many other games out there in the market if you wished to enjoy a good stealth based action game.
Another great expansion added to one of the best strategy gamelok0812 | July 30, 2013 | Review of Sid Meier's Civilization V: Brave New World (NA)
This expansion adds a vast variety of elements to Civ 5 giving it a fresh feel to a 2 years old game. One major aspect is the trade route that you can generate money off of with it but at the same time influence other civilizations who interacted with your trade. With that, a number of civilizations are introduced along with this expansion making it a huge elements to the game. The scenarios are back as well that are similar to the scenarios DLCs for the game. This is a must have expansion for the game as it breathes new life into the game and increase its already great replayability.
Essentially all your need package for Sleeping Dogslok0812 | July 26, 2013 | Review of Sleeping Dogs Pack
There are many DLCs for Sleeping Dogs and most of them are cosmetic DLC that gives various stats, none of those are better than one another and therefore not recommend on getting any of those unless you want to collect a complete collection. This package however provides all the gameplay DLCs that includes story contents DLCs and side missions DLCs that allows the player extend the gameplay of a great game.
The game itself plays a lot like any sort of open world game except with more actions. The game have a lot of things similar to other types of game, including the combat aspect similar to Batman AC where you fight and counter anytime you want as well as different type of move set. Moderate sized world that is similar to all the open world action game. Just Cause 2 like vehicles hijack. Racing games like street racing throughout the game. Storyline from popular Asian movies like Infernal Affairs and it is not outrageously drawn out like GTA4 plus many other activities that the players can do. This is one of those must get open world action games and will not disappoint.
Last of the Tomb Raider chroniclelok0812 | July 26, 2013 | Review of Tomb Raider VI: The Angel of Darkness
This is the last installment of the Tomb Raider chronicle before it moves on to a brand new directions of the Legend, Anniversary, and Underworld Trilogy. In this installment, the graphic change would be the first thing player will noticed of the change, it looks cleaner and crispier of all the previous installment, which it is a plus to the entry and that is the only improvement. Gameplay and style it is till the same except this time it is less dark tomb exploring and more city escaping from the police. The only point of this installment is really the storyline, everything else is better left forgotten.
Reliving the pastlok0812 | July 26, 2013 | Review of Tomb Raider V: Chronicles
In the 5th installment of the game continues from the 4th story line. Friends of Lara begin to relive their past memories of Lara and her story through different tombs during her adventures. Same as the previous few installment, nothing new is introduced to the genre, it still remains the same formula of platforming dungeons with monsters and traps. Puzzle elements through each tombs must be solved in order to move on. This is very it beings to get dulled as it is still the same as the previous entry except the continuation of the storyline and it felt like the developers are just milking it. If you wished to know more story of the franchise then definitely get this but don't expect any new things.
Same formula as its predecessorslok0812 | July 26, 2013 | Review of Tomb Raider IV: The Last Revelation
The 4th installment still keeps its basic formula of exploring tombs in different place in the world while transverse through obstacles and traps that will kill you as well as monsters and wildlifes that serves as obstacles on your adventures. It also maintain the puzzle aspect from the 3rd in a bigger and better scale. Sadly, nothing else new was introduced in this installment so therefore it really felt like a rehash of the previous game rather than a new game with new directions. Even though nothing new is introduced, the storyline still continues and that alone make it worth while to be a great entry in the franchise.
Ongoing serieslok0812 | July 26, 2013 | Review of Tomb Raider III
This is when the series begins to reaches its downfall but never the less it is still a solid game. The reason for downfall is because there aren't many innovations to the series except you going to a tomb in this new place to explore. The only things they added for this entry are puzzle elements and more new gadgets. The visual is a lot more cleaner compared to when the game was first introduced. Storyline continues from where it left off from the series. Still a solid entry to the franchise and a must get for Tomb Raider fans.
Beginning of an epic franchiselok0812 | July 26, 2013 | Review of Tomb Raider I
This is where the adventure begins for the Tomb Raider series. As its title described your mission is to raid various tombs that are infested with monsters and deadly traps. Each of these missions have varied sizes and make each exploration very enjoyable. The gameplay of the game is very simple, you transverse from one place to another through platforming and battles with your weapon arsenals. The graphic is of course outdated since this game was back in the 90s, which back in the days was very impressive. A must get if anyone enjoyed the Tomb Raider from 2013 and wished to know more story of Lara Croft.
Arena based gamelok0812 | July 19, 2013 | Review of Rooks Keep
If you have played Chivalry or War of the Roses you will find this game very similar, the melee combat. Similar to the game mentioned, you play against other players/bots in a deathmatch using your melee skills with the system similar in Chivalry;s blocking and attacking. The visuals of the game is top notch and can definitely compete against Chivalry. Gameplay style remains the same to those game. One problem about games like this is its community, if there are no online community for the game, that is pretty much it as these sort of games are online deathmatch so if there are no one to play with you will be constantly playing against bots. Must give it a try if you enjoyed Chivalry or War of the Roses.
2 great mech gameslok0812 | July 19, 2013 | Review of Strike Suit Pack
This pack contains both games from the Strike Suit series. Zero is your 3D space shooter. As you play throughout the stage you will accumulate point to fill your bar and once it is reached you can transform your jet to the mech and lay havocs to foes within the mission. This game difficulty ramp can increase dramatically in a few stage then suddenly got much easier. The visuals are top notch. Must get for any action shooter fans.
Then there is Infinity, Zero's evil twin, compare to Infinity this isn't much of a mission based game but instead a survival based game. Every thing is similar in Infinity except you are trying to defend waves of enemies and see how long you can hold off. Nice bonus in the pack and yet still a solid entry for the series.
Solid Platformerlok0812 | July 19, 2013 | Review of They Bleed Pixels
This is similar to any other type of 2D platformer and adding in an extra element of action. Throughout the game you dodge traps and defeat foes to get to the goal point. As you defeat more foes, you will be filling up your checkpoint bar and once it is filled you can setup a checkpoint within the stage anywhere you want. Therefore, if you see a hard obstacle ahead just simply create a checkpoint and play until you get past the point. There are also other modes to unlock as well as collectible in the game. Definitely a solid platforming for anyone that enjoys a fun 2D action adventure.
Must get epic adventurelok0812 | July 7, 2013 | Review of FINAL FANTASY VII
This is by far one of the best Final Fantasy game from the series, even after such a long time has passed this game will still provide the epic adventure to new players and veteran players. As a re-release of the original PC port, nothing has changed except the compatibility of the modern OS. Gameplay and everything remains the same as we all loved back when it was released for the PC. Many mods have been introduced at this point to give the game a fresh look. This is a must pick up for any fans of the RPG genre as this is one of the deepest and epic storyline ever in RPG.
Another one of those difficulty platformerlok0812 | July 7, 2013 | Review of Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams
If you have played Super Meat Boy and enjoyed it because of its difficulty then you will most likely enjoy this one as well. The difficulty of this might not be in par with SMB but it is there. The player can switch between from the two Giana Sisters each with different ability that you can use to transverse through the world. With each switch the background and the music changes give it a vibe of quick sensations. The graphic is pretty good for a 2D platformer with rich colorful world similar to Trine series. Definitely pick this up if you enjoy a hard to play puzzle platformer.
Great story but nothing elselok0812 | July 7, 2013 | Review of Papo & Yo
This is another one of those game with a rich and heartwarming storyline but that is pretty much it for this game and it is a shame because this game had so much potential. First of all, the graphic of the game look very washed out and even though it is an indie title, graphic really shouldn't look so bad like games from 2 generations ago. Next, the puzzle element, there isn't much puzzle about these puzzles, they can be easily solved by looking at them first time. Lastly, which is also very game breaking, it is the glitch that plagued the game from NPC clipping the wall and unable to progress further, character falling under the game world causing it to restart the entire chapter, and the many invisible walls that block the players from progressing the game. Other than that, the game is great with the story itself and hopefully those glitches will be fixed eventually.
Not a great stealth experiencelok0812 | July 6, 2013 | Review of Velvet Assassin
This game have the player play as Violette the assassin in WWII. Similar to most stealth based action games. Your goal is to sneak behind your enemies and dispose of them without a sound and that is where this game fall short of. The only time the stealth mechanic would work would be of course a flawless stealth takedown, but if it failed you are pretty much dead. The animations of the steal takedown is same every time so eventually you will feel repetitive. Storyline is below average but could made up by the pretty scenery.and acceptable sound. You might want to look elsewhere if you are looking for an stealth action games.
Great package for a bunch of great gamelok0812 | July 6, 2013 | Review of Sonic Ultimate Pack
This package contains a bunch of great game from the Sonic series. The Sonic All Star Racing games are similar to Mario Kart mechanic, race and pick up items to become first mixes with transforming tracks.
