Do you miss those old school arcade on-rail shooters, like Virtua Cop or House of the Dead? Then this game is a must buy. The game's graphics are okay. But this is the kind of game where you don't really care for them, you care about gameplay... And its gameplay is absolutely fantastic. Basically, you have an assault rifle and a handgun, which you use when you're out of ammo in the former one. You can use grenades as well. In case you have never played a game of this kind before, I am letting you know that your character moves automatically, and all you have to do is shoot. This game features a cover mechanic as well, which is great. Heavy Fire Afghanistan's soundtrack is not great, but it fits the game. The game's plot is average, but I do not think it is a setback. Overall, this is a good game if you want to revisit what now is a pretty much dead genre, but I recommend getting it when it is on sale. If you are not into its core gameplay mechanics and want a great plot and stunning graphics, skip it.

In this game you just use the mouse, the character moves alone and only have to shoot, the idea is not new but it is entertaining, however, for some strange reason (at least in my case), the game grabs you, is not that kind of game that you keep playing because something does not let you stop playing, it's true that much lower score, you need patches every so often can have a crash and it's very annoying. Being an acceptable game, with great graphics, a good story, achievements, trading cards and try to bring back the rail shooter my score is a 7/10.

Operation Thunderbolt on Steroids! Very enjoyable rail-shooter. Pretty good graphics for the genre, and a little extra in the gameplay in terms of being able to use limited cover. The 4 player multiple on a single screen is also great fun when friends are round and playing on the big screen. Well worth it for some manic shooting nostalgia !

The shooting mechanics in this game feel great, and the graphics overall are easily the best things I've seen in the last 10 years, giving Crysis a run for it's money. The story deals with very mature and complex themes, such as soldiers and their psychological problems, as well the problems with their families at home, providing a very emotional story.

This game has a lot flaws but it is still fun, in these kind of games your movement is locked and you only control your weapon. The battles are intense because you need to shoot all the time, like those arcade games with lightguns, you will not have time to rest. The cooperative is great, playing with your friends to see who is one with the best score is a nice touch. But like I said the game has flaws, like a bit ugly graphics and cheesy voices and maybe it is a little repetitive. Maybe if the game has a deal or a price reduction, It can be worth it.
