Battle of City-Building Gamesmrminecrafter1 | Feb. 10, 2015 | Review of Cities XXL
Cities XXL is a city-building game that has drawn many comparisons to the famed series, SimCity. It does have many similar mechanics to SimCity such as zoning, road-building, and economy management. Graphics are fairly impressive, but not great. The main issue that plagues the game is technical problems. When zooming out during zoning, the frame rate just absolutely tanks to an abysmal 10 to 4 frames. There is the occasional corrupted save files, which is a pain to attempt to recover the original file (usually doesn't work) The gameplay is great, but the technical issues aren't so as great. Proceed with caution.
How to Next-Gen NBA 2Kmrminecrafter1 | Feb. 8, 2015 | Review of NBA 2K15
Let's start off by saying that the graphics are just gorgeous. Stunningly realistic with incredible details to nearly everything from the player's jersey to the ball itself. The gameplay is good, but not great. The shooting aspect has changed again this years as it does every year. A shot meter underneath your controlled player now tells you if you shot the ball correctly. It seems to be glitched and displays incorrect shot ratings, despite the meter being nearly perfect at times. Rebounding seems to have improved as the game showed improved physics. Defense has finally been able to upgraded decent. A real flaw in the gameplay is the A.I. Defensive A.I. is perfectly fine and functions normally. On offense though, the A.I. can seemingly make any shot near the end of the shot clock or the end of the game. There are plenty of game modes to chose from this year such as MyGM and MyTeam. The selection of game modes are just great as they all yield some sort of great playing value.
OVERALL: I would recommend this game to any basketball fan out there.
A Marriage of Parkour and Zombies in Dying Lightmrminecrafter1 | Jan. 31, 2015 | Review of Dying Light (NA)
It is what everyone has assumed about this game from the start. Mirror's Edge combined with Dead Island except slightly better. The gameplay is quite awesome in most aspects. The parkour really adds a new dynamic to fighting the undead. Alongside parkour, we are given combat melee moves, weapons, and even guns. Another component of the gameplay is when night falls. The world around you turns incredibly dark and the zombie's behavior drastically changes. They seem to have faster speed, aggressively pursue you more often, and do more damage. This only adds more to the importance of parkour in the game. There are also random events pitched in here and there to add variety.
Graphics: They are actually quite good. Impressive lighting and the gore is really sick, in a good way. You can essentially see the flesh of the zombies tear off as you hack and slash away at them. The art style is really amazing.
Technical: This is where the game seemed to run out of polish. There are many options for gameplay, video, and audio which is huge plus. But once you enter the game, something happens. Frames per second varies greatly going from 90 to 30 at times in my experience. There is the occasional flickering of textures such as the blood that appears on your screen. The game is ultimately NOT optimized properly, as it tends to only use 50% of the GPU's power and almost 100% of the first core of CPU. That is incredibly bad.
Overall I would still recommend this game as it is still fun to play despite the technical hiccups.
Pretty Good So Farmrminecrafter1 | Jan. 31, 2015 | Review of Life is Strange: Complete Season (Episodes 1-5)
From what I have played, the game has been pretty good. The game is heavily driven by the story and plays essentially like The Walking Dead and the Wolf Among Us. Visually, it is actually quite nice. It seems to be aiming for a semi-realistic look with a touch of cartoon. The developers really give attention to the littlest of details in their environments, making the world around you feel even more immersive. There are some technical issues with audio as it goes out of sync a bit, but there has been reports of a fix in the works. It is a good game so far and I would take a chance on it if I was a interested costumer.
Michael Bay's Dream Video Gamemrminecrafter1 | Jan. 7, 2015 | Review of Broforce
Broforce is hands down one of the best games I've played all year. The gameplay is responsive, quick, and full of explosions. A score of amazing characters to unlock. The visuals are just wonderful. Love the pixelated art style of the explosions matched with the pixel blood spewing from your enemy. There is not much of a story to a game, but that is a plus. It allows the players to create their own tale. I can only expect the game to get better as more content is continued to be added to their game.
