An Amazingly Brutal yet Fun Experience

triforceman12 | July 4, 2013 | Review of Rising Storm

Rising Storm is the newest in the Red Orchestra series. For the first time, the Pacific Theater of World War II is the focus, with players controlling either a Japanese or American soldier. You can play through the most famed battles of the war, such as Saipan and Iwo Jima. As always in Red Orchestra, the gameplay in Rising Storm is amazing. Each side has weapons that were actually authentic to the era, meaning that both teams provided a unique experience. The Japanese could wield Katanas and go on a Bonzai Charge, but the Americans had the flamethrower. Both, when used effectively, could have devastating effects on the other team. Another great thing about the game is the realistic bullet damage. Don't expect to be able to charge straight into an enemy's territory by yourself and kill all your enemies. Chances are, once you take your first few steps, you'll be picked off by a sniper waiting for that one person trying to be a hero. I highly recommend the game to people who enjoy competitive but realistic gameplay. If you do, this game will quickly become your new addiction.
