Story Driven

migs008 | May 13, 2013 | Review of BioShock Infinite NA Post - PC

This game has some of the most inspiring visuals and design I have ever seen in a videogame. It makes you just want to see every single spot to make sure you've seen all that you can. The developers really have outdone themselves and worked really hard on this. Locations and the people are just wonderful. Everything from the buildings to the minute details are truly works of art. The story is one of the main driving points for me. I can see the plot being a bit complex and confusing for some but it really helps with making you guess how the outcome will be and creates plenty of surprises. It will keep you engaged emotionally. Your ally, Elizabeth really does appear to be more than just a bothersome NPC and becomes a good partner that makes players really care for her. I would go on to some of the other interesting and fun characters but I would not want to spoil it for anyone. If this were a novel, I bet it would be a New York Time's Bestseller. As for the gameplay, it really is not that much different from Bioshock 1 or 2 but the added skyline mechanic does quite well to add a different level of fun for players. Anyone else who plays FPS in a more traditional way, will find that aside from the new powers, its the same shooting mechanics you would see in any of the genre. Even with the just okay gameplay, I would still consider this game one of the best contender for Game of the Year!
