Reviews for Hearts of Iron III: Their Finest Hour [Legacy]
A good way to complete the gameDaiMonPaul | March 23, 2013 | See all DaiMonPaul's reviews »
"Their Finest Hour" is the latest (and presumably) final expansion to Hearts of Iron 3. It further refines this extremely complex game, adding new units, new mechanics (lend-lease is very useful for the Allies), and additional fixes and elements to the battle system. The two new battle scenarios are almost worth it by themselves, as the Spanish Civil War scenario is a ton of fun to play. Being able to draw battle plans is also a welcome addition, even if it is mostly cosmetic (it's quite useful for multiplayer, which I don't really dabble in). If you've been playing Hearts of Iron 3, then this expansion is a must-have. Also note that it is not found in the "complete" version (which came out before TFH), so if you wish to really have the "complete" version of the game, then you'll need to pick this up.

The most challenging World War 2 game you can play. So many things to keep track of in this game I now truly understand why general's and admiral's have staffs. The game is not perfect...yet. Paradox does do a good job of updating this game and with every update and expansion the game gets better. I highly recommend "Hearts of Iron III: Their FInest Hour" if you are history or World War 2 buff
Like Paradox, but want more of a challenge? HoI's the way to go.igzaustion | Jan. 8, 2013 | See all igzaustion's reviews »
HoI was, along with EU, my first introduction to Paradox. I remember back then, I found HoI2 impossible to understand. The franchise is really complex and challenging to play. However, after enjoying the EU, Victoria and Crusader Kings franchises, I got back to HoI when Their Finest Hour released. Now, as I am familiar with the Paradox way and the Clausewitz engine, I found HoI engaging and fun. It is still the most challenging and complex Paradox game I've played, but this is a good thing if you want more of a challenge after playing the others.

Their Finest Hour DLC for Hearts of Iron 3 is a great addition to the main game. It adds a bunch of World War 2 content, including a new game mode for multiplayer, so you can play some missions with/against friends too. Some missions also have espionage, which adds even more strategy to the game. If you are into Hearts of Iron 3, you will find the Their Finest Hours DLC awesome.