A Confirmed Kill for Metal Gearmrminecrafter1 | Jan. 5, 2015 | Review of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
I have no idea what the title is supposed to mean, but I will tell you one thing. This game is incredible and exploded back onto the PC scene with flying colors. Graphics are absolutely stunning in nearly aspect. The water effects are gorgeous and the main mission showcases the spectacular lighting. Gameplay is extremely engaging, always putting the player on edge. There are many components to the game such as the interrogation of an opponent to discover new items on your map. The only complaint I have about the game is the length is that it is fairly short, but it was definitely a satisfying experience. I would recommend the game despite its short length.
Is that Sherlock? This is going to be a long day.mrminecrafter1 | Oct. 17, 2014 | Review of Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments
Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments does not even live up to the small amount of hype it had. The graphics isn't next-generation but it isn't too bad. It does have some moments of graphical awe, but those moments are short and rare. The storyline is pretty good actually alongside with the cases that are involved. Unfortunately the game seems to handle you like a little baby, and tell where to go, what to do, and so on. The audio is pretty much above average, nothing special. Overall, this game could've been better.
A Pretty Good Horror Gamemrminecrafter1 | Oct. 4, 2014 | Review of Alien: Isolation - Nostromo Edition
Aliens: Isolation is quite a good horror game. It perfectly captures the tense atmosphere of the original Aliens movie. Very well-paced as it combines the tension so well with the action sequences. I like this formula where it's no longer that you're the predator. You are the prey. The campaign clocks in at about 15 hours, which is fairly good. The graphics are amazing with a couple of lighting issues here and there. The A.I. of the Alien is really deep surprisingly. Overall this is a good horror game. Not one to go down in history as one of the best, but it is pretty good.
Unique Puzzle Gamemrminecrafter1 | Sept. 23, 2014 | Review of Kill The Bad Guy
Kill the Bad Guy is as simple as it gets. Kill your assigned target in various ways. The gameplay is surprisingly deep allowing for multiple variable to go off , allowing the player to find multiple ways to kill your target. The graphics are simple and hardly have any color besides grey, white and red basically. The sound effects are pretty decent in the game. Ragdoll physics are accurately portrayed as far as I can say. Overall I would recommend this game for a nice puzzle challenge.
A Great Bundle of War Strategy Gamesmrminecrafter1 | Sept. 9, 2014 | Review of Company of Heroes: Complete Pack
This is one of the more modern revisions of the strategy-war genre. Hands-down, one of the best strategy games out there. Not the best but definitely top 10. Company of Heroes alongside with it's expansions makes it a complete worthwhile package. Alongside of battling other opponents by actually using proper military tactics, resource-gathering and some base-building is included which is a great addition. Graphics are fantastic considering the age of the game and it also has a surprising amount of detail in the environment. Overall this is a great pickup.
Space Engineer: Just Wowmrminecrafter1 | Aug. 29, 2014 | Review of Space Engineers
This game is still in development (sort of) but it has an absurd amount of potential. The game places in the role of some random space engineer. From there, it's up to you. The entire beautifully randomly generated world is yours to explore. It feels amazing to float through space.Plenty of good base-building and crafting. Ships would occasionally appear near you and you could hijack it and pilot it. The game does need some improvement such as a guide for beginners. It is rather hard to grasp the game at the first but after awhile the game's basics are mastered. Overall this indie game has got alot of potential. Actual legit potential.
Facelift for A Great Gamemrminecrafter1 | Aug. 28, 2014 | Review of Metro 2033 Redux (NA)
Metro 2033 receives a facelift after going through 4A's Next Gen Engine. The game itself creates such a breath-taking environment. The vastly updated graphics sell the atmosphere even more. The gameplay is quite good. The guns feel great to use. Several different mechanics adds a unique twist to the game. The stealth has been improved thanks to the engine. Overall this is recommended. A great post-apocalyptic shooter that only gets better with the engine upgrade.
A Great 2K Bundlemrminecrafter1 | Aug. 28, 2014 | Review of 2K Ultimate Pack
A great selection of games from strategy to sports to shooters. All of the games above are of great quality with the exception of Duke Nukem Forever. NBA 2K14 is one of the best basketball video games on the market right now. Civilization 5 and XCOM: Enemy Within are both excellent strategy games. Specs Op: The Line is a shooter with an actual good story. Mafia 2 is an incredible open-world game. Borderlands 2 is also an amazing open-world shooter that is rich with depth and story. Everything else in the bundle I have no actual knowledge of, so feel free to check out user reviews about it. An amazing bundle!
