Greatrjb789 | Oct. 27, 2013 | Review of The Dark Eye: Demonicon
This is the pinnacle of RPG story telling. If I were to liken this game to another game I would have to say it was most like the Witcher 2. This is because in both of the games the combat is rewarding and interesting, the story line drags you in and never lets you go and the graphics simply blow you away. This, for me, is the second best RPG I have ever played. The voice acting is incredible as does all the general sounds you will hear around the vast environments. The magic system also adds tons of depth to the already extensive RPG elements involved. This is simply, a great game that you should get!
Very very goodrjb789 | Oct. 27, 2013 | Review of How to Survive
I would see this as a sort of top down experience of the walking dead TV series. First I will start with the graphics, they are, to put it simply, gorgeous. Every environment and character you will see along your journey of slaughter is brilliantly well designed and makes you feel as though you are in a real zombie situation. The game play is also stellar and all the weapons you use feel powerful and responsive. The crafting system really adds to the immersion and you have to scavenge to find the necessary ingredients and equipment to survive. There is also a great deal of player choice which makes you feel like you ARE the character. This is a great game and I highly recommend it.
Very goodrjb789 | Oct. 23, 2013 | Review of NecroVisioN: Lost Company
In my time I have played a fair amount of games that would fit into the first persons hooter genre and category, ranging from the likes of Crysis to Battlefield 3 and metroid and I can safely say that this game ranks with the top one in that list. Everything in this game is very well designed and pulled off with immaculate perfection and attention to detail. The graphics are stellar and the sound design is equally as good if not better, with the guns sounding punchy and realistic. The campaign is very fun and provides a great introduction to the game. The real core of the game is the multiplayer though which is awesome too! Get this game!
Great gamerjb789 | Oct. 23, 2013 | Review of UFO: Afterlight
This game is, to put it simply, just the best strategy game I have ever had the please of playing in my long gaming life. Out of many games including Xcom and the Civilization series this game beats all of them hands down in my honest opinion. The game manages to flawlessly mix great and deep ideas of strategic battles with great ground game play as you control your varied crew across an absolutely brilliant campaign mode. The graphics are nothing to write home about but this is not a problem due to the extremely well defined game play mechanics. Its just great.
Fun DLCrjb789 | Oct. 23, 2013 | Review of Borderlands 2: Headhunter 1 - TK Baha's Bloody Harvest
Borderlands 2 is easily one of the best shooters I have played and I have played a ton of shooters. The perfect combination of loot and shoot is so much fun to follow and every missions is brilliant and fun to do. This DLC adds tons of new content which really helps to flesh out the game and improve the already incredible experience you will get when playing through this great, stylish, shooter. There is a whole new story, plenty of bosses and lots of new heads and skins to customize and personalize your character with. This DLC is a must buy or Borderlands 2 fans!
Pretty funrjb789 | Oct. 23, 2013 | Review of Truck Racer
This is a fairly standard racer which places you in the shoes of a truck racer. There is a ton of content to be explored in this game including a vast array of great looking tracks and plenty of variety of the different trucks. The championship mode is a much needed addition to this game and adds lots of exhilarating moments and really makes this game worthwhile. The multi player is also a very fun experience. I had a great time with my friends online smashing up all the other trucks together, the damage is also great. This is a must buy game for racing fans.
Awesome DLCrjb789 | Oct. 23, 2013 | Review of Tropico 4: Apocalypse
Tropico Four is easily the best simulation game in my opinion and I cannot count all the hours I have put into the game of the year for me. Each of the elements involved in the game is so expertly implemented into each of the core elements of the game play. This DLC just adds to the amazing experience by offering up new content. The new DLC gives players a new building which can help with bonuses during the game. A new trait where you need less food to feed the population. A hazmat suit which does not affect the game play and a new mission which is very fun to complete. This is a must buy DLC for any Tropico fan!
Great family funrjb789 | Oct. 23, 2013 | Review of Ethan: Meteor Hunter
I purchased this particular game for my little sister who is of the age of eight. She absolutely adores it. I could not pull her off of it for so long (I lost track of time). Everything about this game screams "great family fun", from the beautiful and cartoonish graphics to the amazing sound design and challenging but rewarding and fun puzzles. Everything in this game shines in its own original way and each element far surpasses many games in its genre on other platforms and from other developers. The objects can really mix up the game play and make the game so much more interesting. If you like family games this is a must.
Great funrjb789 | Oct. 23, 2013 | Review of Space Rangers HD: A War Apart
Space Rangers 2 was easily one of my favourite games as a young child. I can recall putting hours into it as I wasted away my childhood in glorious fashion. This game is essentially a remake of the cult classic but it also includes plenty of new content and tons of amazing HD textures which really bring the world to life. I am going to break down the new aspects of the game: The new pirate subplot really adds to the already lengthy campaign and makes you feel even more powerful than before. The extended soundtrack is also a delight to the ears and I absolutely adore it The new missions are also very fun to do. This is a must buy for any fans of space games
Great expansionrjb789 | Oct. 23, 2013 | Review of Civilization V: Scrambled Continents
Civilization five places the player in control of an empire that they can dictate and do whatever they please with it. The game is beautifully detailed and includes some amazing and brilliant locations. This DLC is an incredible addition to the already vast and open choices of maps you are able to choose from when you first start up the long and involving campaign. There is also a cool re playability feature where the map changes dynamically which creates a vibrant and alive world and it really creates an incentive to play the game over and over again. This is a must for any Civ V fan.
Very fun DLCrjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of Tropico 4: Megalopolis DLC
Tropico 4 is undoubtedly the best city building simulator ever made, certainly in my opinion. The core game is absolutely incredible and it offers up brilliant missions, graphics and tons of varied buildings and other areas of land to tinker with to your liking. Whilst the core campaign is nice and long this DLC adds some more much needed missions to the game and really helps to flesh out the stellar experience you can have when you are playing Tropico 4 correctly. The DLC has some great dialogue too and it is incredibly funny to hear the banter between your advisers. This is a great DLC for any tropico fan!!!
Great DLCrjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of Tropico 4: Junta
This DLC adds plenty of new content to the base game of Tropico four and it more than justifies the hefty price tag. The DLC improves the core game play of Tropico 4 in many ways. There are plenty of new additions to the game due to the DLC content including the bunker which makes it much easier to raise an army as less generals are needed. This is just one of the many new game play additions and changes and this DLC really does make you feel like a whole new dictator and a leader over your owned land. There is also a new uniform and a new character trait which is called "Veteran". This DLC is great!
The ultimate Simrjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of Tropico 4
This is, as I said in the title, the ultimate sim of all time, or it certainly is in my honest opinion. Everything in this game is designed to give you full control and make you feel like the powerful dictator that you play as in the core campaign game that you play through during the game. You can do pretty much whatever you feel like doing in this game as you are left to you own devices. The graphics are very detailed in this game and all of the environments look great as do the buildings and other models. The sound is also brilliant and the music perfectly fits the moods of the game. This is a must buy for Simulator fans!
Very goodrjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of Tropico 3: Absolute Power
This is the first and only DLC for the game Tropico 3. When you add this new DLC to the core game of Tropico 3 you get a very good and interesting game which focuses on building up your empire as a dictator. You can choose traits and the DLC adds more of these to the game. The DLC also adds plenty of new items such as many new landmarks, buildings and lost lots more! The DLC also adds a completely new and brilliant campaign mode which adds plenty of new challenge and tons more missions and scenarios that you have to work your way through and solve. If you like Tropico 3 this is a MUST buy!
good sim gamerjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of Tropico 3
This is a nice simulator game. You are a dictator and your job is to both get elected and rule over the land you own and also expand it by building new buildings and buying the surrounding land to expand your influence on the area and build up your empire. The game is very rewarding and getting your empire expanded and ruling over the many citizens you find in the game is a very fun and rewarding thing to do. The graphics in the game are also great and every environment feels alive and bursting with life. The sound is also great and the music involved in the game really helps to set the scene for the events that will unfold.
Its okayrjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of Tropico 4: Propaganda
This is the latest DLC for the game Tropico Four. The DLC is called Propaganda and is a good DLC for the game Tropico 4. The DLC adds lots of new content for the base game and it really helps to flesh out the already brilliant gaming experience that you can have with Tropico 4. It adds a new building called propaganda tower, a cool new outfit and a trait which allows you to become a PR specialists which can make your chances of being elected much better as you can trick people into voting for you and use propaganda (clues in the name) to confuse people into voting for you in the election. Overall this is a nice DLC for the game which you should get.
Great!rjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of DiRT Showdown
This is of the more arcade style Dirt games and it is very good! Unlike the previous Dirt games such as Dirt 2 and Dirt 3, this game focuses more on crazy racing with over the top vehicles and races as opposed to the Raleigh style racing that was heavily featured in the other Dirt games in the franchise. The game play is fast and frantic and provides many thrills as you race through the brilliant campaign. The multi player also provides a very fun experience where you can race many of your friends across a wide range of race courses and upgrade your cars to become the best and beat your friends. In short, if you like racing games that are more arcade based, this is for you!
