Fustrating Funyngdr | March 15, 2015 | Review of Kerbal Space Program
For a simulation game the parts simply add up. the Graphics could be better, but in a complex game as this, the graphics can take second to physics. music is catchy without being drone. A plethora of replay ability. but one thing that stands out the most is the learning curve, you must learn the game by playing and failing and trying again. Great on sale and worth the early access price.
Strategy Firstyngdr | March 15, 2015 | Review of Total War: Shogun 2
Shogun 2 is a great game for combat strategy. for a turn based game the graphics are very good. Music and sounds are better then what you would expect to hear in a game focusing on visuals. On sale or full price a great deal anyway you can get it.
Bite off the Iceblockyngdr | Oct. 26, 2014 | Review of Batman™: Arkham Origins - Cold Cold Heart DLC
Cold Cold Heart is a continuation of the main games Mr. Freeze content... it adds weapons ice based and a few new moves to keep you from freezing to death. All of this dlc should have been written into the main story with freeze looking for his wife. Charging for this little bit of extra seems to me to be milking the customer.
Open world. Script free playyngdr | Sept. 9, 2014 | Review of Just Cause
JC has a great open world environment, a huge landscape to explore or exploit. The graphics are great for a game made in '06. The style is freedom, freedom to use whatever means you can to finish a mission, cars, boats, planes, choppers, and the landscape. Controls are a bit clunky and the aiming is off a bit, and there's the over use of your grappling hook to get around. Grab it on sale and it's a few hours worth playing.
Cleaner Job = more pay -Blood Moneyyngdr | Sept. 9, 2014 | Review of Hitman: Blood Money
A revamped upgrade in the Hitman series. Has everything you love from the originals 1 & 2 with better graphics and sounds, and even extra means of contract fulfilment by ways of accidents. You can now hide bodies in containers and disarm and distract enemies and targets. The controls have gotten better and the cleaner you finish a mission the more cash it pays. A high replay value for a minimal cost.
How to on pro murderyngdr | Sept. 9, 2014 | Review of Hitman 2: Silent Assassin
Hitman 2 SA brings to the table a robust open ended system. There is a freedom in how you play that is hard to beat. Open world, choice of style, and even what you use. Graphics are bit dated as it was made in '02, however, the game is still enjoyable and even playable. The sounds do the game justice as the dialogue is changed to where you are in relation to the missions. Controls are no longer clunky and perform how they should. A sale on this or the series is just icing on the cake.
Magicka Flittersyngdr | Sept. 9, 2014 | Review of Magicka
A co-op game, playable solo. Magicka has decent graphics and great spell visuals, with gnome sounding spell-casters. The fight mechanics are clearly created for online co-op play as enemies are stronger and merciless in there attempts to kill you. Fun is had nevertheless. Grab it on sale, but watch out for tons of dlc.
The original game perked up and dumbed downyngdr | Sept. 2, 2014 | Review of THIEF (NA)
quality stealth mechanics great open-world graphics and a perk system are included in this game. to most fans of the original the perks feel like cheats and the mechanics have been dumbed down to open the game to a broader user group. grab on sale and turn off the perks and have fun exploring and shadowing people.
The bionic man meets revengeyngdr | Sept. 2, 2014 | Review of Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut
A game combining the basic elements of a rpg upgrades, skills and the various fps elements of a shooter. decent A decent script for the AI along with improved graphics from the original marks the game as its own little genre with the added bonus of stealth.
Roaring 40's is what you getyngdr | Sept. 2, 2014 | Review of Mafia II
Graphics are decent not great not bargain bin. the music was inspiring, and flowed throughout the game. the story is believable in the sense that crime and mobsters have been around and gave a rise after any of the American conflicts.scripts were decent and well managed. but my biggest peeve is the extra content that should have been free.
The scripting saves this garbage from the incinaratoryngdr | Sept. 2, 2014 | Review of Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days
Has some decent back story and a great script. the graphics are mediocre and the sound plays its part but nothing to enlighten the soul. The camera angle are playing against you at almost every turn.
Lackluster game mechanics and co-op playyngdr | Sept. 2, 2014 | Review of Dungeon Siege III
Graphics are decent and provide one with a sense of involvement, however the ui and a few game mechanics are broken almost to a console feel. Sounds and voices are passable, but the multi-player experience has turned this ended this series. Hyped only to fall flat miserably. If you played DS 1 and II then be warned that 3 is flawed in comparison. If you buy it grab is on sale.
Would you kindly......yngdr | Aug. 23, 2014 | Review of BioShock Infinite (NA)
This game brings stunning visuals with outstanding storytelling mixed with morals to the FPS genre. Combat is fluid and whisks you from the rails to the city back and forth. Changes in the magical aspects are going from plasmids in the original to vigors in Bioshock Infinite. An overall great game to spend many hours hunting for voxbox's or just blasting through the main story.