Terrible Fighting Gamemrminecrafter1 | Aug. 17, 2014 | Review of Kick-Ass 2
Kick-Ass 2 is just terrible. There are many flawed aspects of the game. The story should've been a bit better but it just failed to captivate me. Gameplay is dreadfully boring. Nothing new is added to a Batman-like combat system, only the pace is much slower and the A.I. is even more stupid. Graphics tries to take on an approach between Borderlands and realism. It is not pretty and looks quite bad. Sound is subpar at best. This game is not a great fighting game at all. Not Recommended
Risen 3: It Still Has Risen Past It's Expectationsmrminecrafter1 | Aug. 17, 2014 | Review of Risen 3: Titan Lords NA
Risen 3: Titan Lords is above average at best. Combat is actually good but the enemies you face are either too fast (almost teleporting) or the enemies are too difficult. The story and quests are ok. The quests need a bit more depth and the story is not very engaging. Graphics are ok. A couple of nice spots with nice visuals. It's plagued by oddly low framerates at odd moments such as the beginning of the game. Overall it's ok.
Meh. Another Generic Shooter.mrminecrafter1 | Aug. 16, 2014 | Review of Manhunter
A FPS shooter that puts you in the role of a hitman. It's nothing special. The story is bland and simple. Graphically, it is subpar compared to the plethora catalog of shooter games. The gameplay is actually executed quite well to a certain extent. The stealth system and A.I. works but at the most basic levels of it. The system is nothing special but at least it works properly. Another FPS game. What else can I really say.
Zombie Killer In A Carmrminecrafter1 | Aug. 14, 2014 | Review of Zombie Driver
Zombie Driver is as simple as it sounds. You drive at insane speeds while killing off hordes of zombies. While the depth of the upgrade and unlockable system is rather shallow, it serves it's purpose quite good. Allowing the player to upgrade their car on the fly is a really nice, convenient feature. It's nothing special but the game is certainly unique. A well-executed game that combines two completely genres: zombies and driving. Graphics are pretty decent, but the sound design is at best above average. This game is pretty good and serves as a nice arcade game.
An Example of A Basically Perfect RPG Gamemrminecrafter1 | Aug. 11, 2014 | Review of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim®
This is one of the generation's best games out there. Skyrim is overflowing with so much content packed into the game. The rich lore and storytelling really immerses you into the wonderfully detailed world. Graphics are quite good, but thanks to Steam Workshop you can improve it even more. Gameplay is amazing with incredibly deep crafting, magic, skill trees, and even more. There is so much more that I could mention such as the fantastic voice acting and sound design, but the game is much better if you experience it yourself. Recommended with an awesomeness badge.
Medieval Combat Simulatormrminecrafter1 | Aug. 11, 2014 | Review of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is one of the best medieval games out there. The gameplay is based around swords, bows, and a variety of other medieval-related weapons. Getting a kill is satisfying after properly learning how to dodge and block attacks in the well-done tutorial. Graphics are quite good considering it was made on the Unreal Engine. The environment has been done really well. A lot of detail has been put into the world of Chivalry and it definitely makes you feel immersed in the game. Sound design is just phenomenal. The satisfying slice of flesh as you rip into your enemies, one by one. Overall this game is just fantastic. I would definitely recommend this game.
Neat Soccer Gamemrminecrafter1 | Aug. 9, 2014 | Review of FootLOL: Epic Fail League
FootLOL: Epic Fail League brings a new twist to the soccer genre. Instead of directly controlling your players, you indirectly help your team score goals while attempting to sabotage the opposing team. The beginning of this game is rather boring because you're given some really boring power-ups to help out your team. The more you dig into the game, the more fun it gets. There is multiplayer, but there is hardly anybody online to play with. You're probably better off, just trying to buy two copies and giving it to a friend. It's quite a good waste of a time if you just want to kick back and play a game without concentrating much. It's recommended as an arcade game.