Like Dirt 2 but better!rjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of DiRT 3
This game is like an updated edition of the great racing game that was Dirt 2. It runs off the same engine and has the same kind of controls as the second game. The campaign in the game is very fun and provides plenty of exhilarating racing moments. The online experience is just as good and can be enjoyed with plenty of friends either through LAN or online on a server. Both of these types of racing provides a very fun game and this added to the jaw dropping beautiful graphics and absolutely brilliant sound design and car noises really sweetens the deal for this game. If you like racing game this is a must buy!
Great offroad racerrjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of DiRT 2
This game is extremely fun. Dirt 2 is the sequel to the first critically acclaimed racing game called Dirt. This newer game takes everyhting that the critics loves about the first game and reinvents it and polishes it up to the near point of perfection. All of the racing modes can create some very fun experiences and tense racing situations. There is also a very wide range of cars that you can choose from and customize. The graphics in the game are also absolutely stunning. All the environments are crisp and alive with color. The cars are also extremely well detailed and the different weathers in the game makes for a very fun time.
Very good!rjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of Portal 2
This game is one of the best Valve games of all time. In my opinion is is TONS better than the first game as it adds lots more game play and much more humor. I think that this game is better than many other Valve games as it offers so much fun for the tiny price tag that you can now pick it up for. The puzzles are rewarding but also tricky. Glados adds plenty of funny dialogue and Glados is voice very well and this adds to the great experience you get when playing Portal 2. The game also looks very good when everything is cranked up graphics wise and the environments shine. If you like puzzles games with tons of polish this is for you!
Great co op gamerjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of Left 4 Dead 2
This is the best zombie game ever in my opinion. It mixes fun co-op game play with stellar zombie slaying fun. This is the sequel to Left For Dead which is one of my favorite games of all time and this sequel builds on everything the Left For Dead 1 did well and adds some new features and better game play and graphics. In this game you have a choice of tons of weapons including a wide range of firearms but also a good range of melee weapons like a baseball bat and anything else you can find around the beautifully detailed maps that Left For Dead 2 is based on. If you enjoy zombie co-op games this is a must buy!
Very very goodrjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of Counter Strike: Source
This is easily one of the finest first person shooters I have every played and I feel I have played a wide range of them, from Call Of Duty to Far Cry 3. This game is so well made it is unbelievable. One would expect that kind of extreme quality from such a respected company that Valve is but you have to play the game to really appreciate how people get so addicted and immersed in this version of the great Counter Strike series. The gameplay is skill based (no auto aim here) and challenges you to improve your accuracy and play style as you level up thorough the different ranks. This game is easily one of the hardest, but best first person shooters ever
More of the same!rjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of Dead Island Riptide
This game is the second game in the Dead Island series. The game is focused on a characters who is stranded on a zombie infested island and is forced to kill hundreds of zombies and complete tasks in order to survive the perilous situations they are dragged into throughout the games lengthy campaign. You can level up your character in any way you see fit and craft hundreds of new weapons that you have to use to fight off the undead. The multi player is what steals the show in this game though. Fighting of hordes of the undead alongside your friends is the most fun I have had in a game in a very long time. This is a must buy game for zombie fans!
ZOMBIESrjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of Dead Island
This game is so much fun, I can't even describe some of the hilarious moments I have experienced whilst playing this game on my own and with friends in the brillinat multi player integration. The majority of your time spent playing Dead Island will consist of either smashing the various types of zombies heads in with the brilliant and varied types of weapons that you can either craft or find around the huge and beautiful island that Dead Island is set on. The graphics, although not great, are good enough to make your zombie slaying experience feel realistic and gritty. This game is a must buy for any zombie enthusiast or for anyone who just wants to bash in zombies with a cricket bat
Good DLC contentrjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of Dishonored®: The Brigmore Witches™
This DLC is yet more outstanding content for the game Dishonored which was released in the year 2012. The Brigmore Witches DLC adds more and continues the story line of the other assassin featured in Dishonored called Daud. His story started in the Knife of Dunwall and is continued and further fleshed out in this outstanding DLC. The graphics are the same as in the base game, with the steam punk art really shining and creating a great personality. The game play is the same as the core game too and this means that it is unbelievably versatile and great fun to play. Overall this is a must buy DLC for Dishonored fans
Very good DLCrjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of Dishonored: The Knife of Dunwall
This is yet another brillinat piece of DLC for the game called Dishonored. The base game of Dishonored received world wide critical acclaim and this DLC continues this trade with good reviews all over game review sites and this is for good reason. This DLC adds lots of new game play and content. You play as another assassin and you travel around completing various and varied missions. This DLC adds to the already very good story line that drove the game in Dishonored. The DLC uses the same, great mechanics from the original Dishonored game and it is extremely well scripted with the dialogue making you feel so immersed in the world
Very goodrjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of Dishonored: Dunwall City Trials
This is a DLC for the hugely innovative and successful game released in 2012 called Dishonored. The game puts you in the shoes of an assassin who is framed for the death of an important person's daughter. Your aim throughout the game is to clear your name and find the real killer. This DLC adds more content and game play which really helps to flesh out the experience that Dishonored gives the player. The graphics are great still, with the steam punk style shining through and all the great aspects of the base game are still here. This DLC is a must have for any fans of Dishonored and is a great addition to the game.
Amazingrjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of The Witcher II: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition
This is easily the best RPG game I have ever played and I have played a ton of games that can fit into the RPG genre such as all the fallout games and the elder scrolls games. Every aspect of the game is so well polished and extremely well produced that you can forgive all of the games small shortcomings and just get on with playing it. Firstly the graphics in this game are absolutely outstanding, they are incredible, I can't describe how good they are. The sound is also top notch with the voice actors in the game stealing the show. the music is also awesome. The fighting in the game is very good too and so is the story. If you like RPS games this is a must buy!
great gamerjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of TAKEDOWN: Red Sabre
This game is absolutely mind blowing as it changes the basic, boring military shooter and turns it into a very fun, but difficult and challenging shooter. The game is based on older SWAT games from the 20th century and games such as the Tom Clancy series of shooters. In this game if you get shot, you are dead instantly. This creates some of the most tense experiences in gaming I have ever had and it makes completing a level so much more rewarding and fun, however it can create some very frustrating time if you are used to more run and gun games such as Call Of Duty. But the game is absolutely amazing if you like planning and careful shooting.
Brilliantrjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of ARMA III: Limited Deluxe Edition
This is easily one of the best realistic army simulators available on the platform of the personal computer. Every aspect in this game feels so polished and well defined against its competitors in the genre. The graphics look stunning with the real time lighting and gorgeous character models making you feel like you are right in the center of the action. The sound is just as good as the graphics and each gun has a different sound and the other sounds such as the atmospheric ambient noise really adds to the experience. The game play is also great and you feel like you are firing the guns in a real war zone. The game is great, just get it!
Very goodrjb789 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of Thief: Deadly Shadows
This game is called Thief: Deadly Shadows and it is definately one of the best stealthy games of all time. It is up there will the genre defining games such as every game in the Splinter Cell series and metal gear solid. The mechanics in this game are great and you really feel as if you are stalking in the shadows, planning out your complicated attack. When you pull of the assassinations, it feels extremely rewarding as you have spent ages planning out the brutal attack. You can either take out people stealthily or go in with a sword and stab them. The graphics in the game are okay and they fit the genre, as does the music and sounds. If you like stealth, get this game
Pretty goodrjb789 | Oct. 1, 2013 | Review of A Game of Dwarves: Ale Pack DLC
This DLC for the game A Game Of Dwarfes, is a good, but extremely minor and small DLC for the game. Throughout the core game A Game of Dwarfes, you have to complete missions with the various Dwarfes you can collect and create in your own way throughout the lengthy and involving campaign. This DLC adds some new content including a mead barrel and they all serve to help you keep your oh so previous Dwarfes happy in the game. This is essential as it allows them to complete tasks and do the things necessary to increase your productivity and continue through the game's campaign mode. In short, if you like the core game of Dwarfes you should get this DLC as the price is so low it's worth the small amount of content
Pretty damn greatrjb789 | Sept. 30, 2013 | Review of Game of Thrones
This game is a perfect present for any self respecting fan of the Game Of Thrones franchise, either the books or the HBO series that is broadcast on television. Many aspects of the game are absolutely top notch. This includes the stellar voice acting, the story line and the revolutionary controls. The only large problem I have with the game is the lack of graphics involved in the game. Character models and details just don't keep up with the newer game titles that are being released and it really drags the realism down of the game as it prevents you from being truly immersed. If you like Game Of Thrones you should get this!
Very good battlesrjb789 | Sept. 30, 2013 | Review of Medieval II: Total War
This game is easily one of the best games I have played of all time. I cant imagine the hours I have put into this game doing the lengthy campaign and starting again on the harder difficulties and repeating. It really is a very compelling and extremely rewarding experience. The campaign, as mentioned above, is a stunning representation of the vast battles that took place in medieval times and it really makes you feel as if you are the one commanding the troops. This is helped by the fantastic graphics, sound design and general polish that the games in the series are renown for, added to this is a great control scheme. This makes this game a must buy for Total War fans!