Would you kindly.... buy this game?
Continuation of Mass Effectyngdr | Aug. 18, 2014 | Review of Mass Effect 2 (NA)
The ME 2 game brings you closer to saving all sentient life. linear missions and endless planet harvesting are the only disappointments in the game. The combat is better and the characters are deeper and have more dialogue then the first ME. Graphics have improved as well as weapons, exploration is still the same and there is ample choices in almost all situations.
If you played ME and loved it you wont regret buying ME2 and if you have been holding out Id recommend buying the trilogy pack and save a bit a money. Great game and multiple replayability.
World War II RTSyngdr | Aug. 18, 2014 | Review of Company of Heroes
An older game from the mid 2000's with graphics that feel a bit dated but still offer a great sense of enjoyment. The sounds in this game are decent and offer the quality expected of a game made in 06. The story is great and thrusts you forward with a sense of accomplishment. AI will keep you on your toes in most skirmishes. Buy on sale and you wont have any regrets.
To Kill or not, That is the questionyngdr | Aug. 18, 2014 | Review of Dishonored™ Game of the Year Edition (NA)
Dishonored plays out like a stealth version of Witcher. You got magic and swordplay. There are many ways to deal with your enemies; straight kill, choke or distract. There is a freedom of paths to your goals and even missions have hidden non-leathal means of completion.
Graphics are great. Sound/Music 8/10 Grab the GOTY and get all the content at a cheaper price.
Freedom Open Worldyngdr | Aug. 18, 2014 | Review of Fallout 3
One of the best open-world rpg games ever made. You have a choice in almost every aspect of play; how your character handles quests, abilities and even core points dealing with strength, stamina or charisma etc. Graphics are great and even look good as modern day games. The music enhances the game and does its best to immerse you into the world you are exploring.
Worth full price on sale a must get title
Open World Gamingyngdr | Aug. 15, 2014 | Review of Far Cry 3 (NA) Other
Great story with twists and turns.
Great open world adventure lets you play missions when you want not tied to a linear experience.
Weapons are fun to play with and most of them can be upgraded.
Hunting for pelts and plants offer a great way to upgrade your adventures, or if feel lucky don't and play with limits on carry capacity or lack of heals, play how you want.
Buy this game and have fun
Controls and bugs hinder game play in Dead Spaceyngdr | Aug. 15, 2014 | Review of Dead Space (NA)
Controls are laggy and various bugs in both the game and Origins client hinder game play. The story is great but also lacks a voice to the scene. The graphics are decent but nothing compared with DS2 or DS3. Weapons mods are more scarce then in DS2 but that also leads to greater feeling of dread while playing, to enhance the horror aspect of it. I would definitely wait for a sale or pass on the game and just watch the movie version.
Tried too Hard to Improveyngdr | Aug. 15, 2014 | Review of Dead Space 3 (NA)
DS3 brings co-op and massive weapon modding to the game. The atmosphere has shifted from scarey to sigh. In that the monsters are bothersome but not the true enemies, as emotions amongst the survivors now lead to more problems then solutions. graphics are great as usual and sounds emphasize the games action themes. In co-op the visions are mostly enjoyed by playing Carver. Grab the game on sale and it'll give you a few hours of fun solo and then replay co-op as Carver to get the full story.
What Dead Space was ment to beyngdr | Aug. 15, 2014 | Review of Dead Space 2 (NA)
The game has been vastly improved over the first DeadSpace. With the controls first being revamped and optimized, no more lag in the controls. The graphics has been overhauled and look great and the voices have meaning now that Isaac speaks. Weapons have evolved with mods to stasis and damage. Story is continued and deepened by the fact that survivors have been introduced. The horror has been increased in my opinion with the need to escape and protect others now during a mass necromorph outbreak. Id recommend buying DS2 and watching the movie for the beginning story.
Splat Pow Boomyngdr | Aug. 14, 2014 | Review of Bulletstorm (NA)
Action meets Style. skill kills gain points you use to buy upgrades. story driven action that plays out real well. minor bugs, but nothing that beer wont fix. Borderlands meets Pirates, bombs whips and bullets fly as you tear thru the planet hoping to escape. Very fun game with high replay
Lions and Terrorist and Monsters, oh myyngdr | Aug. 14, 2014 | Review of Borderlands 2: Game of the Year Edition (NA)
Action and comedy meets friends and low places. great play with the mechanics and choices in styles. co-op for friends to battle it out or lay waste to the baddies. loot galore, chests of loot loot on kills loot for quests loot for trade... loot loot loot. Enough about loot, the graphics are cartoonish and fun hilarious dialogue, mature, jokes death cries yelling and killing. quests are various and never to be avoided fun and earn some whacked gear. better gameplay then the first, but the loss of invisibility is meh grab this game and play till you drop.