Then there are the classic sidescrolling Sonic games as well as other classic games like Sonic CD and Pinball. These are classic games from the genesis era that are ported into the PC. With the modern version of Sonic 4 episode 1 and 2 still maintain the traditional sidescrolling mechanic with collecting rings, dodge obstacles, and defeat bosses.
Then there is the 3D Sonic Generations, the one is similar to the modern Sonic Adventure games from the Dreamcast era. Mechanic wise it is reminds the same as the 2D counterpart by reaching to the goal except now it is done in a 3D world.
All in all, this package is a must get for any Sonic fans that wants to relive their old Sonic games back in the days.
Great racing gamelok0812 | July 6, 2013 | Review of Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing
This is a solid entry for the PC in terms of the kart racing genre. It features many Sega characters and tracks based on their popular settings. The game allow the player to do stunts and drift for speed boost and the ability to transform your kart to planes or bikes when the track changes. A cool unique thing for this is that each racer have a unique all star move that is similar to getting the star in Mario Kart. This is definitely a solid kart game for anyone who enjoy the genre.
Nice optional DLC with great pricelok0812 | July 6, 2013 | Review of Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed: Metal Sonic Pack
The DLC get you a max level Metal Sonic and his modification for his kart. In addition, it comes with a new track to race on. A nice cheap priced DLC for addition content is always nice. All of these can be used on multiplayer and use it to play with your friends. Owner of the original game should pick this up as it is not expensive and give more variety to the game since the original game itself is solid enough already.
Best kart racing on the PClok0812 | July 6, 2013 | Review of Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed
Think Mario Kart except with Sega characters on the PC. The gameplay and mechanics are very similar, you race and try to become the top by good control and items you pick up. One fun aspect about this is your vehicle can transform when the track change from land to water or air. You can also do stunt after a jump to give you a temporary boost to your vehicle. Similar to Mario Kart, the long you do your drift the better your temporary speed boost will be. Definitely must get for any racing fans especially with friends.
Best PC fighting gamelok0812 | July 6, 2013 | Review of Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition
This is by far the best fighting game as of now for the PC, it is even better than any of the Street Fighters series especially if the player enjoy a good gory game. In addition, for a fighting game this game have a lot of contents. Another good thing about this game is the crisp graphic it offers compared to other fighting games. The game have DX 11 capability and allowing better looking animations and graphics. This is a must get for any fighting fans and you will not disappoint.
Complete pack of FEAR to fear youlok0812 | July 5, 2013 | Review of F.E.A.R Pack
This package contains a great series that will absolutely fear you. Gameplay and gamestyle are similar to other form of first person shooter except your character have special ability that can be use to turn the tide when gun fights against monsters or soldiers. The horror elements are especially high in the first 2 FEAR games but not so much on the third. The third is more focused on action combat and less on the horror but it is still a great solid game to play. Sounds are top notch in the series, you will constantly hear scream and sound effect that tries to scare you and keep you moving forward just so you will trigger that horrifying moment. The game also packed coop mode and multiplayer but it is pretty much dead for the first 2 FEAR, the third online community is rather small as well so it will be hard to find a game online. But if you have a friend that also have the game, the coop experience is a blast. This package is a must get especially it included the DLCs for the first two game to enhance the story even further.
Bridge to season two, get it.lok0812 | July 4, 2013 | Review of The Walking Dead: 400 Days
This is an great addition to a great story game of 2012. One downside of it that it is quite short. It takes a little over an hour to finish but just as the main game it has replay value. The DLC introduces new characters and let's you get to know them a little. It' acts as a bridge to season two so there might be a chance that your actions will carry over and affect that story. Voice acting is top notch, no surprise there, the graphics and gameplay mechanics are identical to the main game since the main thing the series is selling is the story and the story itself will provide the suspense. If you loved the original The Walking Dead game this is a must get as it will bridge it to the next season so you will not missed a thing or a gap in the story.
Great addition to the original gamelok0812 | July 3, 2013 | Review of Sword of the Stars: The Pit - MindGames
If you enjoyed the original game then you will find this DLC to add and expand the original game. In addition to the original ast and maps, this DLC adds two more characters to the game for the player to play, new powers, new places to explore and stuff to craft. In addition, new enemies unit to learn and defeat. Then theres the new mode for multiplayer to challenge players difficulty levels. All in all, this DLC is a must have for player who enjoyed the original game. Small price for such big addition.
A game that wants you dielok0812 | July 3, 2013 | Review of The Void
This game is difficult, but not because you are overwhelmed by monsters or quests. The game just wants you to die and not to mention it provides no hints or tutorial on what to do even though it might be a good point for players who actually wants to learn the game with no hints or help. Most of the time it is just too much and you will be lost instantly. This game really require a lot of time to learn and play through in order to know what is going on. Give it a try if you have plenty of time and want to learn an adventure game.
Great puzzle/action gamelok0812 | July 3, 2013 | Review of L.A. Noire Capsule
This is a very good puzzle solving game mixed with some actions with a great facial capture, combined with the most suitable music ever for a game. The gameplay, even repetitive sometimes, is a great experience. The game is fairly long, extended even more with the cases from the complete edition. The story is also top notch, even though predictable at times. Expect huge FPS drops from time to time that shouldn't last for more than five seconds, regardless of your computer's performance. Overall, this game looks great and you should buy it.
Generic shooterlok0812 | July 3, 2013 | Review of Warhammer 40000: Space Marine
This is another one of your generic shooter in the story of Warhammer. The player are just simply tasked with slaying many upon many of orks along each missions with your arsenals of ranged and melee weapons. There are joys of slaughtering countless of them but that could get bored quick as most of them really do not provide much challenge and the game difficulties are far too easy. The game also have a multi player mode that allows deathmatch between two teams as well as a coop mode for four in the form of survival mode. Give this a try if you are looking for a shooting game to play with no new innovation.
Spinoff that is not goodlok0812 | July 3, 2013 | Review of Alan Wake's American Nightmare
Compared to the original Alan Wake game, this spinoff is just not good at all. This game just move away from what Alan Wake try to do and turn it into an action game that failed miserably. The gameplay is very repetitive and generic. The game should last around 5-6 hours afterward you are pretty much done or you can give the arcade mode a try. It is not that bad of a game but it will be more enjoyable if it sticks to the roots of Alan Wake instead of moving to a new direction. Do give this a try if you enjoyed the story of Alan Wake and wished to know more.
Continuing the great storylok0812 | July 3, 2013 | Review of Max Payne 3
The newest installment of the Max Payne series continues with Max story and it did not disappoint. Gameplay is similar to other types of shooter with the old mechanics of previous Max Payne, so there isn't much that was changed. Graphic wise the game is very beautiful with the modern engine and packed a lot of beautiful scenery as you progress through the game. One downside about this if compared to other Max Payne you won't find it a better game that is because there isn't really much new addition to it besides the nice graphic and the multi player mode. Do give this a try for any Max Payne players for the story and any other people that enjoy a nice solid shooter.
Generic shooterlok0812 | July 3, 2013 | Review of Inversion (NA)
The graphics look good and the gameplay can be fun at times but there are a few enemies here that can frustrate you and at times swarm you.One good thing about the game is the difficulty, some of the bosses later in the game will definitely require some skill to get through. In addition, ammo are scarce in the game so you might find yourselves out of ammo to continues. The gravity effects are great you get to float in some areas and stand on the side of a building or upside down. This is one of those generic shooters with the power to control gravity, should give it a try.
Great storylok0812 | July 3, 2013 | Review of To The Moon
To The Moon is one of the best interactive stories I have ever experienced, the plot is very unique and sometimes heartbreaking. The story is great and the soundtrack is beautiful. It's more of an interactive story than a game but please don't let this discourage you. It deserves a playthrough. Get it and sit back to enjoy a 3-5 hour long 'movie'. After all - it doesn't cost more than what you'd pay to see one.
Great shooterlok0812 | July 3, 2013 | Review of RAGE: Special Edition (International)
The story is mediocre, the ending makes it feel like they cut the game in half and after you finished the story you can't come back and complete the rest of the races and side missions until the patch. However, RAGE has its upsides. with a great combat racing component, the incredibly sharp graphics, the amazing performance and the polished combat system make the game a solid and beautiful experience. The game also have a coop mode to allow friends to play in a separate story in the form of survival or racing. With the recent DLC for the game, this game is worth a try.
