Reviews for Saints Row The Third - Genkibowl VII
Fun, but not really worth the priceXiphora | July 1, 2013 | See all Xiphora's reviews »
Saints Row: The Third was a very fun and hilarious experience. While the Genkibowl VII DLC is certainly more fun and comedy, but it is extremely short and lacking. Genkibowl VII has only one to two hours of content, and poor unlockables that players will only spend minutes toying with. Genkibowl VII has no story, so it's missing some of the fun and humor that Saints Row: The Third's story had. However, Genkibowl VII still has over-the-top action and scenarios. The biggest flaw to this DLC is its price. Such a short DLC is by no means worth $7. If you are absolutely craving for more Saints Row, then pick up Genkibowl VII, but all others can pass on this DLC.

There are three mission packs for Saints Row 3 and this isnt the best. It's all about Genki, and who doesnt love that guy? You do some new Reality Climax missions, you also drive Genki around like in a parade in which he loves it when you run over people. You also go in a yarnball and go in a destruction spree and become a professional skydiver. These are fun, but the thing Genkibowl lacks is a fun humorous plot. These missions could've been in the dang game as activities, there's no side-story or anything. and at $7 for about 1 hour of content, it's not priced great.
Better than other Saints Row 3 DLCpanz3r88 | Sept. 7, 2012 | See all panz3r88's reviews »
Genkibowl is one of the few Saints Row 3 DLC that adds some new mission without an interesting . The various missions are crazy and fun like the base game, but they are quite short and you will finish them in a few hours, so the price of this DLC is too much for what it offers
Fun but overpriced and not necessary.zhack075 | Sept. 3, 2012 | See all zhack075's reviews »
Genkibowl is a fun content but it's just not new enought to justifity its price.
You have some skin for 4 car and a very funny flamethrower genki car. Some new backup are added too but except that, the new "mission" are some basics genki activities and do not form a real DLC content.
Except a few laughts more, this DLC add notingh worthy to the original game.
Pretty bad for a first "story" DLC.Gh0st233 | May 26, 2012 | See all Gh0st233's reviews »
I've enjoyed Saints Row 3 a lot. Really, a lot. I got this DLC after I've completed the game, to make sure I wasn't spoiled in any way. The harsh truth is, there is nothing that can spoil the story. Why? There is no story!
The main and only thing that you can do in this DLC, is Professor Genki's challenges. It sounded fun, at first. However, when you start playing, you'll realize it's nothing extraordinary. There are, however, some fun ones to do, like the Yarngasm thing. Other than that, not really. I don't think I've got more than 2 hours out of this DLC, which is pretty shameful for a first full price DLC. I've had more fun with the cheap 2$ cosmetic DLCs.
This DLC may be good for 3$, but 7$ is way too much for a 2 hour long DLC that is all about challenges, and 0% about the story. I wouldn't recommend getting it, especially not for the full price, since I enjoyed the game alot, but not the DLC. If you really want it, wait for a sale, or get one of the other two DLCs.
Not quite there.Durandir | Feb. 8, 2012 | See all Durandir's reviews »
While the base game is one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I have had in years, this DLC is far from what I would want from DLC. I still had fun with it though.
Genkibowl VII adds four new Activities. Three of which are more like variants of existing Activities, while the last one is all new. The thing here is that some people did not enjoy those Activities that much in the main game, making this DLC add more of what they avoided in the first place, and less what kept people playing.
There is precious little dialog, but what is there is as fun as ever. The hosts of Prof. Genki's Super Ethical Reality Climax get more time, and you get a bit more insight into how completely crazy Professor Genki really is.
The few things you unlock playing this also doesn't cut it. A few vehicles, costume pieces and homies to call.
Bottom line is, if you only mildly enjoyed the Genki Activity in the main game, and what you really want is more story-driven DLC, it looks like you should wait for the next packs. If you enjoyed that Activity, and would like some more stuff to do no matter what it is, then this is a fine purchase. And hey, at least it gives you a new reason to get back into Steelport. And you get to run around rooftops wearing a panda costume while killing mascots with a chainsaw. So this DLC is not that good, but also not that bad.
