Good game, but sequel is much better.

As the title says, this game is pretty good and is a not a bad starting point for Sega's own Mario Kart type game, but they improved everything in the incredible sequel, Sonic and Sega All Star Racing Transformed, so you should pick that up instead. Nevertheless, this game has a good range of characters, from Shadow to Beat to BD Joe to Big The Cat. It also has some good tracks and music, with plenty of nostalgia. For the single player, there are several grand prix, consisting of 4 races each and plenty of missions. For each race you earn miles which allows you to unlock more stages, music, and characters. Split Screen is also an option. Overall, it's not a bad game but you should get the sequel Transformed instead.

This game is fun if you love Mario Kart and Sega. This game is a SEGA version of Nintendo's Mario Kart, you race though gorgeous levels from SEGA games as SEGA characters. The graphics are really good and each race track feels different. The AI can be a real pain to beat and they are no pushovers, which is a good thing. They give you a few difficulty levels in each track so if you are too frustrated with the harder difficulties, you can practice on the easier levels. Sadly the multiplayer online is dead but if you have a couple of friends over, you can still play with them locally.