Worth the costrjb789 | Sept. 30, 2013 | Review of Empire and Napoleon: Total War - Game of the Year Edition
This game package includes the already brilliant and world-reknown games Empire and Napoleon Total War. Napoleon Total War is considerably better than Empire total war but this is not trying to take anything away from Empire Total War. Both games are fantastic and provide tons of brutal, violent, battle fun and the added DLC packs make this reasonably priced package a great deal for any Total war fan, regardless of the games they previously liked. If you enjoy playing strategic games which have large scale battles, great graphics and an interesting battle mechanic. This is for you.
Just greatrjb789 | Sept. 30, 2013 | Review of Total War: Shogun 2
This is easily the best Total War game in the series to date, or it certainly is in my opinion. It takes everything that made the previous games so addictive and brillinat and refines everything. From the insane graphical fidelity in each of the thousands of battling troops, or the redefined control system which makes controlling your fighters and battle units a breeze. The game offer up plenty of strategic situations and missions which vary and make you assess each situation differently and challenge yourself. This game is a complete and Total (pun intended) must for any fans of strategic games which have great concepts and missions. You should go and get this game!
Great detective gamerjb789 | Sept. 28, 2013 | Review of LA Noire
This game is revolutionary, from everything from the awesome facial animations, to the interrogations and the heart pumping shoot outs and chases you will frequently be involved in whilst exploring the sprawling city of Los Angeles in the 1940s. The game focuses on solving crimes in the city and surprisingly, this becomes very addictive. There is so much to do and the cases vary from homicide to car theft. Searching for clues is both rewarding and challenging and provides an good break between the action and interrogations. If you like open world games with a bit more thought involved than games such as GTA IV or even V this is for you!
Mentalrjb789 | Sept. 28, 2013 | Review of Saints Row: The Third
This game (Saints Row The Third) is the best open world game I have ever experienced. It takes the basic formula which games such at Grand Theft Auto honed so brilliantly and turns it upside down, creating a hilarious romp through one of the most rude, brilliantly comic and completely crazy gaming experiences of my life. This game allows you do pretty much whatever you want and you are left to your own devices. There is tons of things to do like robbing a bank, just fighting people, crashing cars into shops, getting into police chases and so much more. On top of this there is the great sound and graphics which perfectly compliment the crazy premise of the game
Crazy funrjb789 | Sept. 28, 2013 | Review of Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box
This is the best open world racer in gaming so far, hands down, full stop, period. This is such a well tuned and extremely well defined take on how brillinat the racing genre can be when it is dropped into an interesting, gorgeous and absolutely massive city. There is tons of stuff to do. I spent most of my time seeing how badly I could crash into oncoming traffic in the hundreds of tunnels you can drive through. There are race challenges, crazy slow motion jumps shown in real time cut scenes and so much more to explore in the amazingly vast heaven for racers. The sounds are great too. You should get this game if you like open world racers!
Flawlessrjb789 | Sept. 28, 2013 | Review of The Stronghold Collection
This is a collection of some of the finest castle warfare strategy games of all time. The pack includes the first game, Stronghold, The second game, Stronghold 2, the third game, Stronghold legends and the other 2 crusader games. Every one of these games is worth the full price of the pack and they all feature a brilliant combat system, interesting castle building mechanics and great dialogue from the peasants you will find around your kingdom. Every single one of these games features great graphics and brilliant sound design and music. Each of the battles feels dynamic too. Go get this pack!
Fun DLCrjb789 | Sept. 27, 2013 | Review of Borderlands 2: Siren Learned Warrior Pack
This DLC is very fun. Borderlands 2 is one of my most favorite games of all time and this DLC serves to make the gaming experience so much better and really enhances the playing and experience you get when playing as my favorite character who is called a siren. I love the idea of the detailed character customization you get at your finger tips during your play through of Borderlands 2 and this DLC serves to enhance that experience even more so. It adds some new skins and content for a player who plays as the Siren and it can make the character seems so much more different and new. If you like Borderlands 2 you should definitely get this DLC!
Great skins!rjb789 | Sept. 27, 2013 | Review of Borderlands 2: Psycho Party Pack
This DLC is yet another great addition to the ever growing collection of Borderlands 2 DLC content that I now have. Borderlands 2 is one of the best games of 2012 and in my opinion, its the best shooter of all time with its loot and shoot system. One of my favorite parts of Borderlands Two is the level of customization ion you can do with the various characters and this pack really enhances that element of the game if you enjoy playing as the slightly crazy character in the game called Psycho. It adds some new character options and plenty of new additions to the character and it enhances the game hugely. You should definitely get this DLC
Great DLCrjb789 | Sept. 27, 2013 | Review of Borderlands 2: Mechromancer Beatmaster Pack
This new DLC for borderlands 2 was one of the best purchases of DLC for me ever or at least in my top 10. The biggest thing which dragged me towards it was the absolutely awesome price point. The DLC is so cheap, it costs less than a cup of coffee. The DLC feels very well put into the core game play of the game Borderlands 2 and it makes the customization of the various different characters very nice and accessible. The DLC adds some new content and skin packs for the character and if you enjoy playing as the Mechromancer this is an essential purchase for any self respecting Borderlands 2 fan!
A new gunzerkerrjb789 | Sept. 27, 2013 | Review of Borderlands 2: Gunzerker Greasy Grunt Pack
This all new DLC for the fantastic game that is Borderlands 2 adds plenty of awesome and clever customization options for one of the many playable characters in the world of Borderlands Two. The content involved in this DLC is brilliantly integrated with the already brilliant character customization options in the game and it really feels as though it could have been on the game at launch in 2012. Its good that the developer Gearbox are continuing to support their games with awesome content and its a real selling point if the developers like to update their games with new content! If you like playing Borderlands 2 you should get this DLC!
Cool DLC for BL2rjb789 | Sept. 27, 2013 | Review of Borderlands 2: Commando Devilish Good Looks Pack
This is a great addition to the ever growing library of the incredibly top notch and fairly prices Borderlands 2 DLC for in my opinion, the best shooter of this year and 2012 as well. This DLC builds on the already well known and stunningly well detailed Borderlands 2 character customization system which is implemented at the start and thorough out your shoot and loot guns blazing experience and this particular DLC is brilliantly integrated into the core game of Borderlands 2. The content of this DLC is great too as it adds lots of new customization options for the Commando. This is an essential purchase for any fans of Borderlands 2!
Just a fun little packrjb789 | Sept. 27, 2013 | Review of Borderlands 2: Assassin Cl0ckw0rk Pack
This is a great new DLC for any fans of the brilliant Loot and shoot experience that Borderlands 2 brought the gaming world in 2012. It adds new content for a gamer who likes to play as the stealthy, power full assassins like character who's name is Zer0. This really helps to flesh out the character if you enjoy playing a him as it gives you plenty of customisation options and fun things to do. The DLC builds on the already stunning level of customisation that the brilliant game Borderlands Two offers and is a must purchase for anyone who enjoys playing as the strong and stealthily but lethal assassin in the run and gun, looting adventure of the year. You need this DLC if you like borderlands 2!
Same great gameplayrjb789 | Sept. 27, 2013 | Review of The Walking Dead: 400 Days
The Walking Dead 400 days is a nice little teaser of what is to come in the new series of the Walking Dead. It folows five seperate stories of five seperate protagnists and their attempts to survive the impending zombie outbreak. The story lines are, as ever, brilliantly well written and hard hitting and the voice acting is very good too which compliments the fantastic soundtrack. The gameplay is the same as from the previous game and you are still limited to mostly point and click action. However this does not take away anything from the ideas of this DLC. It offers up a great, if short, addition to the Walking Dead world any any fan of the previous game should definately try this one out
Just stunningrjb789 | Sept. 27, 2013 | Review of The Walking Dead
Telltales "The Walking Dead" does everyhthing right. It blends like able character in with a stunningly hard hitting story line to create one of the best games of not just this year, but of all time. The story follows a young girl called Clementine and a guy who was going ot prison before the zombies attacked called Lee Everett. The two characters both have interesting qualities which help tomove the story along in an appropriate manner. The story line is an emotional rollercoaster. It ha my crying, laughting, fuming, but most of all feeling for the many characters you meet along your way. It truly is a masterpiece of story telling in a game an a real contender in the argument that games should be considered as art.

The best way to describe the newest reiteration of the extremely popular FIFA franchise is by calling it FIFA 12.5. Because that's what it is. Its a slightly changed and new game based of the great formula that was FIFA 12. This is no bad thing but it means that people who play fifa 12 will find nothing new here except a tiny change in the graphical fidelity of the game play and a few new players who have been introduced into the footballing scene in 2012. The game play is great as ever with players free flowing around the pitch and the clever opposing team's AI always serves up a challenge but it doesn't feel much different so it does not warrant a purchase.