Essentially Terraria, but with even more goodness.mrminecrafter1 | Aug. 6, 2014 | Review of Starbound
Starbound is essentially Terraria but in space. From a casual gamer's perspective, the graphics look the same between the two games. But the graphics have found a neat spot between arcadey and realism somehow. Gameplay is almost the same, but if it ain't broken why bother fixing it. It is still fun and engaging to the player. Soundtrack is very nice. The new feature, quest system, is well executed and offers good rewards for your hard work. Animation quality is fluid and hardly is there ever any odd animations. Physics are also pretty good for this game. As more feautres are added in and bugs are fixed, the game can only get better. A well-done survival game set in space which allows creativity options to increase exponentially. Recommended for gamers looking for survival games.
Failure and Liesmrminecrafter1 | Aug. 4, 2014 | Review of Aliens: Colonial Marines
After the game demo was shown, hype for the game massively grew. But then the game released and the doors were busted in to show a game that was nothing like the original demo. The artificial intelligence of your teammates and the aliens are dumbed down. Graphics are noticeably worse than the demo. Sound design is pretty decent. The multiplayer of the game is ok at best but for the most is pretty terrible. The story combined with the voice acting have one thing in common. Both are incredibly bland. Overall this is a game that I wouldn't recommend. It's a FPS game that is another forgotten title in the FPS bargain bin.
A Nice Twist To Saints Rowmrminecrafter1 | Aug. 1, 2014 | Review of Saints Row IV
Saints Row 4 is one of the craziest/silliest games you could possibly play. You play as the president and must defend your country by beating up the invading aliens with some awesome laser gun. The game is no way serious and the story is something that I actually enjoy. The gameplay is awesome but has a bit of a flaw. Since your character is given superpowers such as speed and flying, it makes all of the vehicles in the game basically obsolete since you can get from point A to B faster than if you're driving a vehicle. Really neat weapons to use and the animations in the game are fairly good. Graphics are fairly good but it has optimization problem, so expect lower than expected framerates and framerate drops. Sound design is pretty good and also solid voice acting. The enemies you face need a bit more diversity. Overall I would recommend this game. If you are looking for a different a new spin on the open-world genre, you should definitely give Saints Row a try.
One of the Better Simulatorsmrminecrafter1 | July 31, 2014 | Review of Car Mechanic Simulator Complete Edition
Car Mechanic Simulator is obviously limited to a small group of gamers. For me, I decided to buy this for laughs and was entertained for a bit. This game isn't bad in terms of gameplay. A fairly good range of options to repair the vehicles that you are given. Test driving them is also good fun considering physics kinda exist in the world of Car Mechanic Simulator. Graphics are decent but there are some graphical bugs here and there. It's a nice game that should be picked up for laughs or just to burn some time if you have the cash. Get the game when it has a discount.
This Game Is...Mehmrminecrafter1 | July 31, 2014 | Review of Enemy Front
Enemy Front is a WW2 shooter game that attempts to create a compelling story about a journalist Robert Hawkins. It's rather disappointing because the story falls flat. It makes several attempts to make the story engaging but all attempts are so-so. For a journalist, you have a surprisingly good trigger finger against the Nazis. The guns are pretty generic but the animation quality for all of the guns is well polished. Each gun performs like they should and are easy to master if you're pretty decent at FPS games. The A.I. is questionable and leaves the stealth system begging for an opportunity to shown its true quality. There are basically two options to tackle the missions. Either fire off your weapons like a madman or sneak past your dumb-minded enemies. You can also sprint through the missions which is a sad aspect of this game. The multiplayer is nothing special and also has the occasional lag in the game (as well as terrible hit detection due to the lag on servers). Graphics are pretty good considering the budget of the team behind this game. Sound is pretty good as well. Overall it's ok, but was a disappointment story-wise.
Best Basketball Game On The PC Marketmrminecrafter1 | July 27, 2014 | Review of NBA 2K14 (NA)
NBA 2K14 is widely labeled as a roster update in the PC market. While it does have flaws, it is still one of the best basketball games on the market. While the new engine that 2K used for the PS4 and XB1 versions is not used in this one, there are some minor and small improvements to basically everything. Graphics are slightly better and the sound design of the game is still fantastic. Commentary is a bit old due to the occasional loop but it is still pretty good. Gameplay is still fun as usual but the control scheme method has changed once again. It's fairly hard to play comfortably or properly with a keyboard, so a controller is recommended. The ability to mod the game is absolutely amazing. It helps improve the game and is fairly easy to mod thanks to 2K only having 2 folders to put mods in. Overall the game is fantastic, but if you already have any previous NBA 2K games then I would recommend waiting for an extreme discount.