Immersive storylok0812 | July 3, 2013 | Review of Mafia II
This is one of those game that delivers on the story, it is very immersive and very enjoyable that makes you feel like you are in the mafia environment. Gameplay wise is similar to other types of open world game with shopping and collectibles. Down side about the game it is very linear and short, the game duration should only be about 8-10 hours but there are collectibles that can prolong the period. Another great thing about the game is the cutscene, it is very amazing and beautifully done so even if it is only 10 hours, the game is greatly worth giving a try.
Average shooter, GREAT storylok0812 | July 2, 2013 | Review of Spec Ops: The Line
This is your average third person shooter at best but the story is what made this game great. The story itself is a pretty sad one as you progress through the game. The graphic is very beautiful as you and your squad mates are in a setting of a sandstorm post apocalyptic setting in Dubai. Nothing is new to this in terms of gameplay, if you have played any form of shooting games you will feel right at home with this one. Definitely must get to enjoy this story with the decisions you made in the game. None of those decisions will get you a good ending of the game because all the decisions will lead you to this sad ending, just how sad will your ending be?
Nice spinofflok0812 | July 2, 2013 | Review of Lara Croft And The Guardian Of Light
First coop game from the Tomb Raider series, one player controls Lara and the other control the Guardian. Each of these characters have different moveset and unique ability to complement each other to solve puzzles and move around the map. The game style is your top down view similar to Diablo games and play with click at your target with your mouse to attack. THere are numerous puzzles and unlockables throughout each stage for the players to unlock. This is best played with a friend as each stages are boosted by playing with another human player. If not, the player can still play this solo with Lara gaining access to the Guardian's spear and solve everything solo.
Average shooterlok0812 | July 2, 2013 | Review of The Darkness II
The game have a separate storyline between the single player and the coop mode of the game. Each modes only last around 6-8 hours of gameplay. Game style is similar to the first Darkness if anyone have played before. The story is acceptable for a game with this title. Control wise it is similar to any other type of shooter in the market with an unique aspect of calling out monsters to help you kill your foes and that can turn very gory with blood splatters everywhere. Not a bad game overall but it could have been better.
Nice rebootlok0812 | June 29, 2013 | Review of DmC: Devil May Cry
This reboot breaths new life to the franchise with a fresh story from the DmC series. The game style remains the same as your hack and slash your way through each stages. Throughout the missions there are hidden stuff for the player to discovered and unlocked. Currency in the form of souls are obtainable throughout the stages for the players to buy items, unlock new abilities, and upgrade a perk. Multi difficulty from the original DmC games are back, except not as punishing and doable even as a casual player. Storyline is pretty nice with this new reboot using the same characters in a different story. Must get for all DmC fans or hack and slash fans. Only downside is the game is pretty short, only around 7-8 hours on first playthrough and the only replayability is the difficulty modes provided once you beat the previous difficulty.
Continuation to the GOTYlok0812 | June 25, 2013 | Review of Deus Ex: Invisible War
The sequel to one of the greatest GOTY, the original Deus Ex. Gameplay remains the same as the player tackle objectives in an open world through lethal or non lethal means. Sound wise it is pretty good and the storyline nice even though it is not as great as the original. This time the game really wants to emphasized the player as a super human weapon through technology so it concentrated more into actions and more skills/perks to upgrade your character that are similar to Deus Ex: HR. Even though it is not as great as the original, this one is pretty solid on its own and a must get for anyone who enjoy the Deus Ex series.
Excellent classiclok0812 | June 25, 2013 | Review of Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition
While Deus Ex HR was a very impressive game, this classic hit still probably tops it. Anything you could have thought of doing in HR is in this classic gems. The player still get to choose rather if he wants tot tackle his object in lethal or non lethal mean. The storyline, music, and gameplay are all top notch, this is by far one of the best game even though it has been more than a decade and it have aged a lot. The game already have plenty of mods throughout its time, named Hi-Texture mod and community made content mods. Must get if anyone looking for a good storyline game with action but don't mind the outdated graphics.
Fun Strategy gamelok0812 | June 25, 2013 | Review of Rome: Total War
By far the most fun strategy game I have ever played. The player create massive armies to destroy your enemies whilst pleasing the senate and managing local economies. Civilization is somewhat similar. in its approach to creating armies and taking them to battle. Where Rome gets special is when you do decide to attack a unit it isn't all about dice rolls. You command the unit in battle. You control every unit and tell them what to do and how fast to do it. This allows you to earn victories despite the enemy outnumbering you and why Rome: TW is one of the best games of all time.
Fun and creative gamelok0812 | June 25, 2013 | Review of Scribblenauts Unlimited (NA)
This game have you solve simple puzzles by creating items or interact with the background using your notepad. Player can create new object to satisfy the need of the NPCs or interact with the background like enlarging or shrinking to get through. Upon solving a puzzle within a stage you will be granted a shard of a star and it is your main objective to collect these shards to save your sister. There are about 20+ of these stages in the game and each one have 10-25 NPCs that are looking for help. How to solve the puzzles depends on your creativity and you can use different thing to achieve the end result. There are many hidden shards that you can obtain by creating and interacting with objects using your notepad that the NPC don't tell you. The game last around 12 hours for full completion, a fun little game and worth it.
Giant world with lots of things to dolok0812 | June 24, 2013 | Review of Just Cause
This game is similar to other types of open world action adventure except this open world is pretty massive in size and with many things to do. There are also numerous different types of vehicles for the players to use from land, air, to sea. Story quest could be a little short but in return you get plenty of side quests you can do from racing to controlling towns. One thing the Just Cause series emphasize a lot is the ability to do crazy things, over the top explosions and crazy stunts with grappling hooks. Definitely a must get for anyone who enjoy a good open world action games with the abilities to cause havoc anywhere you go while it is not as great as the second this installment is pretty solid itself.
Great gamelok0812 | June 23, 2013 | Review of World of Goo
Fun little game having the players to build a tower using the goo balls provided to bridge each other to form a tower. Building with them is as easy as click and hold of your mouse but not planned carefully can cause the tower to collapse due to the difference in weight or a bad foundation. A very innovative game that challenges players to balance things. There are numerous amount of stages with different layout to test the players to get to the goal of the stage by limiting the amount of goo balls that must be saved. Great indie title and it is a must get.
Great gamelok0812 | June 23, 2013 | Review of Deponia
Deponia is a standard point and click adventure with a lot of witty humor. It’s not a very long game but it has an interesting story and it will give you a few laughs. You play as Rufus, who is a self-centered lowlife and his main goal is to get out of the dump Deponia to live in Elysium. Somehow along the way things go wrong of course. The puzzles aren’t too hard to understand and some puzzles even have an option to skip them. I thought the voice acting was pretty good and the game has some clever cartoony visuals. If you like point and click adventures games you definitely should play Deponia.
DLCs for a platform gamelok0812 | June 21, 2013 | Review of Quantum Conundrum: Season Pass
If you enjoyed the base game chances are you will like this as well. One downsize about the season pass is even though it comes with the content DLCs, the DLCs itself are really horribly made. Game style is still the same but this time, no voice over what so ever. You are still doing the timing jump "puzzle" instead of a real puzzle that challenges you to solved, none of that appear in the DLCs. If you are looking for a platforming games then this is it but if you thinking of Portal type games, you might want to look elsewhere since the "puzzles" in the base game and the DLCs are solvable by just looking at them first time, the only challenge is perfect the platform jumps to get to your goal and if you messed up then you get to start all over again.
Rich story RPGlok0812 | June 21, 2013 | Review of The Witcher II: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition
This is by far one of the few RPG with rich storyline and visual to date. The game continues from the first installment and as the sub titles of the game describe, the king is assassinated and you need to track down the real culprit who framed you. The visual of this game is top notch and really require a strong computer to enjoy it. Combat is a big improvement from the first entry instead of timed click you just need to spam click now. Crafting, magics, skill trees are in the game as well for you to build your own Geralt. The game packs a lot of playability through story branches and different decisions as well as numerous amount of different endings. Must get for any RPG fans but do make sure your computer can handle this.
Modern Unreal Tournamentlok0812 | June 20, 2013 | Review of Nexuiz
This game have the gameplay similar to Unreal Tournament, you are placed within an arena in a 3v3 match and your objective is to get a higher score than your enemy's team at the end of the game by either TDM or CTF. Along the match, the map will spawn perks in the name of mutator that will give you special limited time benefit. The graphic of the game is very top notch, lots of bloom and blurred eye candy to satisfy the people who seeks graphic in an FPS. Since this is more of an online shooter, player base is very important and it it pretty much dead or non existence at this point. You can still play with bots in a single player game but that will not last you forever. If you enjoy Unreal Tournament types of game and looking for a modern feel plus having a few friends to play with definitely try this one out.
