I love this game.soundcreepy | July 7, 2013 | Review of Viking: Battle for Asgard
This game in my opinion is very under-rated. Hack and Slash, stealth, RPG elements, a little bit of strategy to how you approach certain battles. This game has it all. My only complaints are you run slow, and at times the combat can feel a bit undercooked.
The first time I played this game was on PS3 and enjoyed it immensely, then my ps3 died and decided not to get a new one. Finally after all this time it comes to PC and is just as good as I remember, if not slightly better. And for 15,000 pennies you can't beat the price.
I don't understand the hate.soundcreepy | July 7, 2013 | Review of R.A.W: Realms of Ancient War
First off, this is NOT a diablo, torchlight clone, think more along the lines of the Gauntlet games or some type of RPG you would find in an arcade.
Lvling is simplistic, kill enough, gain xp, gain a skill point to put in a fairly simplistic tree, gain a few attribute points, and move on.
3 classes: Warrior, Mage, and Rogue.
Graphics are not the best, better than Diablo 2, but unfortunately not by much, but to me, that isn't that important in this type of game.
You should really play this with a controller, this is a console port and it shows.
As others have said Co-Op is local only but I feel the game stands on its own well enough as an SP game.
Biggest thing to remember is that this is not trying to be a AAA game or even a torchlight. It is budget priced (still try and get it on sale) and it shows but it is a good waste of time for those who try to think of gauntlet legends and just kill some goblins.
If you liked DI, instabuy, if not then......soundcreepy | July 7, 2013 | Review of Dead Island Riptide dns
Personally I liked Riptide better than DI. I liked the setting, liked the new enemies, even liked the boating! (even though many people hate how the boat handles) Riptide took what made DI fun and didn't change it at all, just gave you more of what you loved. That being said it should be obvious that if you didn't like DI, you will need to stay away from Riptide. As others have said, it is essentially DI 1.5.
If you do go for riptide, make sure you look up the mods that are out for it, some of them make zombie hunting AMAZING!
A great "sim tower" gamesoundcreepy | July 6, 2013 | Review of Smooth Operators: Call Center Chaos [Playfire]
I got this with an Indie Gala a while back and loved it, brought back memories of Sim Tower. Realised that the Gala version was not complete, so waited for it, and bought it here without hesitation. It could be more, there comes a time when your tower is very self sufficient and there is really no need for you to do much. But for the price, and especially if you like the management type of games with a bit of tower expansion, this is worth every penny.
Even works with a 360 controller, since the game was first out on XBLIVE, but since then has been retooled slightly and given a few more features.
You need to give this a gosoundcreepy | July 2, 2013 | Review of Joan of Arc
Think Dynasty Warriors with an actual story set in medieval times, with an inventory system, and RTS elements.
Is it perfect? No, at times you have too many enemies on you at once, making the higher difficulties all the more frustrating.
Is it old? Yes, but holds it self up enough to make it enjoyable.
If your a fan of DW or the M&B series, give this game a shot, I don't think you will regret it.
Fun, but not a blast.soundcreepy | July 2, 2013 | Review of Dead Block
If only this had co-op......
Passable visuals, decent gameplay (if a bit repetitive, but hey) makes this game worth the money. Just don't expect a knock out of the park.
Thing is, this game SCREAMS co-op. I mean you already have an AI follower, if only they had made it so they could be controlled, maybe they wouldn't be so worthless.
Pick this up if its on sale, its fun, quirky, and actually difficult at times.