Still A Solid Gamemrminecrafter1 | July 27, 2014 | Review of FIFA 14 (NA)
FIFA 14 is not a game-changing game. That doesn't make it bad though. It is still pretty solid with more minor improvements to the overall core of the game. Physics are absolutely fantastic but it does kinda like to make the weirdest movements such as a celebration that looks like a kiss. Controls are better with a controller because of the analog stick's precision, which is necessary to play the game more comfortably. Graphics are fantastic and are one of the best looking sports game on the PC market. A wide range of modes that are actually good is also a nice addition. The only real problem is the technical issues. Occasional screen tearing is my number one problem and also a dip in framerate once in a while. Otherwise, it is still a solid soccer game that is one of the best in the PC market.
One of The Best Story-Telling Games In Video Game Historymrminecrafter1 | July 25, 2014 | Review of The Walking Dead
The zombie theme is a bit saturated, but Telltale has made it better. The story is based around Lee, the character you control, who is forced to fight off the zombie apocalypse while protecting some little girl who happens to save his life. While the zombies are a danger, the people who you meet are even more dangerous. Choices you make tremendously impact the storyline and also affect how other characters view you. One of the best stories in gaming history. The visual fits the game nicely and doesn't draw attention away from the gameplay or story. Gameplay consists of dialog choices, QTEs, and the occasional shooting. It's not too great or bad but the main selling point is the story. The controls are a bit wonky and the camera is a bit weird, but it still is playable. The soundtrack is fantastic as well as the sound design for the zombies for example. Overall this is one of the best games out there.
Impressive Technologymrminecrafter1 | July 21, 2014 | Review of SPINTIRES
Spintires is one of the most realistic vehicle simulators on the PC market. The technology that is used in the game is absolutely amazing. Graphics are top-notch and the physics are incredible. The only real problem with the game is the gameplay itself. There is hardly any content besides lumbering wood and other jobs. There is multiplayer but you'll need to find a buddy willing to cough up money for some laughs in the game. A great technological achievement but not exactly a fun game.
One of the Best Arcade Shootersmrminecrafter1 | July 20, 2014 | Review of Left 4 Dead 2
This is another FPS shooter. Yay, he said sarcastically. But wait. The gameplay is fantastic in my opinion. I like the arcade feel of the game combined with hordes of zombies charging at you. Shooting barely has any recoil and it's really simplified compared to other shooters. It helps newcomers adapt to the game quite easily. The single-player campaign could be better, but the real joy is playing with friends. A small variety of zombies but the small cast is really great. Graphics are a bit dated but it is a 2009 game, so it gets a pass. Sound design is quite good with convincing horrifying zombie screams. Overall it's a really great FPS arcade game that is easy to learn for newcomers. Recommended.
Great Game, But....mrminecrafter1 | July 16, 2014 | Review of Titanfall (NA)
It's a really well executed FPS game. The addition of jetpacks, parkour, and mechs really add some unique aspects to the gameplay. It's absolutely thrilling being given the ability to chain together infantry kills. The weapons are really well balanced and are great to use. The Titans aren't too powerful but they are certainly useful in combat. Graphics are pretty good and the game barely has any technical issues. The problem is the depth of the game. It lacks customization options for anything in the game. Titans have limited customisable options. Weapons are also included. Even your character is limited to pre-set options. A small number of maps that while are good, needs a bit more added to it's collection. More unique gamemodes would also help the game. All in all, a pretty good FPS title.
An Underrated Gamemrminecrafter1 | July 13, 2014 | Review of Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is an extremely good game in my opinion. In this game, you could do basically anything. Blow up a car, hide a body, the typical open-world stuff. The depth of the systems implemented in this game is surprising deep especially the stealth system which is done pretty well. Graphics are pretty good with impressive lighting. The story is a bit corny at times but still pretty good at best. Overall I would recommend this game. RPG + Action + Open-World = Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Recommended.
