"Requiescat in Pace !"neokratos48 | Aug. 22, 2014 | Review of Assassin's Creed 2 Deluxe Edition
Well, after playing many hours to AC I, I had many expectations about this second opus...and I am not deceived, at all. This game is like the first one, but best, in all ways. You are more free (you can swim this time), cities are larger, Venice is amazing, you can meet characters that you are more inclined to know (I am thinking right there of Leonardo Da Vinci) who have really made history. By being the first one of an Ezio trilogy which was going to be very interesting, it is a turning point in our way of playing videogames. I think that I may remember this game as a game which taught me a lot, about Renaissance and Italy. The metastory is going quite further, but not really fast enough.
A story about History.neokratos48 | Aug. 22, 2014 | Review of Assassin's Creed
This game is for me the achievement of one of my childhood dreams. It allows me to go back into the past and live the life of who could be my ancestors. It is one of the many strengths of this videogame. You are invited to identify yourself to another occidental character, Desmond, who is living throughout is memory the life of one of his ancestors, who was a Middle-East assassin. I also liked this setting of the place, which is quite unusual in videogame. We have the impression of living in this place, of being able to interact with NPC, and to be a real individual in this world. What is also really interesting is the fact that we feel totally free to go everywhere we want, to discover the world from the roofs of highest building of the world which has been set up for you. The story is quite interesting even if missions doesn't have enough variety of gameplay and missions may get quite repetitive.(and you are a master assassin, and you can not swim, I'm still seeking for the mistake..) Nevertheless, qualities are really taking the advantage over fault, and If you like history, free running, and basic metastorys : you can buy hit closing your eyes.
A expansive little pack...neokratos48 | Aug. 21, 2014 | Review of Trials Fusion Riders of the Rustlands DLC
It is always a pleasure to come back to Trial fusion, because all of those who have played this game knows what it cost, to play it, to die and retry. Even if I had fun to play it, it didn't worth the investment. It could be better in a GOTY edition. The new tracks are quite interesting but it is not enough for a dlc, when you can have an access to thousand of tracks made by the community...
A good (but not great) gameneokratos48 | Aug. 21, 2014 | Review of The Saboteur
The Saboteur is a game which is quite interresting. The setting is quite unusual for a GTA-like and it is quite refreshing to discover a great city, Paris, controlling a resistant, during the WWII. This game could have been great, if the AI had been less...how to say... strange. I would have also liked this game to be more serious and less charicatural. There are great ideas like the ambiance of the town, and the art realisation. Gun-fights are explosive, but the infiltration is not as good as it could have been. Now the price is greatly decrease, I think that it isn't a lost of money to buy and play it, if you are in a lack of video game to play.
A new way of playing...neokratos48 | Aug. 21, 2014 | Review of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
Brothers : A Tale of two Sons is a videogame like there isn't any other one like it. The title of the game is indeed well chosen. More than a videogame, it as to be experienced as a tale, like the Grimm's one. What as really impressed me was the ability of this game to put aside enchanting landscape and violent and disturbing scenes. Controling the two characters create a real link between you (the player) and this two brothers who are putting their life in danger to save their fathers. Obviously, the game is'nt perfect (it has a serious lack of challenge) but thanks to its story, it worth to be played.
« To infinity... and beyond »neokratos48 | Aug. 21, 2014 | Review of Mass Effect 2
Whoa...That was my first reaction when I first finished this game, a game, which isn't getting old even if it as been released few years ago. Graphism are astonishing, and so is the realisation, with great dark ambiances. This gameset is darker than the first one of the trilogy, and it is one of its many strength. It is with great pleasure that we discover a world with many interractive characters, who all are individuals. Every second character have a story that we are invited to discover to earn their loyalty. I can only invite you to live this experience of a game which allows you to live a every child dream : Discover the space and its infinity.
Welcome to Dubai !neokratos48 | Aug. 18, 2014 | Review of Spec Ops: The Line
When I first saw a video about this game, I thought that it will be an other game like hundreds of those who were in the market, and I didn't really know what that I was about to play what would turn to be a masterpiece. In fact, I think I have never played a game which really turn me upside down like this one (maybe after thoughts, Bioshock...). In fact, this game is not just a war game like any other one, it is more a game about war, and our connection to violence in videogame. Every single moment, and details seems to be thought to encourage reflection about what we are playing day after day. I think that you can't really understand what the developpers wanted to show without playing it at least 2 or 3 times. The evolution of the main character and the few secondary one is really interresting, and is a real descent into darkness/hell. To me, the best advice I can give you is to play this game, you won't be disapointed !
