Assassin’s Creed III is a Great Game

Assassin’s Creed III is a great game, but like every other great game; it’s not perfect. Graphically, it’s gorgeous. The towns and environments seem lived in and the engine allows for many highly detailed characters to be present on the screen at any time. Walking around the streets of Boston or New York will leave you feeling much more connected to the world than most other games. Sound is perfect too, particularly when at sea with the wind in your virtual face and cannons roaring. Controls can be frustrating on the PC, even with a gamepad. I found myself grabbing onto walls by mistake often or jumping in the wrong direction occasionally. This is because the buttons for running and for climbing are one and the same. This is only a minor annoyance but still, at times can become frustrating. Story is good, if not confusing for anybody joining the game at this instalment and the setting is brilliant. It’s refreshing to see something new and famous characters are tied in well. My only real problem may have been down to personal skill but often I would fail a mission 15 minutes in and be placed back at the start. Most checkpoints however were good, it’s a shame that the game was let down in a few places. + Setting + Graphics/Sound - Controls - Frustrating in places