Same as the other FIFA gamesrjb789 | Sept. 27, 2013 | Review of FIFA 12
The newest game of FIFA by EA sports is just a carbon copy of all of the previous games that have the FIFA label. This is not necessarily a bad thing but if you come into this game thinking you will be experiencing new things than when you played the other games, you will be bitterly disappointed. The game play in the game is fluent and feels great and when you score a goal it is very rewarding. The graphics are okay but not great, some details have been improved as opposed to games such as FIFA 11, 10, 09 etc but not by a long way. You should only get this game if you really like football games which provide a fun, fast paces experience.
Good gamerjb789 | Sept. 27, 2013 | Review of FIFA Manager 2013
This game is everything you want and need a foot ball manager simulation to be. In the game you start out with a certain amount of money and you are left to your own devices to purchase players, train them, discipline them and pay them whatever you see fit based on their in game performance and behavior. This becomes difficult as if you pay the players too much you will begin to lose lots of money but if you pay them too little they will leave your club. The graphics are great and each of the players are extremely detailed and it really brings the game alive with every match you oversee. You should get this game
Nice tributerjb789 | Sept. 26, 2013 | Review of LEGO Lord of the Rings
This game does a good job at representing the much loved Lord Of The Rings series in lego form. The expected great cut scenes are all here and it really adds to the brilliance that this game is. You work your way across many new missions and see plenty of interesting locations from the books and films. The graphics really help to boost this game's sense of realism and the fact that you are really there. However the game play, although it features good ideas, does get repetitive and you will find yourself hunting for studs more as a necessity as opposed to you actually wanting to do it for the games sake and your own gain. This game is a nice tribute, but not the best lego game out there.
fun game!rjb789 | Sept. 26, 2013 | Review of LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7
This game is what is great about lego. Every single moment involved in this beautiful homage to the Harry Potter books and films is filled with brilliant humor and absolutely jaw droppingly great moments. Fans of the Harry Potter franchise will find plenty to both like and love in this game which follows harry and his friends (an enemies) from years 5-7 and overall the game is a good improvement on the first game. There are much less bugs and the control system is much improved as well as the graphics which shine and bring the world to life in an impressive style. if you enjoy adventure games this Lego Harry Potter game is a must purchase and great for any fans of either lego or harry potter
Great harry potter funrjb789 | Sept. 26, 2013 | Review of LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4
This lego game displays how good the lego franchise of games can really be when they are dealing with a much loves series of books and films. Every single section of the game is filled with Harry Potter humor and its really feels as if you are involved in the wizarding world of Hogwarts and the surrounding ares and the events that unfold through the first four Harry Potter tales. The graphics are great and the cut scenes are hilarious and frequently have Harry Potter references in it. The addition of a co-op mode is also welcome. This game is for anyone who enjoys watching or reading about Harry Potter and those who want a lego themed adventure with a great co-op option.
Very goodrjb789 | Sept. 26, 2013 | Review of LEGO Batman: The Videogame
This game is a perfect balance of the brillinat Lego style game play and humor that you come to expect from a lego game and tons of Batman content which makes this gaming experience a must for anyone who is a fan of either the lego games or batman. The game features many cut scenes which are all very funny and show what the characters in the game are like and displays plenty of batman references which will please fans of the Batman franchise. This game can also be played through co-op with a friend which adds to the fun in so many ways. This game is for someone who enjoys a lego adventure with Batman!
A decent game that is funrjb789 | Sept. 26, 2013 | Review of Need for Speed: Shift
If you are after a Need For Speed game which recreates the thrill of racing powerful, sporty, good looking cars and sets you down onto hundreds of original racing track and all of them help to re create the adrenaline rush you get from driving a sports car at one hundred miles and hour. Added to this is the gorgeous graphics and the undeniably authentic roar of each engine as you line up at the starting line with the other cars surrounding you, each of them revving their engines in anticipation. This is what this Need for Speed game does best. It makes you feel like a boy racer and this is a great feeling.
Great open world racingrjb789 | Sept. 26, 2013 | Review of Need for Speed Most Wanted
Need for Speed Most Wanted does most of what it sets out to do brilliantly and creates an open world racing game where you are free to do pretty much whatever you feel like doing in a beautiful city filled with racing opportunities. The city is a stunning spectacle to look at and the cars shine with unmistakable fidelity. Every single location has unique stunts, races and new challenges to overcome and surprisinly, this does not become tedious or boring after a long while of playing. The cops AI of the cars is great and you really feel like you are being chased down. If you like racing games get this
Great lego gamerjb789 | Sept. 26, 2013 | Review of LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
This new Lego game from DC is a must have for anyone who is fan of the previous lego games or anyone who enjoys watching or playing as Batman. The graphics in this game are brilliant and they are helped by the hilarious cut scenes that frequently pop up to explain the story in a humourous way. The sounds are brilliant as well and the music compliments the game in almost perfect style. The campaign is long and very fun on your own or with a friend. The gameplay is the same as previous game, collect studs and fight the bad guys and unlocking new characters is as fun as ever. In short, this game is a must buy for any fan of lego or batman and the co-op really makes this game a great purchase if you enjoy playing with friends.
Really goodrjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of Mass Effect 3
This game is the final chapter to the trilogy of Mass Effect which follows Captain Shepard and his attempts to stop an alien threat from attacking various planets. This provides a hero that I was very happy to control and make choices in the game with. The graphics are brilliant! Planets each have their own individual amazing locations and vistas you look out upon. The voice acting and musical score is just as great as you'd expect from a Mass Effect game and the new shooting mechanics and cover system really reinvents the games core ideas. The story drives the game and, despite the disappointing ending, is a great platform for Shepard to run and gun.
Very good RPGrjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of Mass Effect 2
This is the best Mass Effect game that their is. It seem that Bioware studios have taken everything great about the first game and developed it in such a style that you wouldn't even know this was a sequel. The graphics are much improved and the overall presentation and style is so much more refined. The voice acting and story line is, like it predecessor, stunningly good and the voice acting is top notch. The cast of characters is just simply great and the various aliens you fight along the way are just as detailed with a good backstory that makes the universe of Mass Effect seem so much more real. To conclude, if you like RPG games that involves a choice driven storyline and some shooting you should get this!
The best NFS gamerjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit is in my opinion, the best need for speed game ever made to this day. The idea of either being chased down by the police who have a wide array of technology at their disposal such as spike strips, or being the cops taking down the racer is a brillinat concept. Coupled with a rewarding racing feel and impressive graphics this game truly feels like the best and most responsive Need For Speed game to date and anyone who enjoys playing very fast paced, arcade style, racing games should definitely check this one out as it provides just that. Fast and furious racing and its stellar.
Very good driving!rjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of Driver San Francisco
The game is brilliant. It has so much content like the brilliant story, the open world and the stunning graphics. Another factor is the insane amount of cars and each individual detail involved in crafting the cars. If you crash your car you can instantly switch into any other car you own on the map and this mechanic creates some very fun and easily changeable game play which is a feature I have not seen any other games. The story line drags you in and doesn't let you go for the duration of the story and there are a fair amount of plot twists that create some very fun changes in how the events of the game unfold. You should get this game if you like Burnout Paradise!
SO much to explore.rjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of The Sims 3: World Adventures
The Sims 3 is nothing without the vast array of brilliant DLC packs that are on offer and this is by far the best one. It adds three new beautiful locations, France, China and Egypt. Each of the locations adds plenty of awesome new Sims to meet and greet and loads of new tasks and opportunities for your sims to follow. There are plenty of puzzles to solve in the interesting caves you find dotted around the environments and the new cultures and foods adds a new layer of depth not seen before. You can also learn very fun new skills such as photography which increases your sim's skill levels and progresses you through the game. This DLC is a must buy for any Sims 3 fan!
Its fun but not the best by farrjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of The Sims 3: University Life
This DLC continues the steady stream of DLC that the Sims 3 offers and this particular DLC is an okay representation of what it is like to be in university. However due to the high price tag I do not feel that its worth the money. The downloadable content adds new objectives, new tasks such as protesting and a new level of education system which really fleshes out the idea of university in the sims. There are plenty of things to do such as flirt, read books, go to lectures, or play a game of bowling with your new found friends from the campus. The DLC also adds more clothing and decor as you would imagine with a Sims DLC pack. Go get it if you like university!
Very funrjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of The Sims 3: Town Life Stuff
This DLC does so much right its easy to forget the smaller shortcomings which ultimately don't hurt the overall, brilliant experience and the added content that this DLC brilliantly delivers in such a clean and clever style that its worth the full price, let alone on sale. The DLC makes the city seems SO much more lively and adds lots of incentive to go out and explore the various town and see what you can find and if there are any unusual people you can meet. There are plenty of new locations such as the Gym which allows you to experience more of the sims lives and the universe they live in. Get this DLC!