A True Testament to the Showmrminecrafter1 | July 10, 2014 | Review of South Park™: The Stick of Truth™
This is the best video game that respects the show it's based on unlike the Family Guy game. Great comedy and acting that makes you feel like you're part of the South Park TV show. The RPG elements is done really well but it does have a few problems here and there. Story is really great and the environment is done pretty good with many different areas to explore. Sound design is excellent as well as the soundtrack. A recommendation is guaranteed from me.
GRID Autosport: Not the best, but not the worst.mrminecrafter1 | July 10, 2014 | Review of GRID Autosport (NA)
GRID Autosport is another racing game in the PC market. It fits more along the lines of a simulation racing game which fits well for some people. The graphics are pretty good and are definitely an improvement over previous installments of the series. The driving is quite good with accurate depiction of how each car feels. The A.I. is smarter than before but by a small amount. Overall it's a pretty good game, but it's not my cup of tea.
Godus: Game or Clicking Simulator?mrminecrafter1 | July 6, 2014 | Review of Godus
This game has drawn quite the controversy. Gameplay mainly consist of clicking which is pretty boring for me at least. Artistic style is unique and reminds me of Tearaway's artistic style. It's pretty boring as you play a God that is supposed to help your population of followers through the times of history. Sound design is pretty decent and the soundtrack isn't necessarily good or bad. Overall it's pretty boring. Unless clicking is your thing, avoid this early access game. Another early access game that's pretty terrible. Shocker.
A Medieval RPG Game done right.mrminecrafter1 | July 6, 2014 | Review of The Banner Saga
An excellent RPG game set in the medieval times that puts you into the task of starting your epic journey. The strategy involved is incredibly crafted. Every decision you make will affect in a rather different and significant way. Managing your caravan is just as important as combat in this game. Great sound design and also a really good soundtrack. The artistic style of the game is really great and fits the game nicely. Recommended.
Tomb Raider: A Wonderful Gamemrminecrafter1 | June 25, 2014 | Review of Tomb Raider
This is different from the rest of the series. That doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. The graphics in this game are absolutely outstanding and ranks up in the top 10 most beautiful games on my list. The story is incredible, thanks to the excellent voice acting and animation. Watching Lara Croft grow throughout the game is really amazing. Gameplay is pretty good while admittedly linear. Every weapon is fun to use especially the bow. I would no doubt about it, pick it up. But caution to all Tomb Raider fans: This is a different game from the rest of the series. Completely different.
Tropico 5: Still Pretty Goodmrminecrafter1 | June 25, 2014 | Review of Tropico 5
Tropico 5 is not the best in the series. But that does not mean the Tropico series isn't a great series. The gameplay has been given a few minor changes here and there. Graphics are pretty good considering it's a strategy game. Soundtrack is enjoyable as always. The customization for your dictator has been reduced which seems slightly odd to me. It still feels like a Tropico game but with a few minor changes here and there. Overall I would recommend this game if you are looking for a SimCity-like game.
Valiant Hearts: A Sad Disappointmentmrminecrafter1 | June 24, 2014 | Review of Valiant Hearts - The Great War (NA)
I really had high hopes for this game. The storytelling is really fantastic in this game as well as the artistic style. It's more like a comic book than a video game overall. There are hardly any mechanics in the game and the ones that do exist are barely passable. I love story-driven games but a bit more gameplay and the game would've done better. Soundtrack and sound is excellent. The game overall isn't as great as I wished. Unfortunately, this game doesn't stand out. Recommended for people who look for story-driven games.
Quirky, but good.mrminecrafter1 | June 24, 2014 | Review of Lords of Football
A unique twist on the soccer management genre. It adds a bit of Sims-gameplay to your team. There are multiple things you have to manage besides just the playstyle of your team on the soccer field. I have a bit more fun with this game mainly due to unintended comedy by players. Graphics are a bit outdated compared to today's games but I mainly blame game's budget. Sound is decent, but definitely needs more work. Overall I would recommend this game if it has a discount.
Space Run: A Neat Gamemrminecrafter1 | June 24, 2014 | Review of Space Run
Space Run is basically a moving tower-defense game. Your spaceship has to transport various materials and you have to defend against various obstacles. The gameplay is suprisingly fun. The frantic micro-management against incoming waves of enemies is really fun. Sound design is pretty good as well as the soundtrack. Graphical fidelity is pretty good considering the budget of this game. Overall this game is pretty good. I would recommend this to fans of tower-defense games. I'm not a fan of those games and this game just shows how well they impressed me.
