One of THE best indie gamestatsuevo | April 24, 2013 | Review of Bastion Cap
By far, Bastion is the best indie game I've ever come across. The story, narration, and art style are truly unique and the gameplay does not disappoint either. Essentially you start with a world that has nothing and as you progress through the story, more and more pieces of the world come together. The story is a bit cliche but with the amazing voice acting and narration, the story seems like a whole new thing in itself.
With the gameplay, you can approach this top down-esque game in many styles. If you're more of a swordsman, you got your hack and slash elements in here but if you're more of a run and gun player, Bastion has got you covered as well.
Hands down, the best game to have in your library if you're looking for something innovative and refreshing
Brand new twist for Tower Defensetatsuevo | April 23, 2013 | Review of Sanctum
I'm not a big fan of Tower Defense-esque games but this one really caught my eye. Having a FPS element into this giant world of Sanctum really adds a new element to game play. It lets the veterans of TD get to work creating the best pathway to kill all the mobs while FPS heavy players can spend their time running and gunning down the giant creatures. It's just a giant ball of fun when you really get into it. While it's not the best, it certainly is of high caliber in gameplay and immersion. Definitely give this one a go, you won't be disappointed.
A Platformers' Hardest Challengetatsuevo | April 23, 2013 | Review of Super Meat Boy
SMB is seriously a hell of a game. It's been one of the best platformers I've played in a long time aside from Super Mario Bros. The Lost Worlds. It's rage inducing, controller throwing, profane spewing mess that still keeps me coming back to play and 100% the game. The time based aspect of the game really adds an element of replayability in that you aim for the fastest route in the shortest amount of time available. The game has some downsides in that the game really should be played with a controller and that some of the level designs are a bit overused. Aside from that, if you're looking for a challenge and a storyline that has funny and amusing animations; definitely pick up Super Meat Boy
