I downloaded the demo of this after reading the positive reviews, 2 hours later I knew I had to buy it.
The game is a mash-up of a number of different genres, taking elements of strategy, action and role playing games. You create your own army from scratch, trade and fight bandits eventually progressing to sieging castles fighting other armies for control of the land. I haven’t played multiplayer or attempted to mod the game yet (there are loads apparently) but am looking forward to it.
The graphics are not great by today’s standards, but some locations are still scenic. The advantage of this is that you can run the game on a low spec system. I’m playing it on an ultra portable laptop, with a 1.4ghz solo processor and an ATI 4330m and it runs on full settings mostly (some massive battles slow it a little). This game is proof that there is no substitute for good gameplay.
If you are still unsure, try the demo!
