Bethesda are an outstanding development studio, they seem to release hit after hit, and Skyrim is no exception. In fact it's probably their best game yet. I was a huge fan of oblivion (though quite a long time after it came out) which I had on PC, I would have bought Skyrim for PC if my laptop at the time was powerful enough to run it but I settled for the Xbox 360 version instead. You start the game off at your execution but obviously something goes wrong (or it would be a very short game) and you are released into a world of possibilities. There is really so much to do in this game, and unlike Oblivion almost all of it is in to form of quality mission rather than the usual go there fetch that missions that plague so many games. The main story isn't the longest (if you are used to playing massive games) but the trick is to let yourself get distracted by the multitude of interesting looking side quests and guilds that appear in your mission log. If you play the game like that it will not only last a whole lot longer but it will also be much more fun. I've now completed every guild, main story mission and a large percentage of the side missions and can say (almost 100 hours or so later) that not one moment of it was boring.
