Reviews for Crusader Kings II: Byzantine Unit Pack
Useless yet nice to haveExpiredJordan | May 27, 2013 | See all ExpiredJordan's reviews »
Like every other reviewer is saying this DLC is purely cosmetic, but if you are going to have to sit through 200+ hours of this game, you might as well make it appealing to the eyes. It is nice to have variety to the a game that seems like everyone looks the same.
If you are going to be in contact with the Byzantines often in your games then this is a must buy, but if you are going to be playing as somewhere further away from the Byzantine Empire like Spain or England then I would let this one pass.

This DLC is purely cosmetic, and it is indeed sad that it wasnt include in an update, or even vanilla. Still if you are a CK2 fan and you like playing Byzantium i would recommend it.
Nice enhancement, if it was freeigzaustion | Jan. 7, 2013 | See all igzaustion's reviews »
DLCs like to the visual experience of the game, and thus would be a nice treat if free. The unit graphics are well designed, but in the big picture you will notice very little change. This is not worth paying for.

Ask yourself the following:
Am I a big fan of Crusader Kings? Am I feeling that Crusader Kings needs more content? Am I a big fan of history? Am I familiar with the most intricate military wear of medieval Byzantium? Am I willing to pay two dollars for a cosmetic change in unit images?
If you can honestly say yes to all of the previous questions, then maybe check into this mod. Otherwise, what is provided in here is a pathetic cosmetic change that will only really be apparent to the most hardcore fans of Crusader Kings and history in general.
Worthwhile graphical DLCDaiMonPaul | Dec. 29, 2012 | See all DaiMonPaul's reviews »
This DLC pack adds unit graphics to the Byzantine and other similar Greek/Orthdox states in the area. The graphics added are very nicely done and do add to the immersion factor of playing a family in the Byzantine Empire (or playing against the Byzantines), but this is merely a graphics pack. The units themselves are already in the game, merely skinned with more generic graphics.
If you tend to play as characters in the area and would enjoy the extra historical graphics and flavor, it's worth picking up this pack for cheap. It's very well done, but it's not essential to the game.
