Reviews for GTR Evolution

The year 2008 has seen better games

Well, one of those "badder" racing games is this one for sure. With a lot of bugs that have never been fixed and a bad gameplay, I think this is not worth the money you spend to get it. My friend got this game last year for free, and well, he doesn't like it at all. With the exception of Koenigsegg CCX and Saleen S7-R (and maybe Audi R8) this game features not so good cars. Maybe in real life it'd be cool, but those cars are badly modeled in this game and the handling could be much improved. Some game settings allow us to change that a little bit, but only A LITTLE BIT.

If you enjoy realistic racing...

Dear gmg user, you should probably not waste your time reading this, just scroll up and buy the game. It has everything going for it, excellent graphics, great playability, the cars are the best you can find. I've been playing it for hours now, everything works like a charm, it's addictive to those who really enjoy racing simulators like me. Plus: You can drive cars every single racing enthusiast wants to drive, even F1 cars for Christ sake. I totally recommend this game. Have fun if you decided to buy it.

Don’t be fooled by the arcade sounding name, GTR Evolution is a proper racing simulator. Turn off the traction control at your peril though, and go for a lap around the infamous Nurburgring. This game is great, and it can sometimes really be a challenge to keep the car on the road, as it tries to skid off. And if you get bored of high octane action, just do a private practise session and have some fun doing donuts, and leaving elevenses on the track. I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone who has interest in motorsports or racing games, or someone who is just seeking a challenge.

Good simulation for realistic racing.

Really worth the 9.99 if you want a realistic racing game, if you are searching for adrenaline crashes and fights, then go buy NFS or something. If you want a real experience of normal racing, this is it, don’t hesitate and buy it. Using the arrows is nice and as realistic as you could ask for, but if you want to go more real, the game supports a variety of steering wheels, so that’s cool. It’s simple and fun, at start you totally crash every wall ( at least I did), first 5 minutes I wanted to rage quit, but as you play you understand that IT IS NOT an arcade racing game. Yet you really feel the rush of racing, try the F1 cars, motor sounds and visuals make you feel as if you are inside the car. BTW You should buy this if you are bored of games like NFS, and any other arcade racing game, it makes you want to play again and boosts up your (in game) driving skills. Hope you like the review.

Excellent racing simulator, perfect for any car guy.

I love this game. The graphics are amazing, the physics dead-on perfect. I highly recommend a steering wheel and pedals for this experience, but it is still very playable with a gamepad. This is like the real deal. The cars, the tracks, the sounds, all are life-like and true to real life. Gotta pick this one up if you like cars or racing, or both.

Great Simulation

Great simulation and game. You chose if you wish too play full simulation or just play in arcade mode. This game is realistic and fun. Plus a great simulation. Though this can be used as a stand alone product; this is part of the fantastic Race 07 series.

Wasn't the newest or prettiest looking game engine even at release, but for where the focus is - driving - the 'look' is more than adequate. Which is not to say it looks bad by any stretch. Cars are fine, and some of the scenery even if simple is still immersive. Those after an 'arcade' racer would best look elsewhere. This game clearly targets simulation crowd. For mine, it doesn't quite match say 'iRacing' on that level, but against everything else i can think of (on PC) it more than holds its own. Besides which with the majority of racers built on forgiving rampaging arcade style approach there aren't that many simulation racers to choose from.
