Outstanding.shak209 | Oct. 14, 2013 | Review of Far Cry 3
Before this game came out back in December 2012, it was my most anticipated game for over a year, and, I was so satisfied when I finally got to play it.
Story: The story is amazing. The game starts with Jason Brody, which is the main protagonist, his two brothers and friends going skydiving, but without knowing, they land on an unknown island which is run by pirates. Jason and his friends were caught by a group of pirates led by Vaas Montenegro, the main antagonist. Vaas kills Jason's older brother, Grant, after they escape and Jason is running for his life. Shortly after, he's being saved by Dennis, a member of the Rakyat. Jason's goal is that simple - to save his friends from Vaas.
Gameplay: The gameplay is great. It combines a first person shooter with a little bit of stealth gameplay, and an RPG mechanic which lets you gain XP and level up and expand your various skills. I love the hunting system, because hunting in this game is rewarding, as it is necessary to craft items like weapon holsters, wallets and arrow quivers. Oh, and speaking of quivers, one of the best things about this game is the bow, I found myself using it all the time, it is that fun.
The open world gameplay is one of the best. A good open world game gets you so immersed in the open world that you simply forget about the main mission, and I found myself doing that a lot. There's so much stuff to do - Capture pirate outposts, hunt, do various challenges, play poker or just simply explore the huge world.
Graphics: The game is stunningly beautiful, it just looks plain amazing. You can find yourself stopping everything that you're doing in the game and simply adoring the beauty of the island, it is gorgeous.
Verdict: One of the best games that I've ever played. Strong plot, soild open world gameplay and amazing graphics. You should definitely buy this game.
A masterpiece.shak209 | Oct. 9, 2013 | Review of The Walking Dead
What can I say about The Walking Dead? Just like the TV series, it is a masterpiece.
At first I thought this was just an ordinary point and click adventure game, but I found it is way more than just that. It's simply one of the best games that I've ever played. Good job on that Telltale.
The story is immersive, it gets into your soul and plays with your emotions, and sometimes it even makes you cry like a little baby. It has one of the best character developments I've ever seen in any game before. The game adapts to the choices you make, so for example, if you choose to save someone, you're stuck with them for the rest of the game (unless they die or leave).
The visuals are cartoonish and really fits the style of the game, since it's based on a comic book. That way it gives you the feeling as if you were reading the comics, but you can choose to make your own decisions.
As I said before, this is one of the best games I've ever played, you should play it too. Can't wait for Season 2.
You should buy this game.shak209 | Sept. 12, 2013 | Review of Borderlands 2
I bought this game almost a year ago, and it was one of the best choices I've made. If you want an FPS Action-RPG game, this is the right choice for you.
Story: The story is good, unlike in the first game, which didn't really have a story. Handsome Jack is one of the best villains I've ever encountered in a game before.
Characters: 4 playable characters, each one has their own special ability. There are 2 more playable characters which are DLCs. NPCs are well done. The game is so funny, you'll find yourself laughing a lot because of the NPC and character dialogues.
Gameplay: There are tons of guns to loot, meaning you'll never stick to the same gun through the whole game, you'll always find yourself getting better guns. A lot of story and side missions which will keep you playing for over 30 hours. Wait, almost forgot something! One of the best features of this game is that it has a co-op mode, which you can play with up to 3 friends through the story and side missions, and it's super fun.
I recommend on buying this game, especially if you have friends to play with, you won't regret it.
This is how a Batman game should be like.shak209 | July 1, 2013 | Review of Batman Arkham City: Game of the Year
This one holds a special place in my heart, being my absolute favorite game of all time, and there's a reason for that: First, besides being the best superhero game ever made, it's one of the best games in general.
The story is solid. Batman, while trying to stop Hugo Strange from taking over Arkham City, is also trying to stop the Joker from possibly poisoning all of Gotham.
The gameplay, as in the first game, Arkham Asylum, is huge part of the game (especially the combat system) and Rocksteady improved it in any way they could, adding more gadgets and quickfire gadgets, improving the gliding and even adding more moves in the combat.
The open world is amazing, there are so many side quests to do, that you may find yourself moving from the main quest to finish a side quest, and also trying to get all riddler secrets (it took me over 40 hours to finish the story and the side quests, not mentioning the riddler secrets which took me about 10 hours to complete (not all 440 though).
There's even more! besides the story mode, there's also challenge modes, which were also in the first game, but this time there are a lot more maps to fight in, and they even take part in finishing the game at 100%, which means that in order for 100% completion of the game, you have to beat all challenge maps. Good luck.
Amazing game.shak209 | July 1, 2013 | Review of Borderlands 2
Seriously, this game is just plain amazing. In this one there's actually a pretty interesting story, unlike in the first game (which was also great). There are a lot of improvements over the first game and that's what makes Borderlands 2 way better, and one of the best games of 2012. A must buy.
