Quite unique experiencenurz | April 10, 2012 | Review of Spells of Gold
If you look for good hack & slash look elsewhere. If you look for gripping story, complex combat or maybe expanded NPC relations look also elsewhere. But there is one unique feature - trading. I know that you can trade on almost every role playing game on market but there are few titles from genre which allows you trading in for pure profit purpose. The game itself is mediocre but it could give some fun if you like the mix of light rpg & light trading game.
Turn-based classicnurz | April 10, 2012 | Review of Disciples II: Gold Edition
Always in the shadow of Heroes of Might & Magic series, but much appreciated in the gaming community. With Gold Edition we get hours of highly addictive gameplay so if you didn't have opportunity to taste world of Nevendaar it's high time to do this. Despite playing in turns game is fast-paced so you won't get bored. More intense & more dark then HoMM - don't be afraid to try it.
Educational funnurz | April 4, 2012 | Review of Capitalism 2
As you can probably see this is not a game for everyone. Even if you are a fan of strategic games it takes quite time to get used to complexity contained in this title. But it's worth it. You can achieve your goals in many ways and by many means - from simple agriculture to investments in stocks. Besides, you can learn lot of things about modern economy. Quite addictive entertainment.
Not for everybodynurz | Oct. 12, 2011 | Review of Manhunt [Playfire]
This game can suck you in - but there is a price. Too much blood, too much mindless violence. It can be entertaining but you need to have strong stomach in some parts of the game. If you liked Postal atmosphere you will like Manhunt setting.
Best game ever?!nurz | June 28, 2011 | Review of Sid Meier's Civilization® IV Complete [Playfire]
I'm playing Civilization IV since its release in 2005. And I can't stop doing this. Easy to learn, hard to master, one more turn... This simple phrases could describe outstanding gameplay - add straight & neat graphics and brilliant music - you have Civ IV. With plenty customization options you will get your preferred type of game - short and easy victory or short and painful defeat. Replayability is at highest level here. Worth every money!
Something freshnurz | June 13, 2011 | Review of Assassins Creed
Thera are things in Assasin's Creed you will love - interesting plot, beautiful graphics and animations and original setting. But it turned out you can't make great game just with mentioned above. You will have fun with the game, that's for sure, but it won't be something to remember. It's refreshing for the action genre but it feels like developers had a few good ideas and they made a game around it. Could be better.
Let's go back to the 80'snurz | May 17, 2011 | Review of Sid Meier's Pirates! [Playfire]
Almost perfect remake of one of the milestones in gaming history. Sea battles, sword fights, treasure hunting, even dancing (in QTE form) will fulfill your pirate life in the Caribbean. Despite of many things you can do, the game is simple and fun to play. Visuals are cartoon-type so they are not very outdated and you can have a lot of fun playing this one.
Beautiful with shallow gameplaynurz | May 17, 2011 | Review of Far Cry 2
Far cry 2 is really worth seeing. Not playing though. While visuals are outstanding even by today's standards, the gameplay is rather disappointing. Construction of game world is a masterpiece but few flaws make it very annoing place. Most irritating is enemy respawning - they can appear again in about 30 seconds after their death. Also "side quests" are generic and boring. But if you go only with main story you can have a good time in this original setting.
Fps & rpg thrown into shakernurz | May 5, 2011 | Review of BioShock DNS
Take rapid action from shooters and epic story from rpg's, mix it with tactical flavour of plasmids using and you will get Bioshock, one of the most remarkable games in recent times. Events which took place in this immense, underwater setting will stay in your memory for long. Bioshock was worth buying at full price, now it's all the more no-brainer.
Milestone on long gaming roadnurz | May 5, 2011 | Review of Beyond Good and Evil
I won't be writing what's good in this game - i just want you all to play it and find out for yourself. Beyond good and evil is not about gameplay (which is quite enjoyable and varied - fighting, racing, sneaking, etc.) but it's about overwhelming mood if you only immerse in world of Jade and her uncle Pey'j. No more words - if you are a gamer you can't miss this gem.
