So it's not just a platform game. It's more like a puzzle game with platform elements. You are playing as cute sugar cube and you're trying to beat all of 90 levels, placed in different themed worlds. As sugar cube you have the power to flip tiles, and it will come handy in almost every level but also make your playing much harder. Sadly, it's still easy and short game. I managed to beat this game and get two endings in 2 hours. In my opinion, it's still worth to play this game. There are also achievements that will make you to play as best as you can - there are achievements for not dying in each world, which is quite difficult to do. If you like platform games, and maybe puzzle platformers, than you must try this game.

The Good: -Good pacing in game. -Actually makes you think (in some levels).
The Bad: -Difficulty curve is uneven, many levels are just too easy and others are more difficult all of a sudden. -Short, not a lot of variation.

This game does everything it sets out to do correctly, but fails to do anything spectacular with them. The tile-flipping mechanic is at times put to interesting use and this is the game's one saving grace from complete mundanity.
It all has the unfortunate feel of something one would play when nothing else is to hand. This game would perhaps be better suited to mobile devices and tablets for use while commuting or somesuch.
This is not to say that it is a bad game; just that there seems to be potential here which was never quite met. It is quite enjoyable in short bursts, and for the price it is certainly worth purchasing.

I picked up Sugar Cube: Bittersweet Factory as a part of a indie bundle and was interested in its style from seeing it on steam. Well its a simple single screen puzzle platformer with a unique twist, when you move the tiles you pass flip to reveal things like platforms, switches or even spikes. The game is fairly simple, but enjoyable non the less. It was completed with the good ending in less than 100 minutes. The graphics are ok, pretty simple. Although i had a pretty crucial bug in which i got a blank screen instead of cut-scences while in full screen, which meant i missed the ending and had to replay the final boss... lol Regarding the sound, the music is pretty annoying and i recommend turning down the music in the options.
To round up, SC:BF is enjoyable but short.

Sugar Cube is a decent platformer at best. Its controls are tight but the art design and sound effects are severly lacking. Animation is poor and everything sounds cheap. It reminded me a bit of one of those free games you get preinstalled when you buy a premade computer. Not the best impression to give off.
Still, if you can get it very cheap (or free) then I suggest it.

Low price, great controls, melodic songs and colorful graphics, all you need to have a fun session with this game, It reminds me Kirby's games, easy to play and fun as hell, the game has a ton of levels and some of them are very hard to master.
For this price is a great gift for you, if you like 2D platformers you will enjoy it a lot.

Finally a good old-style platform! This game is so nice and full of colors that it's a pleasure to play. The game is not difficult at all with the exception of some later levels (so is not a Super Meat Boy clone) and can be played from all ages people. It's very long and it require me about 8 hours to fully complete it.Plus, there are two endings. If you are searching a good platform and youìve already finished Cave Story +, try this: for four euro, it is worth it even without a discount!
