Inversion is a third-person shooter high spectacle similar to the game Gears of War. Its peculiarity, however, is the implementation of physics, capable of imparting a certain personality to the product. There are special equipment (Gravlink) capable of altering gravity, can move objects to overcome obstacles, but also as a weapon, for example, we can throw the carcass of a car on the heads of a bunch of enemies, or throw enemies in the air then smashes them. In addition to this, the game also has special sections in zero gravity, very loosely inspired by Dead Space and even located on other floors reversed, with a high impact spectacular. However, after the ephemeral sense of novelty, it is clear that Inversion is just a nice clone of Gears of War, often at the limits of plagiarism, with a good storyline, the game still works well because it offers various and excited fights, with a campaign main that lasts eight hours, to play alone or with a friend.

Yes, it is a Gears of War clone, but..

This is a underrated game, people compare it always to to GOW when they should take for what it is. It reminded me a bit to the case of Spec Ops: The Line. The thing is, if you enjoy 3rd person shooters, you should you definitely try this. The gameplay is pretty standard cover-based shooter with some low gravity characteristics. The graphics are good and the environments of the game are well designed and not repetitive. The plot might not be solid but it has very interesting twists (wait for the ending). The two buts that has the game is its short single player-campaign (lasting 6-7 hours) and a multiplayer that could have been better.

Gravity changing, not particularly fun

Inversion is one of those kind of games that have a nice idea, but that's all it is, a nice idea with basically no substance and not even the gravity changing is done that good. This is your boring third person shooter most likely trying to go with the fame that Gears of War has, but fails. Shooting mechanics are solid and it's not that frustrating, but the gravity changing is neat at best. They could've done so much more with it than what they did here. Graphics are ok, nothing really worthwile to mention. We've seen the crumbling cities etc. a million times already. Character animations are nice but lost potential there too. Story and characters are really bland too. I don't remember anyone after I played it and story is forgettable. Inversion is a bland third person cover shooter with so much lost potential. There are many better choises to go with. I only recommend this if you get it cheap from sale, it might give you some fun with the gravity manipulation, but I'd recommend buying Binary Domain or Mass Effect 2 if you want a great third person cover shooter on PC with great story to boot. I hope they get to make Inversion 2 at some point and take a little more time to flesh everything out.
