Very addictivemaces006 | Oct. 5, 2013 | Review of Sid Meier’s Civilization® V
For someone like myself who doesn't play many strategy games, Civ 5 is a very good game. The pc version has plenty of options for graphics and gameplay which allows for the game to be played on many computers with different configurations. With Civ 5 being a turn based strategy game it allows you to fully assess the situation of a battle or even your surrounding areas without worrying to much about unexpected threats. The combat mechanics of Civ 5 are very well put together, as well as the animations of the battles and movement. There are many different types of people you can control from soldiers to farmers, which allows for a very large management. There are also special abilities that are obtainable after reaching certain points in the game; these will give you percs to improve your cities. Overall Civ 5 is a very great TBS with alot of replayability.
More story, more destructionmaces006 | Oct. 5, 2013 | Review of Red Faction Guerilla
This being the first red faction game i played, i went into playing with an open mind. The game is very good at delivering an interesting story, as well as providing a satisfying amount of building destrutcion, although after playing the original Red Faction the lack of environment destruction did disapoint me a little bit. Guerilla comes packed with a wide variety of weapons that are changable at the HQ, although being restricted to only 4 weapons at a time is a bit redundant. Overall Red Faction Guerilla delivers what it was set out to do and it delivers it very well.
A classic to keepmaces006 | Oct. 5, 2013 | Review of Red Faction
Red faction has a very interesting story, as well as mechanics that make the game very interesting. Red Faction runs on geo-mod technology which allows for destrution of the games environment, although it would take a while to blast a big enough hole into the wall (i tried to build a tunnel). The variety of weapons on Red Faction is quiet reasonable, as well as the health system. This game is really enjoyable although due to the age of the game it can have issues on the latest OS, and also there is no waypoint/minimap to tell you where you have to go so you can get lost if your not careful. I would highly recommende this game.
Good start to Arkham Seriesmaces006 | Oct. 5, 2013 | Review of Batman: Arkham Asylum Game of the Year
Batman Arkham Asylum is a great start to the series. the story of asylum involved many of the villians from the batman universe but mainly focuses on the Joker. The combat mechanics are very fluid, although the inability to counter when attacking can get annoying. The size of arkham aylum is faily reason with many areas to discover and explore. There are many secrets to find, mostly related to the Riddler which allows the gameplay to be extended. The main drawback about Akham Asylum on pc was the Games for Windows Live that is used (although this is being removed for the steam version). Overall a very good game that starts the arkham series.
Fantastic Gamemaces006 | Oct. 4, 2013 | Review of Batman Arkham City: Game of the Year
Batman arkham city is a very fantastic addition to the Arkham series of games. It has a very well told story, a great amount of challenges to complete and very good villians. The combat is very fluid and much better than Arkham Asylum. The vastness of Arkham City allows for greater manouverability and allows for a greater experience.Very well impressed.
