A great game, with a few flaws of course.

Battlefield 3 is a pretty great game - while not upholding the scale and greatness of BF2, it's a pretty big stepping stone to covering that gap. The Singleplayer is roughly 6-8 hours and provides some pretty awesome scenes, decent gameplay, and a story which you can start to guess as you go. It's by no means perfect, but it's a decent tutorial for getting you started on the MP. The multiplayer really is a lot of fun, even though the community is overrun with a bunch of people who like to troll and just talk crap. Turning off chat or leaving it hidden alleviates most of the anger that you'd have otherwise. It has a decent class system, wonderful graphics, but the lack of modding tools really leaves a bunch to be desired. Game modes can get a little old, and you really have no means to 'customize' the servers, compared to the old BF2 days. Here's to hoping that BF4 will finish closing the gap between BF3 & BF2, while bringing both up to date with great graphics.