Brilliant!rjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of The Sims 3: Supernatural
This DLC is simply awesome. Every little detail in all the new characters and the extra content is beautifully crafted and this really helps this new DLC pack blend seamlessly with the world of The Sims 3. The DLC allows you to play as supernatural sims, whether you want to be a werewolf, a vampire or even a fairy, this pack lets you do all that and more! You are free to explore a new neighborhood and discover what is happening around the area which is surprisingly compelling and fun to do. Another added feature which works well is the supernatural items involved in the game! If you like the Sims 3 this is a must buy!
great DLC additionrjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of The Sims 3: Showtime
This DLC for the Sims 3 adds tons of new content including plenty of new and exciting outfits which perfectly fit the new jobs and professions you can now pursue such as a rock star or a DJ or so many more options. If your sim gets good at their job, they can perform and gain lots of popularity which is a nice feature as it shows how much progress you have made with your sim in your attempt to help them make it to stardom. The online features are also a nice touch and this allows you to join a friends sim concert and enjoy the show which expands the sims universe and make it feel much more personal.
Very goodrjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of The Sims 3: Seasons
This is one of the better DLC expansion packs for the Sims 3. There are now all the four seasons which are both graphically respresented differently and there are also plenty of new and intersting activites which you can do and these correspond to the four seasons. For example in Winter you can go skiing or fool around on the ice rink and in Summer you can hold parties and invite other sims over to play. Another addition is the added clothin which adds yetmore personality to this great DLC pack and makes it worth your money. In short, if you really enjoy playing The Sims 3 this DLC is a must have
More pets!rjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of The Sims 3: Pets
The Sims 3: Pets is a good expansion pack. It adds more human traits to the already well developed pet system in the Sims 3 and makes it easier to care for your pets and help your sims get to know them. It also offers new opportunities to play as you, the player, control the pet and this allows for new experiences and many new chances to explore the house from a different perspective. It also adds many new animals to the core game and this is the biggest change to the game out of all the Sims 3 DLC packs in my opinion. If you like the pets in the Sims 3 and would enjoy more of that gameplay then this DLC is for you!
Good DLCrjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of The Sims 3: Outdoor Living Stuff
This DLC adds lots of new content for your garden and even some items for inside your sim's house and for decoration. Firstly there is plenty of garden content such as extra flowers, trees and decorations for patios and more physical items such as a lawnmower and an outdoor barbeque complete with a new table. The inside items are also a nice touch and helps to make this DLC pack more worthwhile and worth your hard earned cash. The hot tub and new pools is also a great addition to the ever expanding items you find in the Sims 3. If you enjoy playing the Sims 3 lots, this is a must buy!
Cool DLCrjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of The Sims 3: Movie Stuff
This is a great, original Sims 3 Download content pack. This DLC adds plenty of new costumes from movies such as a cowboy and a horror costume. As well as the brilliantly detailed costumes there are also great house furnishings in the style of the movies and new hairstyles that are suitable for the costumes. If you are a huge Sims 3 fan this is a definite must buy as it does add lots of new content. However if you do not play the Sims 3 nearly as much as some of the fans it may not be worth the fairly high price point that this DLC asks for.
Very nicerjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of The Sims 3: Monte Vista
This new DLC for the Sims 3 adds many new game play additions and plenty of new locations and things to do which expands the core Sims 3 experience without changing the game too much. The DLC adds many new locations and plenty of things to see and do such as museums which all help to flesh out the different places. You can also meet tons of new characters who you interact with as you would with other sims in the base game. Cooking is also a big part of this DLC and you learn many varied recipes which adds to your culinary skills. Overall this DLC is very good value for money as it adds new things to do, people to meet and things to cook to the Sims 3 experience.
So much to do!rjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of The Sims 3: Into the Future - Limited Edition
I had a blast with this new DLC for the Sims 3. The idea behind it is that you can travel into the future and the past and this idea fits nicely in with the simple premise of the Sims which is that you can do whatever you want. I like this as it mirrors some of the rewards you can get in the Sims 2 when you fulfilled your sims ambitions. Coupled with this is the brilliant idea that you can disrupt what happens in the future and also get futuristic houses, clothing and technology. This really makes you feel as if you are in the future in the Sims universe and the great new game play changes such as the jet pack and other transport makes this a must purchase for any Sims 3 fan who wants something different.
Great DLCrjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of The Sims 3: High End Loft Stuff
This DLC has plenty of great new content and lots of new furnishings and clothing items for your sims. Whilst playing with this DLC I turned my sims fairly boring house into an up to date, stylish home where his friends could come and spend time with him. I also gave him a much classier look with the more fashionable clothing that comes bundles in with this particular piece of DLC. This is one of the most complete content packs in any of the DLCs for the Sims 3 and if you are a fan of the series it is worth every penny! If you like the Sims 3 and would enjoy a way to expand the game this is the DLC for you!
Great!rjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of The Sims 3: Generations
This DLC adds tons of new stuff for all your Sims to do in the Sims 3. Children now have many options to do for playing and this can help you develop your character as it is interesting to see which activities they like to do and enjoy. There are also new things for adults to do as well which again adds a new layer of character development to proceedings and makes you feel more attached to the characters. New hobbies are also introduced which includes chemistry and playing make believe and dressing up. This DLC will add lots of content to the game and is an essential purchase for any Sims 3 fan!
It's okay.rjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of The Sims 3: Fast Lane Stuff
This is an okay DLC for the Sims 3. It adds a few new pieces of content including some new cars and a garage. However the content in my opinion, just doesn't justify the fairly expensive price point. The DLC does however slip seamlessly into the Sims 3 base game and it feels extremely well integrated into the full experience which can really help with the realism that the sims so successfully creates. If you are desperate for new content go for it but for me, it was not worth the price that I paid for it. The cars and garage is nice but compared to the other Sims DLC, it just can't compete.
Just crazyrjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of The Sims 3: Dragon Valley
This is an absolutely crazy DLC for the Sims 3. The DLC offers up tons of new fantasy options such as having a dragon for a pet! you can feed the dragon and exercise it and this becomes extremely fun and rewarding. There are new houses and families to visit, including some slightly out of the ordinary ones and although it isn't believable in the world of the sims, it can provide hours and hours of fun if you enjoy games which involve fantasy. The two sides of the town also adds in a new story concept and you have to choose which family you help with their desires. Overall this DLC is very fun but quite dear so wait for a sale unless you really want it!
SO much to do!rjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of The Sims 3: Ambitions
This DLC offers up a crazy amount of jobs and careers that your sims can take up and do for lots of money. From jobs ranging from chefs to an architect. Each of the jobs are fun to progress with and improves your sim's skills long their career paths. Added to this is the brilliant idea that your actions at the job you are doing actually effects the neighborhood. If you are a firefighter and you do not respond to a call out quick enough a house will burn down. Its like having the responsibly of a real job but in the Sims universe which makes it surprisingly fun and involving. if you like the sims this is a great DLC to get!
Tons of new content!rjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of The Sims 3: 70s 80s & 90s Stuff Pack
This DLC offers up plenty of new and great content. The new outfits really make you feel as if your sims are living in either the 70s, 80s or 90s and the added older style items such as a foosball table really gives off the retro vibe. The new furnishing are a nice touch too with new sofas and interesting decor which allows you to customize your sim's houses even more so than before. Each of the different time periods offer up new items and often hilarious items which you can use to either better improve the sim's looks or make them seem even worse. This DLC is great and any Sims 3 fan should definitely pick this one up!
Very funrjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of The Sims 3
In the Sims 3 you are left to your own devices. The game allows you to pretty much anything with the virtual characters you create in the very detailed character creator. You can make a family, have the father find a job and have the mum look after the children (or vice versa) and you have the option to speed up time so you don't have to wait for your sims to finish boring tasks and you can get to the fun stuff. You can throw house parties, get jobs, kick over bins and so much more! the game is surprisingly detailed too and the sims dialogue is frequently funny. if you like simulation games you should really play this game!
great in every wayrjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of Max Payne II: The Fall of Max Payne
Max Payne 2 is a brillinat sequel to the already great game Max Payne 1. The graphics have been updated and the human models look considerably more three dimentional and the enviroments also look much more realistic. The sounds have also been much improved and the game adds lots more impressive voice acting and new gun sounds and musical, moody, soundtrack. Much of the core game mechanics have not been changed and bullet time remains as fun as it was before. The controls have been improved and the overall feel of the game is better also.
This is a must buy for the Multiplayer!rjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of Max Payne 3: Rockstar Pass
This DLC for Max Payne 3 adds new maps and brillinat weapons which really ups the quality of the already stellar multi player experience that Max Payne 3 offers. There are plenty of maps and new guns that can affect the way you play in a big way and the new maps add a layer of depth not seen in a third person multi player game. The level of customization is also impressive as the game offers you plenty of new costumes and new accessories which helps you progress with the expansive multi player and gives a greater incentive to continue playing. In short, this is a must for any fans of the Max Payne 3 multiplayer!