Classic Zelda-like gamelok0812 | June 20, 2013 | Review of Anodyne
If you enjoyed playing the old Zelda games on your Game Boy you will find this game to have a similar experience with them. Control and combat are exactly the same. There are also puzzles you needed to solve to move onto the next area. The musics of the game is top notch for an indie game. The game is a little short, it is only about 2-4 hours depending on how good you are in memorizing your paths but overall it was a fun experience that delivered right from the start.
Arena gamelok0812 | June 19, 2013 | Review of Forge
This is similar to your MMO Arena match sort of like the one in WoW. choose to control one of the 5 or 6 characters and your objective is to fight against the enemy team. Each of these characters have unique skills while a few of them is stronger than others but all are pretty much the same controls. Graphic of the game is pretty nice, and the sound is acceptable. Give it a try if you enjoy a PVP Arena game.
The screenshot adventurelok0812 | June 19, 2013 | Review of Dear Esther
This is an unique adventure game that emphasized a lot of visual. You are stranded on an island and all you have to do is explore the island. Each playthrough is sort of different but there are just not too many for the game to generate a random experience. Great audio and visual overall, not much of a gameplay standard besides from the fact that you just walking around like in an FPS game without any sort of action. If you are looking for a relaxing genre to get away from all the actions pick this up and it will give you a few hours of island exploration.
Spinoff from Modern Warfarelok0812 | June 18, 2013 | Review of Call of Duty: Black Ops
After two Modern Warfare series, Activision came out with a spinoff for the COD franchise and it is this game. Not much things has change beside new setting for the story in single player. The game is pretty much at the same directions as the previous installment like MW and MW2. The pretty looking environment for single player campaign and the easy to pick up point and shoot mechanic for multiplayer. The zombie mode is not that much of a big deal since it is just another survival mode with not much of a story. Fan of COD might have already picked this up as each year COD base transfer from one game to another in order to play the multiplayer aspect of the game. If you are newcomer to the COD series just grab Black Ops 2 that is already out that is still a similar experience with minor change to the loadout system.
Great story and gameplaylok0812 | June 18, 2013 | Review of BioShock (NA)
This is the first installment of the series. The game itself is pretty great in terms of story. The story is similar to any other type FPS, shoot and magic attack. Along the story there are upgrades and perks you can purchase to further strengthen your character. One thing that is sort of unique is how you can use your magic to interact with the map itself which was really neat for games back in the days. Game itself is about 6-8 hours long so there isn't much to do aside buying the remaining upgrades after you beat the game. But there are multiple endings for the game to increase the replayability by a little but that can be achieve by saving the game before fighting the boss. Definitely give it a try for FPS fans.
One of the best music shooterlok0812 | June 18, 2013 | Review of Beat Hazard
This is one of the best music shooting game that actually changes based on the tempo of your musics. There are many of these games out there at the moment that doesn't have that feature but Beat Hazard have it. The game itself is similar to any top down shooter, you are only need to navigate in the space you begin, so no giant map to explore. Combat is also similar to any shoot'em up games in addition to upgrades and perks that you can get when you level up by gaining experience after you finished a song. YOu can use whatever song you have in your library but if you want to use any from your iTunes library you will need to get the cheap DLC in order for the game to support it. The game itself is also very flashy so it might be the best to turn them down to prevent seizures after a long play time. Must grab for anyone who love music genre.
Stealth action with choices that will affect your gamelok0812 | June 17, 2013 | Review of Dishonored
This is one of the best stealth action for the genre. The plot of the game is great and straight forward without any sort of filler to delay the process. Gameplay is similar to many other stealth actions games and you have the choice to either choose to be a stealth or straight up encountering your enemies similar to Deux Ex: HR. The graphic looks very modern and the controls are great to use, easily selectable from one of your many powers and gadget through the wheel. One unique aspect of the game is that your choice will affect your game. Like causing haavoc by killing everyone you see will lead to a dark city with rats infesting everywhere. Choice made at the early game will see consequences at the end. As well as, the NPC you interact with will also serve as a purpose at the end. While the storyline is not long and can be completed in around 4 hours if rushed through each of the mission maps are moderate in size and provide lots of places to explore and people who enjoy this sort of game with choices will definitely play more than once. This is a must get for anyone who enjoy a good stealth game.
Beautiful and challenging gamelok0812 | June 17, 2013 | Review of Trine
Trine is a sidescrolling platform puzzle game. The player control all 3 of the characters one at a time and able to switch to the others at fly and utilize their unique abilities to get through the stage by solving puzzles and defeating enemies. The background of the game is simply gorgeous and very polished. Control is superb on keyboard and mouse but players can elect to use a controller. The game itself packs more than 10 stages as well as a bonus stage that bridges the game to Trine 2. There are numerous collectible throughout the stage for collectors as well as achievements for players to tackle. A full run of the game will usually take around 7-9 hours not including hunting down all the collectibles for achievements. This is a definitely must get if you enjoy 2D action platform puzzle genre that is similar to The Lost Vikings.
Best point and click adventure everlok0812 | June 14, 2013 | Review of The Walking Dead
I am never a fan of point and click story game but I am a huge fan of Walking Dead so I decided to try this. The storyline is topnotch similar to the TV series. It describe the event prior to the TV series and see the world turn into apocalypse in the eye of your character. Decisions must be made by the player to sometimes sacrifice a group member. Relationship and bonds can also be created when you save a certain member more than once or do them a favor. This game expands on 5 different episodes with each episode being around 2-4 hours a piece. This is definitely the best point and click adventure game even if you don't enjoy game of this genre. If you are looking for a great storyline game, this is it right here.
Crazy open world actionlok0812 | June 14, 2013 | Review of Saints Row: The Third
The Saints Row series has been known for its over the top actions and humors. As the player you are immediately introduced with just that at the beginning. Nothing disappointing at the intro just because many things intro are meant to be slow. Gameplay is similar to GTA series, open world with missions/side quests and activities. While the world size, misions, and size missions are not expansive as GTA 4, I definitely recommend this over GTA 4 since you are not an errand boy like you are in GTA 4 and the game is not so drawn out to a point that gets boring like GTA 4 did in my opinion. Definitely must get if you enjoy and open world action game with crazy over the top actions and humors.
Great DLC compares to City Trialslok0812 | June 14, 2013 | Review of Dishonored: The Knife of Dunwall
This is the first story DLC for Dishonored. It is a side story of Daud after what happened at the prologue of the base game with Corvo. Daud's powers and equipments are somewhat similar to Corvo except on a few skills and extra equipments. One advantage of enjoying of playing Daud is his Blink can freeze time as well giving the play much use in escaping or using it to blink behind an aggressive target for the instant kill. This DLC will extend the game for around 4 more hours through quests but it will most likely be longer when you are going stealth route and exploring like during the main game. THere are also sidequests you can take on in the name of Favors in the game, in addition, this DLC also comes with 10 more achievements for players to achieve. Definitely a must get over the annoying City Trials DLC.
Best Dead Spacelok0812 | June 13, 2013 | Review of Dead Space 2 (NA)
This is by far the best Dead Space out of the 3 installments. Especially the gameplay and sound really give you the feeling of keep on moving forward as something must be behind stalking you just to walk right into a trap of a monster lying in wait to scare you. Storyline continues from the first installment and I would say a big improvement in terms of everything from the first, a truly scary experience. The game also sports a multiplayer mode that allow team deathmatch, players can choose from human or monster to play from. The ability to play as the monsters is really rewarding as you too can have the chance to ambush the human players. Must get game if you enjoy scary action games or get the entire franchise if you want to know the story.
First Person Slasherlok0812 | June 12, 2013 | Review of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare
The game set in a medieval theme that you as a player play as one of the 4 class of fighters each with different types of weapons, tools, armors, and speed. The gameplay is similar to any other FPS games except all you have are melee weapons to slash your opponents with. There are also ranged weapon if you choose to be an archer as well as secondary throwable weapons. This is an online deathmatch multiplayer games similar to Team Fortress 2 where each map have a certain objective that players of each team must complete from invading the castle to killing the enemy's team. This is a must get as First Person Slasher is a fun and an innovative type of game and it will sport numerous amount of joy seeing your opponent lose an arm or head when you chop them.
Fun sidescrolling MOBAlok0812 | June 12, 2013 | Review of Awesomenauts
This is a 2D sidescrolling version of your typical MOBA game like Dota 2 or LoL. The map is very small and quickly to navigate and only contain a maximum of 2 lanes each. Each matches consisted of 3v3 combat of awesomenauts or heroes. Currently there are more than 10 characters to choose from and each one of them have unique abilities. If anyone couldn't get into Dota 2 or LoL due to the deep learning curve, this is a must try since it is very easy to pick up. This games also have numerous amount of DLCs in the form of character skins. These are just cosmetic and serve no additional purpose so it is up to the player to get it or not. Definitely must get for fans of MOBA and people who wish to try MOBA.
