Challenging and fantastic shooter!

nleibert | Oct. 22, 2013 | Review of Alien Rage - PC

I bought Alien Rage from GMG on release day not knowing what to expect but after playing through it I was blown away by how much I enjoyed it. This is a fantastic budget shooter from CI Games and it can be very challenging at times which I absolutely loved because I got such a great feeling after I defeated a hard boss or made it past a difficult part. The graphics in Alien Rage are pretty good and were much better then I expected from the Unreal Engine...the scenery of alien ships can get a little bit repetitive but that doesn't prevent them from looking great! There are 14 levels in the game and several huge bosses that really provide a challenge (but they never frustrate you). I honestly can't recommend this game enough, it's a great FPS that any shooter fan will love!

A great casual action RPG game

nleibert | Aug. 2, 2013 | Review of Dungeon Siege III - PC

Dungeon Siege 3 is a great action RPG game that has some dark graphics and some fun game play that provide a nice well rounded casual like RPG. The graphics/visuals in DS3 are superb a long with the sound so you are easily sucked into the game. Dungeon Siege 3 definitely has taken a step back from the old Dungeon Siege games and no longer has a lot of the options that the older games in the series had but that isn't necessarily bad (the older games in the series had a tendency to get repetitive FAST). The story takes precedent in this game more so then the old ones and I thoroughly enjoyed the story in this game. The major problems I had with Dungeon Siege were probably that the game isn't as open world as most action RPG games are and the story can drag on at points (but it does get much better).

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is one of my all time favorites!

nleibert | Aug. 2, 2013 | Review of Deus Ex Human Revolution (1) - PC

I absolutely loved the first Deus Ex game and played the heck out of it as a kid so when I heard that there was a new Deus Ex game coming out called Deus Ex: Human Revolution...I was stoked to say the least! Deus Ex: Human Revolution gives the player an amazing futuristic world to play out a well rounded story. In this game you can choose to play through it stealthily or you can go in guns blazing and you have a sweet set of skills you can choose and upgrade as you dwell deeper into the story. If you decide to go through the game playing as a stealth character there are multiples routes you can take (such as going through vents, putting enemies to sleep and scaling the rooftops without enemies noticing) or if you take the action route there's some awesome skills and weapons you can use and upgrade to decimate your enemies! The graphics are fantastic and show off a world where technology is taking over, everything is crisp and detailed so you actually feel like each of the hubs in the game are a living breathing city. The only problem I had with Deus Ex: Human Revolution is that some of the boss fights can be frustrating and if you have taken the stealth route the boss fights can be even harder because you can't take them out nonlethally. If you liked the original Deus Ex, this game provides more of the same great gameplay and if you haven't played the original but you like action-rpg like games that let you choose how you play through them and upgrade skills along the'll LOVE this game!

Fantastic story with some great gameplay

nleibert | July 26, 2013 | Review of Spec Ops The Line Overflow - PC

Spec Ops: The Line provides you with an amazing (but depressing!) story that will really captivate you and have you on an emotional rollercoaster throughout the entire game. The gameplay of Spec Ops: The Line is pretty generic but still lots of fun and it can be very challenging at times with how many enemies they throw at you. The scenery of the game was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and Spec Ops does a great job of putting you in Dubai and giving you the experience of fighting in a desolate sand filled city (you can even use the sand and environment to your advantage during some of the battles). If you're in the mood for an action game with an amazing and emotional story with some great gameplay, than you'll love Spec Ops: The Line!