Just incrediblerjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of Max Payne 3
This is by far my favourite game out of the Max Payne trilogy. The graphics are simply stunning and they represent Sao Paulo in a beautiful light. The game play is also a stand out feature. Jumping from behind cover, going into bullet time and shooting ten enemies whilst having your in game friend snipe the others from a radio tower is very fun. As always it is very cinematic with plenty of cut scenes (sometimes too much for my taste) and the voice acting and moody atmosphere are absolutely top notch. Max is a convincing character and creates a different feel to the previous game. Go get this game if you like 3rd person cover shooters and action games!
The start of a great series of gamesrjb789 | Sept. 25, 2013 | Review of Max Payne
The story of this game is absolutely brilliant, it includes lots of interesting plot twists and tons of characters that you can sympathize with. The voice acting is great too. The whole game is scripted like a film is, with lost of cut scenes and stylized shots. The game play is awesome and the idea of bullet time really switches around the shooting mechanics and reinvents the idea of a third person shooter. If you like 3rd person action games with an interesting story and a cinematic edge you should get this game. Even if the game doesn't sound like one you would like you should still try the game for the small price it is at!
As good as it getsrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Tomb Raider: Underworld
This is the pinnacle of the Tomb Raider franchise and it shows. The graphics are stunning, the controls are cleverly implemented and this is helped by stellar game play and the story really shines. Also the various puzzles you will encounter throughout the games are fun and involving and span across a very long campaign where, in true tomb raider style, you will visit many locations across the globe and explore the varied locations. The sense of adventure is still there and it runs through the entire game, I was not bored at all when playing through the game and I never felt like I was doing boring tasks. All in all Tomb Raider Underworld is the best Tomb Raider game ever made! Go get this game!
Very good revivalrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Tomb Raider: Legend
Tomb raider legend is better than the older Tomb Raider games, everything about this game shines above the rest. Firstly the graphics have been greatly improved and Lara Croft looks even more human than before and the tombs truly are amazing to look at. The core game play has been built on and it is much better than in previous games and this helped by a much improved control system which makes traversing the varied puzzling tombs a joy. The combat is equally as good and feels punchy and responsive. Overall if you enjoyed the previous Tomb Raider games you should pick this one up and even if you have not experienced any other ones this is a good place to start!
Great remakerjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Tomb Raider: Anniversary
Tomb Raider Anniversary faithfully recreated the brilliant game play and experience that the original Tomb Raider brought to to the table and it does it with style. The controls are now reinvented and feel great and the better engine allows for more graphical fidelity, more detailed environments and an overall better looking experience. In the game you are sent around the world to find all three parts of an artifact. This involves fighting with all manner of animals and creatures with your trusty pistols and traversing the challenging puzzles in the tombs. In short, if you like Tomb Raider 1 or are looking for a good start to the Tomb Raider franchise, get this game!
Probably the best Tomb Raiderrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Tomb Raider IV: The Last Revelation
Everything in this game is at the best it could be. The graphics were very good for their time, the gameplay is very good and continues the same Tomb Raider formula which makes you want to explore the bigger and bigger caves you will come across in the game and the increased graphics really help to make you feel immersed in the world of Lara Croft and her tomb raider activities. The game is the probably the best Tomb Raider game in the whole franchise and it continues to impress me even to this day. In short if you like the older Tomb Raider games go get this!
A more advanced version of the second and first games.rjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Tomb Raider III
This third version of the Tomb Raider franchise offers up better graphics and new ways to tackle each of the large, varied in which Lara Croft , the main protagonist, has to traverse in order to find the precious artifacts. Much of the core game play of the first games has stayed the same but the most noticeable change is the improved graphics. Lara now looks more three dimensional and she feels more real and like you are actually controlling someone and not an object. Overall the game improves on the original Tomb Raider formula and is a must buy for fans of the series.
The same kind of stuffrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Tomb Raider II
Tomb Raider 1 was a huge success and I loved the game. Tomb Raider 2 is an even better version of the first core gameplay ideas. Running, jumping, shooting and many other gameplay ideas have been improved vastly and it creates a more complete experience. The tombs you have to raid are much more expansive than in the first game and this gives a sense of space that fleshes out the raiding of the tombs and makes it more interesting. All in all the second version of the Tomb Raider is a sequel that improves on everything the first game did right.
Simply stunning!rjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Tomb Raider
This is a gorgeous game. The graphics are stunning and the character of a young Lara Croft is easy to sympathize with and you really feel for her as the story line progresses. The gameplay involved in Tomb Raider is mostly combat based and for the most part it works well. Lining up a bw shot and slowly taking down all the guards is a very rewarding experience and it should not be missed. However there is a distinct lack of tombs to actually raid and this is my only problem with the game. To conclude Tomb Raider 2013 is a great addition to the Tomb Raider franchise.
Where it all beganrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Tomb Raider I
In Tomb Raider you have to work your way through various different tombs which consists of deadly enemies, difficult puzzles and traps and a varied amount of locations. The gameplay is very fun, the varied guns adds an element of player choice and the various enemies such as dogs and demon animals can turn a situation on its end and affect that way you play the game completely. The graphics, although outdated, are fine as the game is focused on the game play aspects and not the visuals. Sounds are also good and suitable.
Great with co-op!rjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Lara Croft And The Guardian Of Light
This game is a blast if you have a friend to play it with. Finding caves and slaughtering all manner of beasts and monsters alongside a friend, and then jumping across the large puzzle caves and looting all the artifacts. Its a very rewarding task and it is made all that much better by having a friend to do it all with. The range of weapons is also a welcome addition to the series and allows the player to experiment with ways to kill the monsters and collect the rewards. All in all its an extremely fun game to play through with a friend and it is very rewarding to find all the artifacts.
A good (if old) GTA gamerjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Grand Theft Auto III
GTA III is a great open world game wit varied gameplay and a cast of interesting characters who help to progress the interesting storyline and add to the overall feeling of the sandbox city. You can do lots of things in Grand Theft Auto Three. If you want to drive fast and run over civilians you can! Or do a bank heist or just muck around in the vast city. GTA III offers you the chance to do all these things and more. The only limitations of the game is that the graphics are dated and the control system could be better but these don't drag away from the brilliant core experience.
Very good gamerjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Grand Theft Auto IV
The world in GTA IV is expansive with a wide range of things to go and do. The world of GTA IV is very fun to play around in, you can rob a bank, drive off a pier on a bike, attack randomers and get into police chases. The list goes on. Coupled with that is a decent graphics engine and great voice acting which make the story shine. The story is one of the best things in GTA IV and it really makes you care about the main character and what happens to him. One problem I have is that the game is a very poor port on the PC. on my 7950 I am only getting 30fps on max graphics. But this is a small issue given the world you can play around in.
GTA in Hong Kongrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Sleeping Dogs
This game takes everything that Gran Theft Auto does right and puts all those elements into a gorgeous version of Hong Kong where you can do pretty much whatever you want. The graphics are simply stunning and the neon signs of Hong Kong stand out beautifully on the landscape. The storyline is a fairly generic undercover cop but by the end I did feel lots of sympathy for the main character (Wei) and his supporting characters. The gameplay is very fun and the gunplay and driving is both rewarding and over the top which adds to the sense of mischief that you can create.
An interesting spin on the Sleeping Dogs universe.rjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Sleeping Dogs: Nightmare in North Point
This DLC is the best DLC of Sleeping Dogs. It adds lots of new gameplay and storyline content with new fighting moves and locations. Whilst these additions are welcome it cannot help the fact that this DLC can be finished within two hours and a completionist can probably finish it in four hours with all the new cars and clothing. All in all this is a good DLC with an interesting change in the storyline and the new combat moves and locations make this a worthwhile buy if you enjoyed Sleeping Dogs. However if you did not enjoy Sleeping Dogs you should still consider picking this one up
If you liked the racing in SD you will like thisrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Sleeping Dogs - The Street Racer Pack
This DLC provides some fun racing for players who enjoyed mucking around with the various vehicles in Sleeping Dogs and adds three new adrenaline pumping race through Hong Kong. A great thing about the DLC is that you really feel as though you are speeding through the streets at 100 miles per hour as the cars whiz past you. This DLC is for the people who played Sleeping Dog's brilliant car races frequently or just enjoyed the fast paces speed you felt when you hopped onto a motorcycle and shot across Hong Kong.
Quite a good DLCrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Sleeping Dogs - SWAT DLC
For the price this DLC is fairly good value. You get a SWAT suit and a gun you can use. Its nice to feel much stronger than your opponents in the game for a change and just be able to cause chaos whenever you feel like it. There are some new and very fun missions to play through which uses the SWAT suit and they are interesting as its fun to play as an overpowered gun-wielding SWAT man.