One package for the original Dragon Age Originlok0812 | June 11, 2013 | Review of Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition (NA)
This is by far the best Dragon Age game when compared to its sequel. Storyline for this game is top notch and with many twists and plots. Sidequests and collectibles are present in the game for players to tackle and collect. The main story quest line is around 10-12 hours then add in the many DLCs from this pack will increase the playability of this game even more. This package also comes with the Awakening expansion pack that extend the original story even more. Expects great length of story from this package. Combat wise is your basic action type games with quick bar to access your skills, in addition to that, player can pause the combat and command your party to do different things and have them executed when combat resume at your discretion. This is a must have for RPG fans that are deep into storyline.
New type of gameslok0812 | June 11, 2013 | Review of Mirror's Edge (NA)
An unique game play style that mixes parkour with action combat. As the player you are instructed to get to the finish point of each mission. In a huge map it is your choice to figure out how you want to get to your destination with different types of parkour moves. Enemies will also be presented in the stage that serves as blockade to your run and that is where the action combats comes in even though that isn't a lot of those. The game would be flawless if it includes some sort of multiplayer that allows player to race against a friend online but sadly the game only have leaderboard as multiplayer aspect. This game last around 7-9 hours depending your play style. Definitely must try if you are looking for a new type of gameplay.
Deep RPG for the original GOTYlok0812 | June 11, 2013 | Review of Deus Ex: Human Revolution
This game is the prequel to the original Deus Ex GOTY many years ago. You are in an semi-open world map to strategically plan to tackle the mission. The player can choose between lethal and non-lethal approach whenever you want but the game heavily reward you by being non-lethal. The gameplay and sound quality are excellent and it really gave the player the dark sense of mood. Storyline is great by telling the back story and Jensen's story. There are many collectible in games and sidequests as well for player to find and tackle. Must play for fans who love the stealthy genre as well as action adventure overall.
Great TD gamelok0812 | June 11, 2013 | Review of Plants vs Zombies Game of the Year Edition (NA)
This is most likely one of the best TD game of the generation. The simple mechanics add in variation of many different types of defends plus defense map setting create many challenges in the campaign mode. There is also many other challenge modes for you to unlock many other things. Throughout the game you will get coins that you can use to unlock other plants and items. A must get for fans who loves TD series.
Evil twin to Zerolok0812 | June 10, 2013 | Review of Strike Suit Infinity
Similar to Zero except this is just an arcade space shooter aiming to get the highest score on the leaderboard for players. Think endless survival mode added for Zero except you are now Infinity. Not much of a story for Infinity as you are just trying to stay alive as long as you can and get as high as you can on the leaderboard nor improvement from previous installment in the term of control or visual which were great in Zero. Definitely give this one a try if you enjoyed Zero and looking for another similar type space shooter.
Great visual on this space pilot shooterlok0812 | June 10, 2013 | Review of Strike Suit Infinity
The primary great thing of this game is the fast pace intense combat although the combat can get a little bit too long which if died will cause you to lose all your progression. The visual is very stunning and often cause a distraction from your mission. Story is acceptable and it is not just go destroy X to save our world theme. Occasionally your jet can transform into a robot that can decimate your foes easily but that is only served as the ultimate move and cannot do it everytime. Great title to get if you are a fan of the old Wing Commander.
Epic game in one legendary packagelok0812 | June 8, 2013 | Review of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition (NA)
One of the massive game of 2011 comes in the form of legendary package which includes the 3 DLCs that are released plus the base game itself in one low price. The main game itself will give the player many things to do already in a huge immersive world of Skyrim. From aiding townspeople to saving the world, Skyrim has it all.
In addition to the main game, this package comes with the 3 DLCs which will bolster the main games for even more content. The first DLC, Dawnguard, have you play in the story of a vampire. Doing quest and tells you the story within the Skyrim world. Player will have the ability to turn into a vampire and slay your enemies in your vampire form. New dungeons, side quests, weapons and armors are also included.
Second DLC, Hearthfire, will give the player the power to buy their own land and build their house upon it. How you want your house build it is entirely up to you. Asides from that, the player will be able to adopt children and have them move in with you. If you are tired from the dungeon crawling, this will be a nice relax DLC for a change to give your character more life.
Last DLC, Dragonborn, takes place in a new island. Player will tackle the original Dragonborn of the game and save the world. Similar to Dawnguard, the game have new storyline, side quests, powers, weapons and armors, and ultimately new places to visit.
If anyone has been waiting on getting this game since the release, this is the time by getting this all in one package and enjoy another life in Skyrim.
Portal inspired puzzle platfomerlok0812 | June 8, 2013 | Review of Q.U.B.E.
If you enjoy the original Portal game you will find this quite similar to it except less thinking of portal setup and more using different colors to mix in new color to solve puzzles. Most of the puzzles aren't that hard to solve to begin with, the only one that are actually hard are probably the last few in the end but should be able to solve by thinking a little. Game length is less than 4 hours so it is a pretty short game. Worth a try if you enjoy 3D puzzle platformer.
Don't remember melok0812 | June 6, 2013 | Review of Remember Me
This is your typical hack and slash game without the weapons. The player transverse around the world solving simple puzzle doing platforming and beating the repetitive enemies. The combat style is pretty unique since you can create your own combo chain and each hit can affect the damage of the next. The style is similar to Batman AC or Sleeping Dogs with the hit and counter mechanics. One downsize of this is if you changed target in the middle of your combo your combo reset back to the beginning causing you to lose the bonus. The graphic of this game is top notch, it is as beautiful as Bioshock Infinite.
Another bad point is the character can be delayed during movement causing her to fall off and die sometime and when a character die it takes you back to the checkpoint causing everything done in between to be gone including setting up your combo string. It feels like the character just all of the sudden couldn't remember her own skills.
One good aspect is you are able to visit a targets memory and alter it to your advantage to rescue an event. Player can rewind back the time and alter with things that will change the outcome. Even though this game have some good point but it is outweighed y the bad. If you insisted on getting it wait until a sale or you will be just put into a generic action game that you have played before.
Can't afford to make a mistakelok0812 | June 6, 2013 | Review of Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition (NA)
The game really isn't categorized to be a hard game, it is more like don't make a mistake because if you do chains of bad things will happened and it will be hard to recovered. The game itself takes place in a huge open world divided into many sections and each sections can eventually linked to one another giving you a shortcut or a resting place. You grind and collect experience in the form of souls and level up until you are comfortable enough to tackle the boss. In all honesty, levels means little in the game if you don't study the boss mechanics and dodge/block when you must you won't progress very far even if you are high level in a low level zone. One downsize is this is a straight up PC port so therefore it is plagued with bad control and restricting graphical settings. A controller is a must for this game to eliminate further torturing of one self as well as DSFix mod to unlock the restricting graphical settings. Definitely a must get for every RPG fans out there.
Fun little gamelok0812 | June 5, 2013 | Review of Magicka
This game contains many great things. The innovative combat have you mix in 8 types of elements in your disposal to create a new spells. Humorous storyline from start to finish. DLCs content that serves as pvp arena and story contents. Last but not least, the amazing coop feature, playing this game with a friend will enhance the experience even more. Definitely pick this up and enjoy the life of a wizard firing laser beams, fireballs, steams, water jets, and many more..... at your friends.
Dungeon Siege series goes downhilllok0812 | June 5, 2013 | Review of Dungeon Siege III
This is no longer the Dungeon Siege series that you used to play, it is nothing like the first two installment. In this one the game is very linear and locked you in a single character story of you choice. It no longer have that dungeon crawling for loots feel anymore. While graphic received an upgrade that didn't help much in terms of gameplay. The game is still very playable but just don't expect the same experience you had back when you played the first two. If you haven't played the first two then definitely give this action game a shot.
Solid MMOlok0812 | June 5, 2013 | Review of Rift
This was a solid MMO when it was first introduced and promised to have new contents every month and a half and it delivered. This will soon hit a free to play model due to the lack of player base. Cash shop have nothing game breaking that will cause the game to be pay to win. The advantage of this game have is that each class can have utilize their many souls or subclass and create your own play style. Dungeons and Raids are included in the game for players to tackle and can get difficult. With the introduction of Chronicle which is a 2 man Dungeon it brings friends together and complete in the story as well. Definitely try it out now and received additional benefits when the game goes free to play.
