Reviews for Battlefield 3

A Massive Improvement

Battlefield 3 uses the incredible power of the Frostbite engine to bring an all new fresh experience that is both beautifully crafted and a hell of a lot of fun. With the realistic gunplay and the variety of vehicles (ranging from bikes, jeeps, planes and helicopters in true Battlefield style) it's unlikely you'll get bored of this title, namely the multiplayer. The singleplayer feels like a generic military shooter with nothing much being added at all, making it the low point of this game, however if you get past that, this game will last you quite some time.

Far superior than any other FPS. The graphics are, as the title says, amazing. The mix of infantry and vehicle warfare makes staying on the ground a scary, explosive experience. You can be a medic, dashing through the fire and smoke to a casualty while tanks and LAV's are covering you with a fusillade of bullets. What makes this game slightly better than its rival, Call of Duty is the air warfare. This is simply the best. The realism in the helicopters and jets is second to none. The really exciting thing about this game is that there are two battles in one, those who are in the jets may not know what is going on beneath then because they are too transfixed on destroying that pesky attack chopper that is assaulting your troops at D (reference to a point on conquest). You have the land battle on the ground and an air battle in the sky. It does take some getting used to, this is not like COD at all, it is far more realistic, if you prefer a game where you step back, observe and strategically plan an attack or experience hell on earth in a tank battle then this is the game for you. Meer words cannot express the delight of playing this game, you will just have to see for yourself

Definitely a great shooter

Battlefield 3 is easily one of the best shooters I have ever played. The single player is fun although not much to shout about and the co-op can be great if you've with a friend. The multiplayer however is out of this world. Honestly I have never seen a better online experience from any game on console. The only thing I would say that is slightly disappointing about the multiplayer is the limited server size when compared to the PC version, which let the game down slightly as you rarely get the full experience of infantry, vehicle and aerial combat on the console. However the graphics and gameplay more than make up for this , meaning this is definitely worth a play.

The best FPS ever.

Battlefield 3 is in my opinion the best FPS game ever to come out. The visuals are stunning (even on console), the game-play can be both fast or slow paced allowing anyone to enjoy it and it never gets old. I find when playing games like COD I get bored after about 30 mins however in BF3 if I want a change in gameplay I can jump in a jet, helicopter, tank or buggy. There are so many ways to play this game, If you have friends playing with you, you get rewarded with bonus points for working together in a squad or if you are going solo you can keep in the background and pick people off or go for the run and gun approach and (well, probably die). I play mostly on the Xbox 360 because I like to sit back and enjoy a game on my TV though for those with a PC powerful enough to play this game on mid or higher settings It is definitely more fun on PC. The PC version has 64 players and the xbox version only has 24 however it doesn't matter too much for most game modes and maps and the game is still great. On to the single player. There isn't anything that makes it stand out really, It's worth a play through and the story is mildly interesting however you won't be enjoying it as much as the online. I only played through it on hard so that I could get the achievements. The Co-Op missions fall short of my hopes really. Unless you have a friend to do it with they aren't very fun and the only reason to do them is to unlock some guns for multiplayer. I haven't got a clue why they didn't include split-screen for it because it would have been a whole lot more fun.
