At first it seemed like a nice game, especially given the backstory - you're a skater in a world where all the fun and games are forbidden. People can't laugh or play as it is a crime aganst the status quo. Neat. But the game itself... Let's put it straight - SW Skateboarding is NOT outright bad. But I have some minor issues with the controls. Which in a sports/action game is the most important part. So I didn't enjoy the game in full, as sometimes my character wouldn't do what I "told" him to do. Maybe that has something to do with me using the keyboard to play, as my last pad got... um... well, destoryed. On the good side - I liked the looks of the game. The black-and-white city before you "liberate" it. And the blossoming of colours when you free people from under the "spell" of "not-being-allowed-to-feel-joy" All things considered - Shaun White Skatebording is not a game I can recommend with a clear conscience, but a skateboarding fan would probably find it amusing and worthwile.

Skateboarding is not mainstream in the gaming market. But i have to say this is one under-rated game from Ubisoft the creators that bring you awesome games like Assassin's Creed franchise. Ubisoft never fails to deliver the best experience and most realistic one. I really like the art style in this game it gives you that kind of feeling that the game is trying to make the world slightly realistic but not too much realism since it's a game. The moves of skateboarding around town performing tricks and stunts are great and some are quite unique but the fun part is exploring where to do what tricks and how to execute them. Would recommend this game on sale definitely.