Buy to play MMO with Pay to winlok0812 | June 5, 2013 | Review of Guild Wars 2: Heroic Edition (NA)
GW2 improves from all aspect of GW1, first off a huge open world for players to explore for quests and events. All of these events are randomly generated depending on the area, it can range from a measly kill/escort quest to killing a huge zone boss.
The storyline of the game is rich and extensive from level all the way to level 80. Once the story is finished there are dungeons you can grind gears from and each of these dungeons have several paths for groups to take and each path is more challenging than the previous.
PVP take forms of World vs World as in servers vs servers and structured battle ground PVP with objectives. WvW have you represent as your server and battle against players in 2 other servers in a huge battlefield map. Structured PVP is similar to other MMO PVP with objective based.
Minigames, puzzles, achievements are also included in the game for players to tackle and achieve. Seasonal events exists just like other types of MMO. New personal story missions are introduced as well. All in all, there are just too many things GW2 have to offer and definitely worth trying out.
Best M&B serieslok0812 | June 3, 2013 | Review of Mount & Blade: Warband DNS
This is by far the best M&B game in the series. The gameplay is much more enjoyable and playable when compared to the new entry WFaS due to the gun addition in the game. With the DLC to Warband it will have the similar weapons except playable. The graphic can be dated but it is still fun none the less. The online community is large for a game this old and mods are being played everyday. A must get if you like battlefield in a medieval theme.
FPS + TDlok0812 | June 3, 2013 | Review of Sanctum
This is the game you get when you mix in FPS and TD. The ingredient is very promising bu the result is really just average. The first few maps are fun but it can get dulled very quickly. All the monsters in the game have a certain weak point that the player must aim in ordered to take them down and this is where it gets bad for the game. The defense itself will not aim at these weak spot and majority of them will aim at their first target who are immune to damage unless are hit at the weak spot which causing them to act as a tank while the others follow in and slip past your defense leaving you doing all the work. It is not really recommended to get this game but unless you really want to try this promising genre of FPS TD get Sanctum 2 where it has improved in all aspect of the original Sanctum.
Huge gamelok0812 | June 3, 2013 | Review of Grand Theft Auto IV
The game world itself is pretty huge for the game in this genre. There are many mini games and different NPCs to interact with. Player can spend time with them through different types of activity given in the game to maintain relationships. The storyline of the game is very long which can get dull being the bus-boy in every single missions and can feel a little drawn out but if you enjoy games with a long length then you won't go wrong with this. Downsize of this game is that it is a port from the console so there might be crashes and errors sometimes. Controlling with keyboard and mouse can be frustrating sometimes especially when you are driving, so a controller is very recommended. A great game none the less if it wasn't too drawn out.
Linear Batmanlok0812 | June 3, 2013 | Review of Batman: Arkham Asylum Game of the Year
Compared to the second installment, Arkham City, this is just a linear game. But don't get it wrong that the game is not good in fact it is the other way around. The combat and the storyline is just as great as Arkham City. There are enough villains in the game to challenge as well have hidden challenges across the stages for player to uncover. This is a must get before Arkham City and easily enjoyable Batman experience even though Arkham City improves from Asylum in all aspect.
One of the best DLC currently for the gamelok0812 | June 2, 2013 | Review of Borderlands 2: Mr Torgue's Campaign of Carnage
If you already own the season pass then there is no reason for you to buy this as this is already is included in the pass.
This DLC is by far the best one compared to the other two content DLCs that are already out. This has more humors, actions, and quests then the other two, giving the players more content to play.
Raid boss is also included similar to the other DLCs, while not as difficult when compared to Terramorphus.
If one have to choose between which content DLC to get, this one is your best bet! But the season pass includes every content DLCs plus more so that would be a better choice.
Get it if you want to play the game againlok0812 | June 2, 2013 | Review of Binary Domain: Dan Marshall Pack
This DLC adds weapon and perk to your single player campaign. One would think it would just be side grade stuff that won't serve any difference owning this or not. But this DLC will give OP perk to the player and allowing the game to be much more easier. Therefore, only get this DLC if you want the original experience since this might spoil the game by making it easier.
First is always the bestlok0812 | June 1, 2013 | Review of F.E.A.R
This is by far the best FEAR in the franchise. In terms of horror and gameplay this topple the others 2. The sound actually gives off the sense of FEAR similar to Dead Space 2, it really makes you want to run and get scared by the game's creepy atmosphere. This outstanding shooter combines creepy horror with kinetic and visceral action, and it elevates the genre to a whole new level of intensity. Besides Dead Space 2, this can really be called one of the best creepy shooter ever made.
Beautiful and sad storylok0812 | June 1, 2013 | Review of Bastion
Bastion is one of the solid action adventure indie game in the market. The story is told by a narrator that describe your every movement from falling off the map or to killing things. Sound is superb from an indie developer. Combat is similar to top down view clicking with your mouse. Story itself provides a twists and very enjoyable. The game comes with many challenges along the way for weapons. At the end there is a new game plus that allows player to replay the game with the equipments earned in the previous game. Must get if you enjoy action RPG games.
Generic shooter with new unique additionlok0812 | June 1, 2013 | Review of Binary Domain
Binary Domain is your typical TPS that sets in a futuristic world. The common gameplay style allow you to hide behind cover and shoot and working with your AI squad members. One unique addition is that player can communicate with your AI squad members through your mic and giving them command. If you stick alongside them the chance that they will listen to your command will increase but if you only using them as a shield their loyalty to you will decrease. Downsize to the game is the multiplayer, it is currently dead and almost none existence. The 2 DLCs of the game can be ignored since one gives the player OP stuff in single player while the other gives skins and maps in multiplayer. Regardless if you are into shooter give this a try but don't expect too much innovation as it is your average shooter.
Big improvementlok0812 | May 31, 2013 | Review of Batman Arkham City: Game of the Year
Arkham City improves a lot from the previous installment. First major thing is the ability to play Batman in an huge open world of Arkham City. Combat wise is more fluent and fun. The story is not as great as Asylum but it is still great non the less. There are more villains for Batman to tackle compares to Asylum. Not to mention, many challengers and riddles are placed within the open world for players to complete. Player can veer away from the main story as soon as the game start giving it a huge form of freedom. In addition, all the DLCs are included in the GOTY giving players more contents and challenges to an already huge Batman game. Get the game if you enjoy open world action adventure and you will not disappoint.
Massively open world action pack gamelok0812 | May 24, 2013 | Review of Just Cause 2
First off, the size of the world it is just tremendous. It is probably one of the game with the biggest playing world. If you enjoy blowing stuff up and causing havoc to settlements this is your game. In addition, many many upgrades are scatter throughout this huge world for you to collect. Story wise can be a little short but it is still fun to engaged in them regardless. Over the top actions is what this game trying to deliver and it did not disappoint. Definitely one of them best game in the genre, the replayability of this is just tremendous and watching yourself conquer each bases or settlements will make you want cause more havocs even more.
Tomb Raider rebornlok0812 | May 24, 2013 | Review of Tomb Raider Steam -
This reboot allows the Tomb Raider series to redeemed themselves. Even though it is not the same as the old Tomb Raider games where you are an experienced adventurer wielding dual pistols and laying waste to your foes this installment provides the alternate combat and view of the game.
This time you are Lara before she became the adventurer in Tomb Raider, she is fragile and inexperience to killing even the wild animal. You are alone and your goal is to learn and survive in this wilderness. Combat you are given a bow at first which can be use for stealth kill and takedown. You will be also given with firearms that you can use. Similar to Deus Ex: HR or DIshonored, you are rewarded with stealthy maneuver. In addition, the game have several collectibles, puzzles, and tombs within the game for you to sidetrack.
Downside to this is the multiplayer section, the population of this aspect is very low most likely due to the fact not many people expect much from this and it do not seem to provide any different from other types of multiplayer shooter. Would have been nice to have this spent resources to buffer up the single player experiences or add in more tombs to explore to further the playability.
Regardless, if even if you are just an action adventure type gamer and not a Tomb Raider fan, this game is a must get. The hours of fun, story and actions will feel unique since this is a different approach from the traditional Tomb Raider and done right.
Reward for taking damagelok0812 | May 21, 2013 | Review of Borderlands 2: Psycho Pack DLC
A great addition to the already existing characters. While the Mechronmancer was acceptable, the Psycho is a must have. This class allows you to excel in both melee and ranged. Take damage to increase your own damage outputs. When you are in downed states you can continue on with the carnage by throwing dynamites compares to the others which are a great mechanics. This is one of the character DLC that fan must get if have to choose between the Mechromancer and the Psycho.
