Possibly One of the Best PC Game of All Time

minoru09 | June 14, 2014 | Review of Mount & Blade: Warband

M&B Warband is a sandbox role-playing game set in medieval time, where you can be anyone you wanted to be. Whether you want to be a jerk who command your army to ransack nearby village, an honest trader, or a knight who's aiming to be a king someday, the game allows you to do so. The combat is really great, the multiplayer is alive and kicking and there are so many mods to install after you finish your first playthrough. Honestly a PC game couldn't be better than this.

Retro Platformer

minoru09 | June 8, 2014 | Review of Superfrog HD

Superfrog HD is a HD remake of the two decades old game of the same name. The gameplay is similar from other platforming like Sonic, you collect all the stuff on the screen while avoiding contact with enemies. This remastered edition improves the graphic while still giving a retro look. If you're a fan of the Sonic series, be sure to give this game a try.

Great Deal for Fans of the Series

minoru09 | June 8, 2014 | Review of Dungeon Siege Bundle

Dungeon Siege is an action RPG series in the similar vein of Diablo but with several addition like party members. It's sadly one of the most underrated series but like all underrated gems, there is a dedicated cult following. This bundles contain all the main series but lack of the expansion packs.

Be The Hitman

minoru09 | June 8, 2014 | Review of Hitman Pack

The Hitman series is a well-known name in the stealth genre. It's basically THE assasination game where you plan your move to execute your victim. There is still no game that can imitate that satisfying feel after you smoothly offed your target without a flaw. While Blood Money in my opinion is definitely the highest point of the series, the other three games also worth a try. My only complain is that it's missing the third game Contracts.

Underrated Gem

minoru09 | June 8, 2014 | Review of Quantum Conundrum Bundle

From the brilliant mind behind the Portal series, Quantum Conundrum offers similar puzzle mechanic involving dimensions switching. You are visiting your uncle house and for some reason your uncle is trapped in alternate dimensions. Using a device that can switch dimensions, you must solve different puzzles to save him. The graphic, while not breathtaking or anything, is really nice with that cartoony look. Unfortunately this game is never as big as Portal and that's quite a shame because the game is really fun albeit pretty short.

A Puzzle Game

minoru09 | June 8, 2014 | Review of Kill The Bad Guy

Just as the name suggest, the game challenges you to kill the bad guy. It's more of a stiff puzzle game though rather than a creative killing toybox like Hitman games. There are as many as 60 levels in this game. The game also has a dark humor undertone. Every one of your victims is given a profile, sometimes you find someone with familiar name like Hitler. It can be either funny or horrifying, it's up to you. Overall, if you like dark humor and puzzle game which involves killing a bad guy, try this game.

One of the Better GTA Clones

minoru09 | June 8, 2014 | Review of Sleeping Dogs Pack

There are just too many GTA clones in the market right now, ranging from the mediocres to something that can surpass GTA itself. I consider Sleeping Dogs to be the latter. The game is quite an amazing feat. A fantastic open world environment sets in Hong Kong. I really like the atmosphere of the city especially during rain, it's really immersive. The story itself isn't too shabby and can pass anytime as a good Hong Kong cinema movie. The gameplay also great and fun. In short, this is one of the better GTA clone out there.

Well Written Interactive Story

minoru09 | June 7, 2014 | Review of To The Moon

At the first glance, one can easily dismiss To The Moon because of its childish graphic, labeling it as another cheap RPG Maker game. However don't let the visual fool you. To The Moon is an example of how a video game can be an unique storytelling medium if it's done right.

You play as two scientists who are tasked to give a dying man another chance in his life to fullfil his dream... by altering the said man memories. You then follow the elder man's tale from his childhood and try to figure out how to make his dying wish come true.

In my years of playing video game, I've almost never encountered a story as touching as this. I'd be lying if I said I'm not tearing up near the end. The writer certainly did an excellent job to stir the emotion of the players. It's one rare gem that everyone needs to experience.

Good 'ol Civ

minoru09 | June 7, 2014 | Review of Sid Meier's Civilization® III Complete

Civilizations III is a brilliant game for the strategy addict. It's a classic that was able to live up to its predecessor titles. The depth of turn based gameplay and tons of choice will keep you coming back over and over again thus creating the 'just one more turn' mentality every Civ players know too well. Civilizations III has perfected the formula made by the previous games in the series which is why it's one of the best strategy game ever made.

Not worth your time

minoru09 | June 6, 2014 | Review of Flashback

It's a 're-imagined' of an almost two decades old game with the same name which can be considered as cult classic. That being said, aside from the graphical upgrade, the game doesn't have a single redeeming feature that makes it special and superior from the original. The controls are awkward, the audio and the voice acting are terrible and you have to deal with Uplay to boot. I know the majority of PC gamers are against using it. Anyway, this game is certainly not worth your time. Seek the original version instead.