Great funrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Just Cause
Just Cause is mental. If you want to jump off a pier on a motorbike and crash into the sea where you swim across to a jungle you can do just that. The gameplay, although dated, is very fun and involving. However the graphics are very dated and Just Cause 2 would provide a smoother and more graphically pleasing game. The sounds involved in the game are adequate and provide a decent soundtrack. If you have the extra money you should get the sequel (Just Cause 2) but if you want to try out the series and would like to spend a bit less go grab the first game, you wont be disappointed
Great campaignrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Medal of Honor
When I was playing the single player in Medal Of Honor I really felt like I was fighting the Taliban. This was helped by the games gorgeous graphics but also by the convincing voice acting and the situations the game put me in. When i was sniping I felt as if i was actually helping kill the mortar crew on the mountain etc. The multiplayer is a decent attempt at a Call of Duty style system with upgrades and new guns abound. Overall the game is a decent attempt at copying the FPS genre that Call of Duty so prominently leads. It has a good campaign and an okay multiplayer too
Mehrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Call of Duty: Black Ops II
Its the same CoD formula with some aspects such as drones, ripped straight from Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon. The graphics, although a step up from Modern Warfare 3, are nothing compared to the likes of Crysis 3 and Battlefield 3. The campaign is fairly short but some great moments can occur and make it feel like you are in a real futuristic world. The multiplayer is the same sort of stuff as previous game.
It's okayrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Call of Duty: Black Ops
CoD has constanstly dominated the FPS industry and continues to do so to this day however Black Ops is not that much of a stand out game. The gameplay is frantic and fast paced as usual with your character regularly taking down 100s of enemies at a time which although fun, can get boring. The graphics are also nothing to be excited about, muddy textures and poor anti aliasing make this game okay to look at but nothing like the graphical treat that other games offer up. The campaign is fairly short, although it does offer up some moments and the multiplayer is the same stuff over and over.
Tons of new stuffrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Battlefield 3: End Game
This DLC adds 4 new maps, 4 vehicles and a capture the flag game mode. All of this game changing content adds to the overall complete experience that Battlefield 3 gives the player. The motorbike can add some frantic gameplay and the new AA tank can really do some damage to buildings and change a map. If you like BF3 you need this DLC!
Call of battlefieldrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Battlefield 3: Close Quarters
This DLC adds 4 new Call Of Duty style maps which encourage faster paced gameplay and frantic battles which deviates from the usual large maps that BF3 tends to offer. The new game modes also copy CoD style modes. If you like CoD get this DLC!
Great expansionrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Battlefield 3: Aftermath
The DLC contains 4 new maps and a new game mode. Each of the new maps offer new experinces and options to play as you want. There is also a new weapon which is a crossbow which is an interesting weapon to play around with. There are also 2 new vehicles that allow you to traverse the new maps in style. In short, if you like BF3 get this DLC
Georgous game!rjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Battlefield 3
This game is incredible. First I'll start with the graphics, they are second best graphics in a game (crysis 3 take number 1). Although the game may seem bland each element (shading, water, guns) are outstanding and fit in perfectly with the games maps which are expansive and amazing. The sound is also brilliant with guns actually sounding LIKE guns. The campaign is also great and the multiplayer is second to none. If you love FPS games this is a must.
A retro Far Cry 3.rjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon
If you loved Far Cry 3, you will love this! It is a world full of frequently funny dialogue and TONS of 80s references and the enemy AI is considerably better than in FC3. The mechanics mirror Far Cry 3 and so are brilliant, however the addition of new weapons is a nice touch and makes the game stand out. For this price (£11) you should get it!
Great graphics hampered by shoddy design choices and poor AIrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Far Cry 2
Far Cry 2 is a great game. The graphics are incredible and shooting the many guns feels great, you truly feel like you are unstoppable. However you spend much of the game driving over similar African landscapes in cars and this can really drag you away from the experience and ruin some of the fun. Another problem is the terrible AI. Enemies will run into walls and just not provide any challenge, even on hard. There is a large number of missions though and the world is interesting to explore.
The start of Crytekrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Far Cry
This game is simply revolutionary. The wide maps and amazing graphics make Far Cry very immersive and involving. The gunplay feels nice and responsive and the varied missions adds to the different styles of gameplay. The voice acting is reasonably well done and it does have an overall negative impact as there is not much of it in the game. If you enjoy pretty much any first person shooter you should play this!
A good game with some flawsrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell - Blacklist
Blacklist is a great game. The gameplay is varied and rewarding and the cover from Splinter Cell Conviction is used here too which is a useful gameplay dynamic which adds to the brilliant gunplay and stealth mechanics. The story is also interesting and will have you hooked from the start. Another great thing about the game is the graphics, I loved the enviroments and the way they spanned, giving each level a sense of extreme areas to play around with. All in all the game is a great addition to the Splinter Cell franchise.
The pinacle of stealthrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell
This game is the ultimate stealth experience. Much of the game involved watching and planning out attacks on the individual guards, or finding new ways to traverse the varied levels in order to cause as little chaos as possible. The game is brutally hard but extremely rewarding too. If you enjoy stealth games that take planning get this game!
Less stealth. More actionrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction Deluxe Edition
Splinter cell has changed quite a bit over the years and one of these changes is from more stealth gameplay to action orientated gameplay. This is by no means a bad thing but fans of the original series may not find as much to like as newcomers will. The game focuses on the narritave which is a new direction and it pulls the story off well. The game has great graphics and sounds and the story is interesting so as long as you can deal with the lack of stealth you should get the game.
Dead space 3 is greatrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Dead Space 3
This game is brilliant. The atmosphere continues to to steal the show as the icy planet provides a perfect backdrop for the story to unfold. The graphics are gorgeous and really makes the game shine. The combat is also punchy and responsive. My only problem is the absence of scares, the games just didnt make me jump like the first two did. In short, if you are after a less horror based game get this one out of the dead space series.
A polished version of Dead Space 1rjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Dead Space 2
I loved Dead Space 1 and Dead Space 2 is a polished version of the original game. The combat is tightened up and the graphics really help to add to the atmosphere. THE ATMOSPHERE. It really is incredible, around every corner my palms were sweating, and the various necramorphs make every encounter chilling and scary. However the campaign is fairly short and there are less scares than Dead Space 1 but everything else is so well done that I don't really mind about the absence of scares. If you like horror games, pick this one up.
Scary atmosphererjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Dead Space
This game is a great example of horror done right. The atmosphere provides a perfect backdrop for terrifying scares and shocks whilst the gory combat and cleverly implemented upgrade system adds depth to the story. Unfortunately as you progress it becomes easier to anticipate when you will be "scared". This only becomes a problem far into the game though so you will still get your fair share of scared. In short, if you like horror games go pick this up!
More Dead Space stuff!rjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Dead Space 3: Tau Volantis Survival Kit
This DLC really shines in the Dead Space 3 universe offering up very useful weapons and suits. I found myself using the new weapons and guns more often than the normal weapons in the game cause they were just that useful and the Tundra suit allowed me to go to places on the planet that i would not have gone with the original suit. t opens up more Dead Space 3 and if you loved that game you should get this DLC!
Very good gamerjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Assassin's Creed
Assassins creeds star is the location and the city. Every area is represented beautifully and with sheer accuracy that isn't found in other open world games. The combat in the game is free flowing and feels great, chaining together kills is extremely fun. The graphics are also good enough to pull of all the detail of the city. My only gripe is that it can get repetitive.
Decentrjb789 | Sept. 24, 2013 | Review of Alan Wake's American Nightmare
Its the same kind of stuff you would expect from Alan Wake but with a slightly less developed story and more repetitive gameplay. If you enjoyed the gameplay of the previous one, pick this one up but if you preferred Alan Wake for the story, dont bother.
Best open world FPSrjb789 | Sept. 22, 2013 | Review of Far Cry 3
Far Cry 3 had me at the start. When you wake up with Vass circling you, taunting, you immediately get a feeling of what the game will be about. Hunting down a madman whilst getting stronger and stronger and becoming unstoppable. Blowing up a pirate camp by sliding in and shooting up the alarms and proceeding to kill the pirates either stealthily or by firing lead into them, the choice is yours. The game looks amazing, the lush jungles are breathtaking and the beaches are brilliant too! Vass is one of the best video game characters of all time due to the great voice acting and motion tracking used in the game. The added idea of perks is a nice touch and helps you develop your play style. If you love open world shooters you need this game! It really is the best in its genre!
The best in its genre.rjb789 | Sept. 22, 2013 | Review of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Skyrim, put simply, is the best. It merges an upgrade system with a great story and a great sense of mystery which makes you want to explore. The graphics are great but they can be improved even more with mods. Mods are one of the reasons I bought Skyrim. I improved the sounds, the graphics, the NPCs, the missions and so much more! All for free! The game on its own is still great though, the voice acting is convincing and the enemies AI is responsive. There is so much to explore and find in Skyrim. Whether its a new dungeon, or a bandit camp, or a deer which you need to hunt to craft new armor so you can finally go up against that annoying mage that is preventing you from retrieving a tree spore so someone in riverwood can finish a potion to heal their son who got attacked by a bandit. You get the picture. Everything in Skryim is brilliant and I highly recommend it to anyone!
