Diffrent

rhiannon9998 | Aug. 15, 2011 | Review of Cryostasis

The game is not your typical FPS filled with explosions and gunfire. It is a very atmospheric game which requires a different approach as you walk thru the derelict icebreaker ship North Wind, iluminating your path a feeble torch, enduring the frostbite while searching for any possible heat source while a creature from beyond try to rip your face. Excellent graphics and ambient sounds, and if you do happen to have an NVIDA card the water effects are simply amazing courtesy of the PhysX engine.

Undeserving Sequel

rhiannon9998 | Aug. 15, 2011 | Review of Deus Ex: Invisible War Capsule

To be fair the Deus Ex: Invisible War is not a bad game, it could even be considered a good game with some questionable design decisions like the universal ammo for the guns. but what it's greatest sin is perhaps in the name calling it Deus Ex and then scrapping all the things that made the original a classic, interestingly enough that was done for the Xbox players.

Batlle of the Species

rhiannon9998 | Aug. 15, 2011 | Review of Aliens vs Predator Pre

If we have the two precedent games as a yardstick, then this new iteration of the eternal conflic between alien, predator and colonial marine fells short in intensity, terror and general enjoyment. If we do the marine part it feels like any other shooter except for your targets, the alien bits entirely forgettable, and the predator section like Batman:AA. Graphics are pretty and MP do have very unique mechanics.

Interesting Game

rhiannon9998 | Aug. 11, 2011 | Review of Twin Sector

The game presents interesting game mechanics with the use of the gloves, exploiting the mechanics introduced with the gravity gun of HL2 fame to the fullest. As for the rest graphics aren't bad, the german voice actors are likeable enough, not so much the english ones. However the biggest dissapointment is the numerous CTDs bugs you will encounter while playing.

The Choice

rhiannon9998 | Aug. 11, 2011 | Review of Alpha Protocol

For an Obsidian game it has very few game crushing bugs, and reasonable pretty graphics, and solid voice acing, the story, however, is a hogdepodge of conspiracies, treachery, double crossings and murder, leaving you with the aftertaste of confusion. However the game truly shines giving you choices and presenting the consequences of said choices, for example there is a mission where you attacked, after the ensuring firefight you are given the choice of executing the team leader or not, and that choice have repercusions lasting till the very end of the game. Another choice given is the playstyle will Mike Thorton be a slient assasin never discovered until is too late, or a commando chargin guns blazing at the first opportunity. The choice is yours.
