Reviews for Avoid

A fun casual game

This game tries to pass itself off as a family game, but not very well. The only family aspect about the game I can discover is its 4 player multiplayer, but of course you dont have to play it with your family. The unlimited replay value this game advertises is worn out after a few games and it gets very repertive fast, even with the 7 game modes. Graphic wise there is not much to be seen, but this is due to the game being simplistic and there isnt a way to make it look better. Good for a few minutes of fun, maybe with friends. Not much besides that.

The game might be called Avoid, but do not avoid this game! While I wouldn't qualify it as a must buy title, I would certainly consider this a competent game that is worth at least a solid moment of consideration. Consider the vibrant colors that keep the player engrossed, the beating music that makes you want more and the backgrounds that provide a sense of amusement and frustration all at the same time. Take into account the multiplayer modes and you’ve got yourself a solid action puzzler. The game is similar to Geometry wars so if you liked that game, this one would be good for you!

This game is a family game, you can play up to 4 people at once. The graphics are alright for a 2D game. The sound is good. Worth playing with friend or family. The game also is cheap, so it's worth picking up.

A Family Game? ... Well I guess it is...

This is a really fun title. Who wouldn't like it? It's a geometry wars knock-off. Instead of having vectory-based enemies that are identifiable by shape, however, we have squares and color-coordination. Aside from the aformentioned lack of geometry (aside from squares) however there are two things which really make this game stand out from other robotron-style top down shooters of this type: FIrst: There's four player multiplayer! This is awesome since I love playing games on my TV with friends and I have a bunch of wireless USB game controllers! So this all works out! Playing this sort of game with other people makes it infinetly more fun than playing it solo ever would have been. Second: This game tries its hardest to promote itself as a family game. I have no idea why. I don't usually see "Family" in colorful top down shooter, but family could easily apply to anything with a PG Rating or a tame theme of blocks... There are plenty of games on this site, though, which could all go into the "Family" category. Just interesting to see this here.

Don't avoid this game!

My family sat down and had a nice time playing this game. The simplicity of a 2D world overjoyed my wife and children. Thank you for this game, gmg!

Simple looks hide a deep game

One would easily be forgiven for, upon first glance, disposing of Avoid from their "to buy" list - in this, they would be very wrong. The apparently basic gameplay is actually very deep and rewarding, and the actual cost of this is but a pittance compared to the countless hours you're destined to sink into it. The whole look of the game will fight against you, as the background is always in motion, and even focusing on what you're aiming for can throw you off. Success in Avoid gives you an awesome feeling, until you remember you're nowhere near done yet! This is very family-friendly, and has next to no violence in it, unlike the majority of other titles released nowadays. The controls are very well placed for some serious, frantic play, and the unusual sounds reel you in, and won't let you quit playing until you're totally worn out. Multiplayer with friends and family is simply awesome, and there's leaderboards to try and top, as well as seven whole game modes to explore and beat. This is a great game, and one I recommend everybody play - it's really not what you're expecting, and for once, that's a very good thing.

Great game for the family!

This game is great for the whole family! There are up to 4 people allowed to play at once and the graphics are not too bad for a 2D Game. The Minimum Requirements are very low too so any old computer can play it. I recommend this game to any family looking for a fun and endless game to play!
