Lara survives next genmchand82 | June 8, 2013 | Review of Tomb Raider overflow 4 - PC
Tomb Raider grows up. I have to admit I don't consider myself a Tomb Raider Series Fan. The Tomb Raider Reboot does much to change this perspective. Tomb Raider delivers tight cinematic action and adventure. The new Tomb Raider meets and outshines its competitors such as the Uncharted games and the Prince of Persia series. Pros: Next Gen Visuals on PC: Visuals show off Direct X11 Effects nicely. Also TressFX adds more realistic hair if your system allows for it. Animations shine as Lara interacts with her environments nicely. Responsive controls (played with XB360 controller) Cinematic Presentation: cut scenes with integration into the gameplay to enhance tension. Compared to earlier installments, Lara Croft becomes a more relate able protagonist. Level Design: Levels build on the skills and tools you obtain. Levels do have areas that are more open then standard cinematic adventure games. Simple Set-up: On my system no need to make alterations outside of increasing visual settings. Cons: Overall game length: I completed the single player game with 3 days of intense playthrough. If you enjoy collectibles then your gametime lengthens. (of note multiplayer adds significant playtime) Easy Difficulty:Not much gets in the way of you devastating the game. Luckily the cinematic presentation gives you the illusion of tension but overall challenge is on par with the Uncharted and PoP games. Overall, I left very satisfied with the new Tomb Raider. If you enjoyed games such as Uncharted and Prince of Persia then you owe it to yourself to get this game. If you're looking for a showpiece for your new PC get this game as the PC version blows current PS2/XB360 games out of the water.