Garden Warfare Reviewmrminecrafter1 | June 24, 2014 | Review of Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare (NA)
This game is pretty fun. Not made for hardcore gamers, so don't expect too much for this game. After all this game is marketed for casual shooters and children, so the game might not appeal to you. The artistic style and graphic fidelity of the game is wonderful. Sound design is excellent and the soundtrack barely loops. The game is fun to play, but only at short bursts of 1-2 hour sessions. Depth and customization is fairly limited compared to shooters like Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4. But I think it deserves the slide here. Overall this is a fairly fun game that you should get. But only at a discount.
Lifeless Planet: I'm a bit lifeless after play this gamemrminecrafter1 | June 19, 2014 | Review of Lifeless Planet
I'm not really a huge of adventure games. This may be the reason why. The environment is basically bare which leaves the planet lifeless. It makes sense considering the title of the game is "Lifeless Planet" but it makes for a really boring game. Graphics are amazing in this game. It's Crysis-level amazing but it has that sense it's simply beautiful. A bit of light platforming here and there, but it's not really enough to sell it as a platformer game. Story-wise, it's pretty decent. Bored the hell out of me, but this is because of my personal preference of games. After a friend's recommendation, I played his copy of the game and I now regret the decision to play.
Don't Starve: Best Indie RPG gamemrminecrafter1 | June 19, 2014 | Review of Don't Starve
Don't Starve is simply fantastic. The fact that it's an indie title is just mind-blowing considering it's not made by a AAA company. Gameplay is diverse and really in-depth with resource gathering, excellent fighting mechanics, and random world generation. The atmosphere is sold so well thanks to the excellent sound design. The unique cast of characters you can choose to play as is also a nice welcome. The art style of the game is done really well. There are hardly any technical issues which is a good thing considering it's a PC game. Overall this game is astoundingly great and shows the gaming industry the potential of indie gaming.
A Solid Outing for Wolfensteinmrminecrafter1 | June 19, 2014 | Review of Wolfenstein: The New Order
This game is a pretty good addition to the franchise. Not one of the best shooters out in the market right now, but it certainly is more than above average. The story of B.J. Blazkowicz is just phenomenal. B.J. is a really like-able character alongside with all the other characters in the story. The diverse environment is really good which is essential for this game considering it's only single-player. Graphics are impressive at moments. I don't like the linear level design but it is being retailed as a classic shooter with modern improvements. It is still fun even if the level design is a bit weak, but that little flaw I noted is because I never grew up with old classic shooters. Overall this game is pretty good.
Recommendation Level: For FPS gamers, this deserves a bit of attention.
Max Payne 3: Review Timemrminecrafter1 | June 13, 2014 | Review of Max Payne 3: Complete Pack
Max Payne 3 is one of the most polished video game I've seen. The graphics are stunning and physics react accordingly. Gunplay feels great and having bullet time gives you that moment of badassness, gunning down drug dealers with dual Berettas. The selection of guns is quite decent to say the least. The story is really good and has alot of backstory, so if you're new to this, then start reading on Max Payne. Multiplayer is decent at best. Framerate is smooth with a good video card. The only cons to this game is it's multiplayer and significant download size of 35 GB.
A Review of Injustice: Gods Among Usmrminecrafter1 | June 11, 2014 | Review of Injustice: Gods Among Us - Ultimate Edition (NA)
It is a superb fighting game. On PC, it maybe one of the best options available . Compared to games like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, it is not better than those two series. But the gameplay is just marvelous. Interaction with the environment during fights is a really interesting game mechanic that works well. The soundtrack fits the game, but it is not something that I would prefer to listen to after a while. The graphics are pretty good but it is not the main thing that will wow you. The cast of characters to fight with are astounding, with plenty of good choices.
Overall I recommend this excellent fighting game.
Counter Strike: GO : Watch out, we got ourselves a champion.mrminecrafter1 | May 25, 2014 | Review of Counter Strike: Global Offensive
The newest iteration of the Counter Strike is simply amazing. Everything has been improved and the series has taken a step forward with Global Offensive. The fun is still there and the graphics has drastically improved. Gunplay is still fun to play with. With Steam trading cards and buy-able in-game items, it only makes the experience better. The atmosphere of the game is simply created by the game and the players themselves. Every moment you keep your eyes peeled for the next enemy, fingers ready on the trigger. If you want an easy entry into the PC FPS games, this title is a must. Another great shooter title in the gaming industry.