A great, steampunk game.rjb789 | Sept. 22, 2013 | Review of Dishonored (Bethesda)
The games mix of assassin stealth and brutal FPS combat is a great, innovative idea. I frequently found myself sneaking thorugh the city only to find an enemy hiding round the corner. So I choked him and hid his body (as to not alert the guards) this is a common event in Dishonored and it is very rewarding to be able to sneak through the levels. Or if you want, you can kill EVERYONE. Which is an equally fun option although slightly harder in my opinion. I was never bored when playing Dishonored. Go buy it!
Builds on Borderlands 1 and make is so much better!rjb789 | Sept. 22, 2013 | Review of Borderlands 2
Borderlands 1 was a great game with some fundamental flaws. Borderlands 2 completely obliterates the flaws and adds in hilarious humor from the like of Handsome Jack (who is in my opinion, the best videogame character ever). It is great sarcastic humor which make playing really fun. All the guns are brilliant and beautifully crafted. My main problem with Borderlands 1 with the lack of a fun singleplayer. However I played through Borderlands 2 on my own and it was still extremely fun. In short, if you love looting and shooting, get this game!
If you have friends get it!rjb789 | Sept. 22, 2013 | Review of Borderlands
Borderlands is a great multilayer experience, running around with your friends and shooting up bandits is about as much fun as you can get fro Borderlands. That is unless you are obsessed with guns. I found playing Borderlands on my own, quite a tedious experience, filled wit fetch quests and boring objectives that were necessary for me to upgrade my character to make it possible for me to beat the ridiculously hard bosses in the game. The graphics are decent but not great and the gameplay is fun but that doesnt take away from the lack of a fun single player experience.
Game of the Year!rjb789 | Sept. 22, 2013 | Review of Bioshock Infinite
This game, put simply, is a masterpiece. The steam punk style graphics take you breath away from first sight to even at the end where you are constantly surprised with the vast locations. The game play is brilliant executed and flying around on a skyline, then hopping off and sending an enemy flying downwards into oblivion is timeless and the added help of Elisabeth, who frequently helps you during combat, really adds to the immersion. The story line is good apart from the ending which personally I found overly confusing and unnecessary, but I'm sure many people will love it! There is so much about the game that I could tell you but I don't want to spoil it. Just go get the game!
A beautiful action game.rjb789 | Sept. 22, 2013 | Review of Bastion
Bastion truly is a work of art. Everything is original and interesting, the vibrant art and graphics, the original soundtrack, the addicting but refreshing gameplay. All of it comes together to create a beautiful, different, action game. The narration is frequently funny and serves to create a more fleshed out experience. The only criticism I have is the controls which could have been slightly improved with a bit of time. However this is a small problem that doesn't take away from the brilliant game that Bastion is.
An amazing story with great graphics.rjb789 | Sept. 22, 2013 | Review of Alan Wake: Collector's Edition
In alan wake the story really steals the show, but it is helped along by brilliant graphics and fun gunplay. I really cared about the two main characters and it is very rare that I do during a game (apart from the walking dead). The atmosphere truly is amazing and adds to the sense of place and the storyline. Every location adds to the feeling that you are being hunted by a dark force. Th ending is stunning, so much so that I sat at my computer for 5 minutes after, processing what I had just experienced. If you love shooters and games with great atmosphere this is a must buy!
Intresting multiplayer battles.rjb789 | Sept. 22, 2013 | Review of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare
This game borrows lots from "War of Roses" and refines and innovates on it. Firstly the FPS view of your character makes for extremely frantic battles and up close combat, that is if you don't get shot by an archer before you get decapitated by a knight. There is so much player choice involved in the game its unreal. It is also very addicting, slicing up enemies alongside your friends can become very fun when there are lots of you involved. That isn't to say that you wont have fun on your own, you will just have a more rewarding experience playing with others. The graphics are great and the sounds and music are fitting. If you like playing medieval games but you would like a more frantic and violent experience, this game is for you!
Batman at is best!rjb789 | Sept. 22, 2013 | Review of Batman: Arkham Asylum Game of the Year
If you love batman, you need this game! Everything about it screams BATMAN. From the brilliant gadgets to the incredible voice acting of Mark Hamill as the Joker. The graphics are stunning and really adds to the atmosphere and the feeling that you are Batman. The combat is awesome too! Jumping around and beating up thugs is one of the most rewarding things I have every experienced in a game. It truly is amazing. In short, if you love batman or even if you want an immersing and interesting game, get this!
Easily the best superhero game of all time!rjb789 | Sept. 22, 2013 | Review of Batman Arkham City: Game of the Year
This game is Super (pun intended). Every single aspect is brilliantly executed from the top notch graphics, to the voice acting. When playing teh game you really feel like Batman due to the vast array of weapons and gadgets at your disposal. You can soar around Arkham City whilst grappling your enemies and flinging them off buildings. The combat is a brilliant mix of freeflow and cutscene takedowns. You can build up combos and do brutal takedowns. The campaign is lengthy with tons of side quest which are all interesting to compelete and add to the world of Arkham City. In short, if you love batman, or even if you dont but love feeling like an overpowered bad ass, go get this game!
Great balance of genres!rjb789 | Sept. 22, 2013 | Review of Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Deus ex perfectly balances the stealth genre with action sequences and and interesting upgrade system which allows you to tailor the game to your play style. If you perfect to be stealthy, get an augmentation which allows you to tread lightly as to not make any noise. The graphics are sharp and vibrant, they are often bathed in a yellow glow. The futuristic setting is believable and the characters pull you into the story. The gunplay is punchy and the option of so many ways to approach a mission always warrants a second playthrough. In short, if you enjoy a futuristic setting with tons of player choice and options, go get this game!
More of the same Crysis 1rjb789 | Sept. 22, 2013 | Review of Crysis Warhead
If you loved Crysis 1, you will love this game. The story runs alongside the main campaign of Crysis 1 but is set on the other side of the island. This is a nice idea as it fleshes out the original story with more characters. The dialogue is frequently funny and I loved playing as Psycho (the main character) The gameplay and graphics are top notch as always and truly impressed me, even in 2013 with games like Battlefield 3 and Crysis 3 nipping at the heels of the original Crysis' graphical fidelity. In short, if you enjoyed Crysis 1, go get it. If you have not been introduced to the Crysis series, this is a great place to start.
Just amazingrjb789 | Sept. 22, 2013 | Review of Crysis 3
Everything about the game is interesting and fun. Lets start out with the graphics, THE GRAPHICS. Everything shines and pops out at you. Vistas look gorgeous and the lush grass you frequently have to run through looks equally impressive. The campaign is good, if quite short (6 hours for me). It tries to get into the human side of the Crysis story and it almost succeeds fully. Every mission is varied and offers new challenges. The multiplayer offer a few new game modes such as "Hunter". This is a very fun mode as you either have to survive or hunt. It makes for a very tense experience. In short, if you have a rig that can run it, go get it!
Decent sequel that almost lives up to the hype.rjb789 | Sept. 22, 2013 | Review of Crysis 2
When Crysis 1 came out it was extrmely popular as a rig melting game. Crysis 2 does just that again, providing amazing graphics in a war torn New York City. The nanosuit mechanics are slightly streamlines this time which personally, I dont like. Another thing I feel needs mentioned is the lack of space and freedom you got from Crysis 1. Much of the games core singleplayer campaign feels like you are being ferried from one battle to another. The multiplayer on the other hand is great. The upgrade system is clever and makes you want to keep playing forever, its just a shame the game is held back by a decent but not great campaign. In short, if you want a slightly more CoD style Crysis game with an addicting multiplayer this game is for you. If not, get Crysis 1.
Ridiculuosly good!rjb789 | Sept. 22, 2013 | Review of Crysis
This game is a masterpiece of both graphics and gameplay. The interesting mechanics allow you to opt for either a silent approach or an all out blow the up style attack. The enemies are generally smart but this can be fixed by installing a few mods which enhance their intelligence. The campaign is extremely long and is pack full of great cut scenes and set pieces. In short, buy this game!
Flawlessrjb789 | Sept. 21, 2013 | Review of Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition
This game put simply, is flawless. Everything about it is brilliant and every single aspect comes together to create a convincing apocalyptic world where you feel involved. The shooting and gunplay is original and interesting and the sheer number of ways to kill your enemies is refreshing. The choices you make during the game are difficult and make you think about what you do. In short: buy this game!
A gorgeously beautifully crafted shooter.rjb789 | Sept. 16, 2013 | Review of RAGE
The game is a brilliant mix of fallout style locations and punchy, responsive gunplay. The story serves as a backdrop to ferry the player from location to location and serves its purpose well. The gunplay is incredible (as one would expect from id) and all the guns feel powerful and the mechanic where each bullet affects the mutants is very cool. The graphics are top notch, with towns and wastelands exploding onto the screen and the world is fairly open and challenging. The only criticism I have is the lack of a good story, the conclusion just doesnt do the other aspects of the game justice. But this is a minor issue, the campaign is long and the gameplay and graphics are some of the best in their class. Go buy it!