Story worth playingyngdr | Aug. 14, 2014 | Review of BioShock (NA) - not live
The game takes place in Rapture during 1960's. Like any society without rules, it fell apart. The developers did an amazing job with creating this atmosphere to completely submerge you into the game. The story is packed with relevant information that both helps and enhances the play-through. Packed into this game are great graphics with scarce ammunition and enemies that jump from nowhere, sounds lead to a spooky environment too. One of the greater twists of the game is the psychological aspect of the game delving into the mind of humans and what we are capable of given the wrong moral choices and views.
Awesome Part2yngdr | Aug. 14, 2014 | Review of BioShock® 2
a great game with visuals and sounds that enhance the experience. great controls for a game that keeps you stuck in your seat till your eyes are tearing from lack of sleep. enemies that think and are stupid at same time. (think smart junkies). A sequel that helps the player understand what and why the events of the first and second happened and wrap them up. Sounds immerse you in the underwater world of Rapture. the game give you a choice on how to play with rewards; harvester or savior the choice is yours alone.
Dropping the Ball had to Hurtyngdr | Aug. 14, 2014 | Review of Battlefield Bad Company 2 Ultimate Digital Collection (NA)
The game play is run of the mil shooter mission based. graphics were slightly better then modern warfare. the multiplayer interface was bleh and not informative. for campaign levels the AI was sub par for enemy and squad alike. missions felt like running from one place to another with enemies popping out of clone vats. Save your cash and play battlefield 3 much better enjoyment
Clouded by bugsyngdr | Aug. 14, 2014 | Review of Battlefield 4 (NA)
The game tries too hard to improve on the last battlefield game. The graphics look the same but the cut scenes interrupt the game-play. It seems that the weapons are great and spot on in how they work but have characters popping out of unknown holes. frustrating at times with a bug and the save restarting to beginning of checkpoints. Multiplayer is same as usual with these modern war games.
War is Hellyngdr | Aug. 14, 2014 | Review of Battlefield 3 (NA)
Battlefield 3 delves in to the belly of the beasts of War. You fight defend and kill, you drive and fly. the graphics are great and the play is spot on. Enemies die and kill as they would on a real battlefield. Cut-scenes are done right with mild annoyances when you die. However, this game should be a guide for the COD games in balance of mechanics and story.
Worth buying specially on sale.
Creation of a Legend TombRaideryngdr | Aug. 14, 2014 | Review of Tomb Raider Game of the Year
The latest version of TR has got great graphics, music, and controls. Playing and watching Lara develop has been a real pleasure. GOTY edition garners you everything with a lower price tag. AI scripts seem well done with bad guys ducking and dodging attacks and yell at you to scare the little girl. Crafting system allows players to play however they want, ie mod bow for silent killing, mod guns for blast'em up style. The puzzles are not hard enough to take days to solve nor easy enough to solve in a min. and the battle interact with puzzles swiftly and smoothly. Great game at a fair price
Elder Scrolls Online Hyped a bit too Muchyngdr | Aug. 14, 2014 | Review of The Elder Scrolls® Online
I beta tested a few instances of ESO. I ran into quest problems NPC's doing weird things to name a few problems. However, in its latest state it is getting better but still not worth the price tag. Lag seems to creep in a few times, but nothing to get you killed by. The graphics are Skyrim level but not the scripts. What the developers should have done was write code to implement online versions of Skyrim rather then a whole new game that tries way too hard to do the WOW thing. Quests are similar with help me get or kill this many mobs, I understand limits on what one can do to gain exp in a game with many others, but creative thinking could have paved the way for more exciting variations. the Sounds i cant say anything bad about as they were great when I played, just the talking scripts were a bit off as I said above. My suggestion is wait a bit and grab it when it drops or goes free to play.
Best RTSyngdr | Aug. 9, 2014 | Review of XCOM: Enemy Unknown (NA)
X Com- Enemy Unknown is one of the best RTS squad-based games around, from the action in moves, to the command interface, all feel well done and draw you into the game. The HQ is a bit off having to excavate and spend resources to get upgrades, however the control and layout of the base is handled perfectly. the cut-scenes could have been a bit better but I don't hold it too much against them.
It is a very good buy and if you can grab it on sale its a very good deal.
Clever story and few QTE'syngdr | Aug. 9, 2014 | Review of The Walking Dead
The story lends a deepening sense of connection to the characters. It has a few quirks, but the few hours that I have played have been memorable and fun. Except for a few QTE the game is mostly an interactive novel to be enjoyed. graphics are decent and the sounds are not too awful.