First DLC to the massive shooting gamelok0812 | May 21, 2013 | Review of Borderlands 2: Captain Scarlett & her Pirate's Booty
This is the first DLC from the season pass. It brings players to a new zone and hunt for treasures. Similar formulas as the core game, pick up quests and complete them for rewards and progress through the story. Many humors exists in this one as well as a acceptable storyline. This DLC also adds raid boss for players to challenge similar to Terromorphus in the core game. A must get for all Borderlands 2 fans, unless already owned the season pass.
New areas and characters in the same formulalok0812 | May 19, 2013 | Review of Borderlands 2 (NA)
The game itself retains the same formula as its previous game. The game still have you go around shooting things for quests and loots. Except this time you take control of new vault hunters in a new story line. You will see many familiar faces from allies to enemies. Everything from the first game is in it. New introduction in the form of gears and raid bosses. Gears are pretty self explanatory but these raid bosses will certainly provide a great challenge to the game. If you enjoyed the first one, you will definitely love this one.
Expanding the Darksiders storylok0812 | May 17, 2013 | Review of Darksiders II
Death's story takes place at the same time as War back in the first one. While War doing his thing on Earth, Death on the other hand is looking for answers in other realms. Gameplay is similar to the first one, hack and slash combo with different weapons variation. The world this time is much bigger compared to the first one. One major thing that was added was loot random loot system and loot quality that can be found throughout the game that is similar to random prefix/suffix in the game like DIablo series. Definitely a must get if you enjoyed the first one and desired to know more backstory of the game.
Seperate "should be" standalone DLClok0812 | May 13, 2013 | Review of Dead Island: Ryder White DLC
First of all this DLC is just a single player experience for the game. Meaning it doesn't have multiplayer, the ability to use your created character, nor the ability to carry what you found in this DLC to your existing Dead Island character. This DLC talks about the event prior to what happened in Dead Island, if you are really interested in the story then get it otherwise stay away from it. This DLC last around 2 to 4 hours so it is not really worth it unless you are interested in the back story.
Stay away unless you are big on achievements or a collectorlok0812 | May 6, 2013 | Review of Dishonored: Dunwall City Trials
First off, this DLC does not provide any sort of story content so if you are looking for extending story to the game you can pass this. This DLC provides 10 trials or challenges for players to complete most of which requires pure luck to complete. Upon completing it, some of these trials will unlock a harder version which set an restrictions to the already ridiculous luck based trials. Only get this if you like to complete the Steam achievements or enjoy torturing yourself.
First DLC for Skyrimlok0812 | May 6, 2013 | Review of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Dawnguard Steam
This is the first content DLC for the massive Skyrim. It adds a story about vampires to the game. Not much new places were added to the game, the DLC just ask you to go back to pre-existed places in the original game and complete the quests it asked you to do. New shouts, weapons, and armors were added as well as a skill tree for vampire and werewolf players. Even though there weren't a lot of new area introduced in the DLC, it will still provide you even more hours to the already massive game.
Great additionlok0812 | May 3, 2013 | Review of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hearthfire S
While this DLC did not add any story content into the game but it gives the player an alternative things to do rather than the usual killing in Skyrim. This DLC adds 3 plots of land that the player can purchase then build your own house on it. New additions includes building and upgrading your house with different types of fixtures to servants, ability to adopt orphans, and defending your house against monsters. Great addition for people who are looking for something else to do in the world of Skyrim.
Weakest DLC at the momentlok0812 | March 22, 2013 | Review of Borderlands 2: Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt
This DLC by far is the weakest DLC compared to Scarlett and Torque. The gameplay is still fun and the combat is still exciting. New additions like raid bosses and new enemies are a welcoming addition to the already awesome game. The part that made this DLC the weakest is the storyline, it is mostly comprise of grind quests and the dialogues are very generic. Regardless, even though it is the weakest DLC out of the three, the DLC itself is still very solid just not as strong as the other two previous DLC. Must get if you do not own the season pass.
Underrated RPGlok0812 | March 15, 2013 | Review of Kingdoms of Amalur - Reckoning - US & Canada
Open world RPG that emphasize more on actions rather than just button clicking like the Elder Scrolls series. Gameplay is similar to other types of RPG with side quests, mini dungeons, and so on. Combat requires player to chain up combo by timing or holding buttons. Story wise is very enjoyable almost similar to Elder Scrolls that you are given a new life. One aspect that is bad is the camera angle, mobs that are outside the camera can easily ruin your combo. If you are a big jumper in RPG games you will be disappointed to find out there is no jumping in the game. All in all, it might not be as huge as the Elder Scrolls series but it is still definitely worth a try.
Another great stealth action gamelok0812 | March 2, 2013 | Review of Hitman: Absolution - Professional Edition (NA) Overflow-
A great stealth game that is similar to Dishonored that allows the player to tackle objectives from different angles. The visual of the game is simply superb with the new engine. Great voice acting throughout the entire course of the game. The multiplayer form of the aspect is just contract mode that is similar to leaderboard system in many games but it is still fun to play to see which amongs your friends is the best assassin. Downside of the game is that it is very linear and not much freedom are given to you. All in all, a must have for fans that favors to stealth genre.
Nice alternativelok0812 | Feb. 11, 2013 | Review of SSV8NC Superstar V8 Next Challenge
Definitely a nice alternative to other racing games within the market. On the downside, other types of racing game within the market also features other type of mode besides the traditional racing track while SSV8 doesn't. The car selections are also not as huge when compared to other racing games but it could be sufficient to other type of racing fans. All in all, this is a nice addition for racing fans if you are looking for pure track racing.
Unique TDlok0812 | Feb. 10, 2013 | Review of Unstoppable Gorg
A typical TD game originated from iOS, the unique twist of this TD from other ones is that you can rotate the circles you built your towers on to defend from other paths using the same towers which add another level of strategy in building and moving. Downside of this is the game doesn't last long at all, if done correctly the entire game can be completed within 2-3 hours. Replayability is present in the forms of research upgrades and optional objectives from each map. Regardless on the length of the game, this is still a great addition for TD fans.
Great mobile gamelok0812 | Feb. 10, 2013 | Review of Zombies.
Pure and mindless shooting games set in an office and other related areas filled with zombies. The game packs with great music, great art, and great comedy. The only flaw of this game is the control scheme since this game was originally for iOS. All in all, a great addition for zombies shooting fans to add into their collection for mindless shooting.
Just averagelok0812 | Feb. 10, 2013 | Review of Ninja Blade
Not the best action game in contents but the game is still fun to play regardless. Even though there are many flaws on the game like controlling issues and story progression. There are unlockables in the game in the form of costumes to increase the replayability. All in all, the game itself is still a blast to play through, the game itself should last around 9 hours and will provide enough fun from an average action game.
Free to try on this good space MMOlok0812 | Feb. 5, 2013 | Review of EVE Online - 14 Day Free Trial
One of the best space MMO in the market at the moment. With this 14 days trial, player can try out the game before they purchase/subscribe to the game. Another great thing that this game provides is the ability to purchase game time with in-game currency. So potentially, once you know what you are supposed to be doing in the game, you can pretty much play the game subscription free. This is an nice addition to others that want to try somethings other than the typical fantasy RPG MMO that are flooded in the market.
Great addition to an amazing gamelok0812 | Feb. 2, 2013 | Review of Swords and Soldiers: Super Saucy Sausage Fest
This DLC adds 10 extra levels, a new mode, new spells, a units to the original 2D side scrolling strategy game. It remains the same formula as the original game by allowing you to create units for them to go down their path, similar to DOTA's wave spawn and pathing. All in all, this DLC will be an excellent addition to the already fun strategy game and it is totally worth the price for a DLC, since a lot of the DLC from games are totally not worth to get. This one will not disappoint.
Reviewlok0812 | Dec. 21, 2012 | Review of Devil May Cry 4 dns
In Devil May Cry 4, players control the formidable Nero who comes to grips with his newly found power as his beliefs and allegiance are tested. Continuing the legacy of fast paced action synonymous with the series, Devil May Cry 4 pushes the envelope of excellence even further with the inclusion of a new combat system that incorporates Nero’s "Devil Bringer." This new feature has players delivering overwhelming damage to enemies with non-stop combos, while gaining new power for Nero’s right arm. With the PlayStation 3 system's advanced graphical capabilities, high definition visuals and intricate detail come to life as players explore new and exotic locales. Amazing visual effects and dynamic action coupled with a complex storyline, provides the very cool, slick and stylish attitude that only a Devil May Cry game can deliver.
