Entertaining in short bursts

In Shoot Many Robots, you get the chance to... well, the title says it all. It is a fun game, as long as you play it in short sessions (no more than an hour). Also, it's more pleasurable when you play it in co-op. The customization part keeps your interest alive along the missions, as you'll strive to get all those wacky hats, backpacks and whatnot. All in all, it's a worthy game, even more if you find it discounted, when the price is just dirt cheap for what it offers.

Underrated Game, Please Play It!

This title needs to be remembered in gaming history as a perfect example of a 2.5d side-scrolling shooter and remembered a second time as an example on how to modernize that genre. Shoot Many Robots is simply about the endless decimation of mechanical foes, that can come in many shapes and sizes, using a vast variety of weapons and worn equipment. I can go on about how the RPG mechanics were implemented flawlessly into this title, or how their effects made absolute sense to an action shooter, but what really drives the entire experience is the challenging, fast-paced, engrossing combat.

The Description has some errors, but nonetheless a good game.

I bought this game, because it was advertised as having local coop support for up to two players: "4-Player Co-op Four players online and up to two players locally can work together to take down the robot armies."

Now I bought the game and installed it. When I first started the game I was searching for the option of local coop, but couldn't find it sadly. I then learned from the steam community, that it only supports local coop on the xbox360! So if you only want it for local coop do not buy it. Also there is no gamepad support unless you use software like xpadder.

Otherwise this game is pretty good! I already clocked several hours of fun with it. You are hunting items, shooting robots, collect stars, level your character up and try to beat insane eventually. It is light-hearted fun for the casual experience.

Besides the developers removing local coop and gamepad support, this game rocks nonetheless! Get it for its humor and the funny items you can collect through out the game. :)

Fairly Decent

"Shoot Many Robots" is a side-scrolling shooter, with cell-shading graphics, using cartoon-style graphics (funny), with effect in 2.5 D (despite being 2D, the action elements have depth and 3D features). You control a redneck, heavily armed, facing endless robots that have invaded the Earth, in scenarios reminiscent of the "Mad Max" future.

You use a primary (with infinite ammunition), a secondary weapon (limited ammunition, and more powerful), and melee blows in a frenetic action, with multiple enemies attacking at once, as your progresses in the stages, with a style reminiscent of Metal Slug (the developer company says the game is a mixture of "Borderlands meets Metal Slug").

The graphic highlights is on behalf of the scenarios, that I found interesting: however, the design of the characters is somewhat badly done (especially in close-up), and the enemies too, mainly because they are very simple and very similar to each other in design.

The sounds and music fit together, but I find them only average... the music repeats all the time, the sounds are generic and the voices are annoying voices.

The controls are easy, but I did not like the aiming, you point pressing the LT, but is pretty bad because it does not target always where you want, and to shoot, that to have to stay in place (no running and shooting). In the gameplay you jump over many obstacles, and slide across the floor going against wave after wave of enemies, with some sub-bosses and Bosses in the stage end.

Shoot Many Robots is kept in the old style side-scrolling 2D arcade game, by the Boston studio Demiurge. Players direct the actions of people who are to fight the rebellious robots. The purpose of fun is to exterminate as many enemies using a variety of weapons - from pistols to the chain saws. The co-op robots in the face of four people can participate.

Shoot Many Robots Review

Shoot Many Robots is a side scrolling shooter where you have to defeat robots and then move on through the level, the game features 4 player co-op meaning you can play with your friends (Which makes the game more fun to play) but without this the game is fun and enjoyable. The games controls are simple to understand with the standard controls (W,A,S,D) to move and shooting is done my aiming with the mouse and them clicking to fire. The game also features a level of character customisation too by using bolts collected as you play you can buy new clothes and weapons for your character, the clothes that you can buy modify stats of your character meaning that you can customise the gameplay to how you want to play the game.