Walking Simulator

minoru09 | June 6, 2014 | Review of Dear Esther

People weren't joking when they said that about Dear Esther. All you do is walking from one place to another. There's no interaction. Other than that, the atmosphere in this 'game' is really good. There's also story narrated by your character but it may or may not sounds too pretentious for you to care about it. In short, it's one of those thing that you have to experience it yourself to decide whether you like it or not. Do get it only if it's on a bundle though.

Excellent Bullet Hell

minoru09 | June 6, 2014 | Review of Danmaku Unlimited 2

It's a danmaku or bullet hell game. If you're not familiar with the genre, it's a game where you have to dodge all the bullets aimed at you in certain patterns while shooting at the enemies at the same time. This type of game needs to have tight controls and Danmaku Unlimited 2 certainly delivers. The soundtrack is a blast an the game also runs smoothly at 60 fps so you don't need to worry. While this game clearly seeks to appeal the niche audiences, you can't go wrong with $5.

One of the Best in the Genre

minoru09 | June 6, 2014 | Review of The Binding of Isaac

The Binding of Isaac is my first experience with the so-called 'roguelite' games. Since then I've played countless similar games with the same concept but I always come back to this game. Why? Because it simply has unlimited replayability. Every run you do has different item combinations and you have to use your reflex and experience to reach the final boss. The DLC is also a must if you enjoy the base game, as it contains more items, levels and enemies which can add more hours to your playtime.

Be the Fastest Ninja in the World

minoru09 | June 6, 2014 | Review of 10 Second Ninja

In 10 Seconds Ninja, you have exactly ten seconds to beat a level in which you have to defeat all the enemies. You can use your sword attack (melee) and shuriken (range). The shuriken can only be used up to 3 times. The main challenge of this game is how to be faster than your previous record. If you like going fast while being a ninja, don't look any further.

A Stylish Fighting Game

minoru09 | May 23, 2014 | Review of Skullgirls Bundle

As a fan of 2D fighting game, I was immediately interested in this game. Its stylish art style and slick animation are treats to my eyes. But the main attraction to Skullgirls is the solid gameplay. Not only it has everything a hardcore wants in a fighting game but it also quite beginner friendly with the fantastic tutorials. At least until you get into the online scene and getting your arse kicked by stranger. Also did I mention it has boobs, as in a lot of them?

A Charming Point 'n Click Adventure

minoru09 | May 20, 2014 | Review of Time Gentlemen Please! and Ben There Dan That! Special Edition Double Pack

As a fan of the older Sierra games, I found these two games really enjoyable. It has that flamboyant humor the old-school adventure games have. The games offer many interesting dialogues as each character reacts differently regarding of the item you use or the situation you're in which can be very funny. Nonetheless, both games are rather charming and I definitely would recommend them if you're into point 'n click adventure games.

Get your friends and play together

minoru09 | May 20, 2014 | Review of 100% Orange Juice

Seriously, you can play against the AI but it feels like the RNG god hates you.

Anyway, 100% Orange Juice is a party board game, which kinda rare in PC gaming. It features all-stars cast of characters from the previous Orange Juice games. The game is fairly easy to pick up., you can learn the game as you play. It's basically a board game meets card battle. It can be rage inducing at times but it's extremely fun especially if you can gather your friends and play together in multiplayer mode. While you're at it grab a mic and start voice-chat and expect trash-talking among your bros.

A Bizzare Visual Novel With TBS Element

minoru09 | May 20, 2014 | Review of War of the Human Tanks

First things first, this is technically a visual novel albeit not a pure one. It's a visual novel with a TBS element. As a visual novel this game is pretty text-heavy in which you'll probably spending more time reading through the text rather than in the actual combat. The writing itself relies heavily in anime tropes and stereotypes. Depends on who you are, you'll either like it or hate it. Though you can skip most of the text with a simple ctrl button.

The gameplay however, is rather solid. It plays out like the good 'ol Battleship with a twist. You can have several different units in the battle with their own usefulness. You can scout enemy with your Scout unit or you can just sacrifice your kamikaze unit and bomb the hell out of several grids with the enemies. Both you and enemy units die in one shot so you'll have to plan your battle carefully.

Overall the game is really fun and can be addicting to play. The story is rather bizzare as you can expected from a Japanese doujin game. If you like turn based strategy game and don't mind with long exposition then by all means do try this little gem.

A Fun But Short Hack and Slash

minoru09 | May 20, 2014 | Review of Croixleur Sigma

Croixleur Sigma is a hack and slash with cute anime-style graphics which offers a simple but solid gameplay mechanics. The combat is fluent and satisfying to do with different weapons to execute combo.

The story mode is unfortunately so short you can finish it in one sitting. Luckily there are enough extra contents in it to give you another one or two hours of gameplay. You can also try to be the best among your friend in online leaderboards.

Given a nature of it as a doujin game, it does look pretty nice. The soundtrack is nothing to write home about but it does its job fairly well to accompany you through the hacking and slashing. Also worth noting that the game has full Japanese voice-over.

If you expect story avoid this game at all cost but if you're looking for a cheap fun killing hordes of enemies as a cute anime girl, you're in the right place.