Reviewlok0812 | Dec. 5, 2012 | Review of Earth 2160
Interesting gameplay with pretty graphic for a game that is this old. The game let you design your own units choosing between 4 different factions to play as, each one of them is unique to the others. The multiplayer skirmishes can also be very fun to play against the bot. Only downside is the game storyline is just average, pace is horrible, and the voice acting just really need some more work.
Overall, a must try for RTS fans for the Skirmish mode and the ability to master 4 different types of faction strategies.
Minor DLC, great addtionlok0812 | Dec. 2, 2012 | Review of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Hearthfire Nexway
You will be able to purchase a land to build a house, decorate the exterior and interior, hire NPC, and eventually adopt children. It is not a must to get Hearthfire right away unless you have nothing left to do in the world of Skyrim since most of the activities in Hearthfire can get repetitive quick since it will only require you to gather materials so you can build/decorate your house.
Definitely do get this DLC if you enjoy some time off from killing monsters and exploring dungeons. Overall, it is a nice pace away from the usual story quest DLC.
Minor DLClok0812 | Nov. 29, 2012 | Review of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Hearthfire Nexway
As the title said, this is a really minor addon for a legendary game.

Reviewing for the 4th timeslok0812 | Nov. 21, 2012 | Review of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Hearthfire Nexway
Hearthfire is an excellent DLC to add Skyrim into a more immerse world. It gives you the ability to buy 3 plots of land to build a house on, the towns that previously did not offer a house when you became the Thane. In addition, the DLC allow you to adopt up to 2 children which you can interact with. Overall, this DLC is a nice addition to Skyrim fans as it gives them more things to do like collecting materials for your houses.
Great addition to the world of Skyrimlok0812 | Nov. 17, 2012 | Review of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Hearthfire Nexway
This small DLC will add the ability to build houses on three available plot of lands, the small towns that did not give you the option to buy the house when you are become the Thane. This DLC will require you to collect materials like woods, stones, leathers, etc. to build the exterior and interior of your house. You will also have the ability to adopt up to 2 children and have them move into the house with you. Occasionally, you will need to defend against invaders to protect your house. All in all, this will be a great addition to have for Skyrim fans.
It is good.lok0812 | Nov. 14, 2012 | Review of Earth 2160
You get to choose between 4 different factions with different types of units and tech tree. While the tech trees weren't all that great between the factions but the building strategies will have you in awe. The graphic of this game is definitely high considering how dated this game is.
The only minor drawback of this game is its storyline, the pace of the game is ridiculous at some point, as well as the horrible voice acting. Regardless, this is a game that RTS fan must try out, the multiplayer and skirmishes are a great way to keep your replayability high with this game.
Not a must to get for the saving on individuallok0812 | Nov. 12, 2012 | Review of Darksiders II: Season Pass
The season pass offers 2 content DLC and 1 armor DLC, the content DLC itselfs are $10 per so it will result in a $20 price if you do not care about the cosmetic Maker armor DLC. It is recommended to get it whenever you feel like it.
As for the content itself, at the moment only the Maker armors and the Abyssal Forge is out for the season pass. The armors will become obsolete depending on your level
The Abyssal Forge DLC is the same as other DLC by THQ, not enough content, it packs 2 bosses, 2 dungeons, and around 2-3 hours of additional gameplay.
The final piece of the season pass is not out at the point of this review but regardless not worth getting the season pass just for that last part assuming that the DLC is good. If you are a big Darksiders 2 fans, then I would highly recommend you getting it when it is 75% off or get it whenever you feel like it and not make an immediate purchase or you will be disappointed.
Luck basedlok0812 | Sept. 21, 2012 | Review of Age of Fear: The Undead King
Simple turn based strategy game on a hexagon based grid. The strategy element is truly satisfying since you choose which pieces to move in the grid and plan to exploit the weakness of the enemies. One bad thing is combat is based on dice roll, if you cannot get the roll you need the battle could turn into a long tedious match. The good part is the AI in the game will provide a challenge. Fans of turn based strategy game definitely should give it a try.
Solid with minor flaws.lok0812 | Aug. 15, 2012 | Review of Sleeping Dogs Digital Edition
Sleeping Dogs puts player into a vast open world of Hong Kong. The player can choose to explore the world, helping NPC on different type of side quests, or work on the story mission. In addition, there are hidden things you can find within the world of the game, like boxes and health shrines. Unlockable within the games rewards you with different types of outfits that will grant you perks or better stats.
Combat itself is remarkably fun, especially if you favored the counter system of Arkham City. The player can use the environment to damage your enemies. Downside is that sometimes camera angle can be bad during fights and cause the player to unable to see anything. Regardless minor flaws were not enough to drag the game down.
It is alrightlok0812 | Aug. 15, 2012 | Review of Greed: Black Border
This game puts players into a dungeon crawling Diablo-like environment within space. You have the option to choose one of the three characters of the game then learned the story and are thrown into the game world to begin the shooting.
The loots of the game are nothing spectacular, weapons are similar to the one you begin with except better stats. Armors are just different by putting a number next to them for upgrades purposes.
The game will get tedious quick since all you really need to do is move around and left click. Think twice before getting it if you favor the dungeon crawling for loots genre.
More action than horrorlok0812 | Aug. 12, 2012 | Review of F.E.A.R. 3
Compared to the previous installments, FEAR 3 focuses more on action than horror. If you have never played the previous installments then you will have nothing to lose playing FEAR 3. The game itself is a pretty solid shooter with 2 different characters ( 1 shooter and 1 using psychic power) and both of them plays differently. The game also features co-op mode to tackle the single player campaign with your friend which it can be a blast.
But if you have played the previous installments, don't expect too much from the horror part from this game. Most of the down-rate of this game was due to the switch of this since many people thinks that long run horror series can still do the trick.
Do pick this up for the co-op experience of the game.
Multiplayer gamelok0812 | Aug. 5, 2012 | Review of Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad
Even though the game have campaign mode, the game's true intention is its multiplayer. With its 64 players TC mode in a large battlefield map it gives off the feeling of living in a war. This shooter might be different than the others, it forces you to use your iron sight to shoot and eventually you will learn how 1 bullet is enough to kill, that way you can kill or be killed with a single bullet forcing you to be wary of your surrounding in order to survive and score points for your team. This is one of the choice if you are looking for a realistic shooter.
Not for everyonelok0812 | July 20, 2012 | Review of UFO: Aftermath
UFO Aftermath, while not as finished looking as the later games in the series, and while not a rebirth of X-Com, was likely my favorite in the series for a couple of reasons.
First, this game has a great learning curve, it scales well for a single play though from "really easy" to "pretty hard". The AI can be pretty devious sometimes, especially on the outside urban maps.
Second, the world, while it doesn’t look the greatest, feels really good. There are a lot of pros to the game that make me feel X-Com like. The urban landscapes especially feel like cities where people once lived…. It has more of a theatrical feel then the later games in this respect. It’s been weeks and there’s still smoldering fires. Decaying bodies, and masses of flesh from where mutants came to life. Don’t get me wrong though, it is not overdone, it gives it a strong sense of “something happened”.
Third, whereas by the third game you had a whole lot of character development built into the story, in this installment it has a more traditional X-Com style random fairly nameless troop thin going on, and you develop the role play and attachment.
It might not be as polished as the later games, and it might not be as faithful to the core X-Com design as some other titles, but I would say this is one of my favorite games in the market niche.
Classiclok0812 | July 20, 2012 | Review of Beyond Divinity
This is an excellent old-school RPG, and its entertainment value against today's offerings still holds strong. Beyond Divinity has nice graphics for its style and the controls are similar to other isometric games of its type, with the exception of your two-player control system, which is fairly easy to adapt to. Game has an excellent mix of story, combat and exploration. If you like the isometric style of RPG and haven't played this one yet, you definitely should!
Very demanding gamelok0812 | July 20, 2012 | Review of Metro 2033
Nice story-line, set in a post-apocalyptic environment. Nice horror survival element, you can always feel the pressure while navigating areas lurked with monsters. Also, on places with human enemies, stealth is very important and fun. Might need a decent PC, as the graphics are quite demanding. One of the rare games that the Russians are the good guys.
Almost but not greatlok0812 | July 20, 2012 | Review of Sid Meier's Civilization® V
Good game but... bit of a disappointment.
Civilization IV was an awesome game, and this new Civilization game... doesn´t really make important additions or improvements (not at least at the level that Civ IV was in comparison with Civ III). Warfare is better, solving the 'superstack' issue that had been present in Civilization series since the beginning (partially managed in Civ IV), and the hex-map is better than the "octagon".
But city management has been nerfed, and great features like religions have disappeared.
I insist, it's a good game, but not the pinnacle Civilization IV was.