Call of Duty Ghosts: A Former Shadow of Itselfmrminecrafter1 | May 25, 2014 | Review of Call of Duty: Ghosts NS
Call of Duty Ghosts is not the best game in the series by more than a mile. The campaign was quite interesting with the whole Ghosts concept. I actually enjoyed it a bit until the space parts came in. Space warfare was new and interesting but it didn't quite fit into the Ghosts concept for me at least. Underwater battles was basically space warfare except the clips sunk down to the ocean floor instead of floating off into space. Multiplayer was still the same. It's good but gets boring quite quickly. The movie DLC as I call them adds a small twist but is not enough to cover up all the flaws. Overall it is rather disappointing.
Civilization 5: The God of All Strategy Gamesmrminecrafter1 | May 25, 2014 | Review of Sid Meier’s Civilization® V
Hands down, the Civilization series is one of the best strategy games in gaming history. While Civilization 5 is not the best of the series, it still is one of the best games out right now. It has a bunch of content and involves quite a good amount of planning and thinking to win the game. Some of the DLC such as "Brave New World" and "Gods and Kings" should've already been in the game. Just be careful though. It's extremely addicting. Pick up your copy and conquer the might world with your Civilization.
Definitely a competitormrminecrafter1 | May 20, 2014 | Review of Mafia II
Mafia 2 is simply amazing. The storyline is unique and the characters are well developed. The atmosphere and detail of the game is just stunning. You could almost feel like you were actually in the city, roaming around as Vito Scaletta. There a couple of annoyances such as the voice-overs which are a bit irritating to the ears at times. Driving is a bit debatable. To some people, it feels realistic and great; while other people think that driving is like trying to drive across ice. Overall the game is definitely worth a shot and hopefully a new sequel comes out. GTA and Saints Row, watch out for Mafia.
Be The Goatmrminecrafter1 | May 20, 2014 | Review of Goat Simulator
Goat Simulator is quite an interesting game if you can tell. You're controlling a goat for heaven's sake. It definitely is enjoyable depending on who you are. I like to have a good laugh once in a while and playing the game definitely gets a laugh out of me. The concept makes fun of other simulator games by having the terrible physics which to be honest is actually quite good. The graphical quality of the game is superb and actually looks good. The content of the game should keep you entertained for about 5-9 hours possibly. Even more content is being added so even more derpiness. A goat game. Simple as that. Get it.
Need for Speed: Most Wantedmrminecrafter1 | Feb. 16, 2014 | Review of Need for Speed Most Wanted (NA)
This review is going to be hated by most NFS veterans for several reasons: 1. It likes Burnout Paradise but with a more serious approach. 2. Not a true sequel to the original Most Wanted. But for newcomers to the arcade racing and NFS series, this game is really good. The driving is nice and is not too hard to learn. Your way of unlocking new cars is by exploring the world which I think is pretty unique. The police A.I. and chases feel action-packed without going too dull too fast. The missions and activities get repetitive as you start to pass them. The graphics are superb and the sound design is fantastic. Looking for a racing game to start with? Pick this up.
A little disappointingmrminecrafter1 | Feb. 10, 2014 | Review of Batman Arkham Origins
Let's cut to the chase shall we. The city was definitely big, but it had the San Andreas syndrome. Too much space with too little people. The story was certainly unique and cool, so credit there. The combat system is still solid and nearly identical. So in the end, Batman: Arkham Origins is not as good as the first two games but should still be enjoyable to most people. It is especially enjoyable to newcomers of the Batman series.
Ultimate Dealmrminecrafter1 | Oct. 19, 2013 | Review of Borderlands 2: Game of the Year Edition (NA)
This is not ground breaking in anyway. But it is more than fun to play. The gameplay is so interesting with a nice story to fall back on. With buddies to play with, it's get even better. Just the thrill of defeating your foes and trying to scramble to them faster than your friends, is just amazing. It's definitely a good deal. DLCs are more than decent. This is the time to buy it!