Marvelous onenurz | April 22, 2011 | Review of Patrician III DNS
If you like to watch your growing trade empire this is the game for you. All that glitters is not gold they say. Patrician III glitters not but the gameplay is pure gold. It aged extremely well - graphics is still nice and what's most important very functional. There ere many possibilities to make a fortune here - from simple trading through building production facilities to taking part in wedding organisation. Game worth every money - for that price it's a no-brainer.
Could be better but...nurz | April 22, 2011 | Review of Heroes of Might and Magic V
HoMM V is practically a remake of HoMM III so it's very playable piece of game. The story of course is different but game mechanics are the pretty much the same. Going into 3D mode didn't go well though. Sometimes camera doesn't work good enough and it can be quite annoying. But the game itself is still a masterpiece - addictive & enjoyable. For that price it's a must-buy so don' hesitate.
For patient onesnurz | April 14, 2011 | Review of World War 1
World war I is a real-time strategy very similar to Blitzkrieg series. Pace here is rather slow - first you need to use recon units, after that it's time for artillery or aviation and finally assault of your main force. Your units are gathering experience points and you can use them in next missions so there is a little rpg flavor. The game needs specific player - if you are patient it can suck you in for hours.
Small but very enjoyablenurz | April 13, 2011 | Review of World of Goo
Small indie game which is about journey of goo balls. Sometimes relaxing, sometimes annoying but all in all very entertaining. Made with great sense of humour, pleasant music & visuals. Only drawback is level balancing - you can come across very hard level quickly but the next ones are riddicusly easy. My score 80/100.
There is new king in townnurz | April 13, 2011 | Review of Kings Bounty: The Legend
Came out of nowhere but won the competition. There are not many games like King's Bounty but this is one of the best not only in rpg genre. Finishing main campaign took me almost 80 hours and left me wanting more. Addictive gameplay, great music & good visuals makes it a must-have for all strategy & rpg fans.
Shoot on sightnurz | April 12, 2011 | Review of Painkiller Black Edition DNS
Pure action. Shoot everything/everyone you see - there are no friendlies in hell. Best for turning your brain off and just working on reflexes. Seems simplistic, but with a bit of diversion due to the Tarot cards, we get great gaming experience.
Nice piece of actionnurz | April 11, 2011 | Review of Infernal
Infernal is a nice action game and you won't feel disappointed if you decide to spend few evenings with it. It has some minor flaws but in the end you'll be having much fun playing this one. The story isn't maybe very good but game itself is quite diverse - plain shooting, using special powers, few special levels. My score 75/100
Better than Gears of warnurz | April 9, 2011 | Review of Dark Sector
It's maybe original point of view but for me Dark sector was better than GoW. Playing this one gave me much more fun and i really enjoyed it. Nice graphics, original blade for exterminating enemies and great playability. My score - 8/10.
Hard life in DEAnurz | April 7, 2011 | Review of El Matador [Playfire]
Life of DEA agent is propably really tough, especially in this game. Although it looks ok, playing this one is quite annoying - you will die numerous times, despite of having Max Payne's bulletime. It ends in remembering positions of your enemies as you trying to proceed through the game. You can try it but there are better options.
Tough life of a sharpshooternurz | April 7, 2011 | Review of Sniper: Art of Victory [Playfire]
Even though in almost every shooter you can play with a sniper rifle this game is taking job of a sniper to different level. You can customize your gameplay and turn on various handicaps like for example wind affecting your shots. It's not a game for everyone you will need a lot of patience here.
Forced to fight for freedomnurz | April 7, 2011 | Review of Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich
It's really not much to say: more Freedom Force on the way! Nice sequel to great game - nothing new but still tastes delicious. It has aged well not only due to comic-style graphics but also thanks to good gameplay mechanics and entertaining story. For all superhero & strategy fans.
Worth tryingnurz | April 7, 2011 | Review of Deus Ex: Invisible War [Playfire]
Maybe it's not as good as the first one but it still can give a lot of fun. Personally, i liked simple level designs - it was hard to get lost. Playing Invisible war isn't just time wasting - or maybe it is but wasting in really good way. Two thumbs up!
