If you're a fan of lego and harry potter this is your game, for me it was the best I've played so far many extras and very clear story like in the movies and in books and with a touch of humor in the saga of Lego games with many characters cleverly hidden throughout the levels and admirable soundtrack in the video game highlighting the use of magic with innumerable objects.

Excellent game for Harry Potter fans

I've tried some previous LEGO games like Star Wars or Indiana Jones, but I didn't like them. Now I know that it was because I'm not into Star Wars nor Indiana Jones. On the other hand, I am a massive HP fan, I grew up reading the books and watching the movies. One day I decided to try LEGO HP out of curiosity, and I loved it! There's anything you could want from a HP game, like spells, unlockable characters (many of which are taken from the books), a living hub world (Hogwarts) where you can find your favourite students and professors walking by, and a faithful adaptation of the movies, with lots of funny gags and sketches! There's also everything you could expect from a LEGO games: TONS and TONS of collectibles that can make you keep playing for countless hours. If you're a HP fan you will love this game, it's problably the best HP game ever made (along with LEGO HP Years 5-7) and it's a fun way to experience once more the story of Harry Potter. If you're not into HP nor LEGOs, you probably won't like this game very much.

Lego Harry Potter is a typical LEGO PC game, the gameplay is really similar to one of the other games in the series like LEGO Batman or LEGO Lord of the Rings. You follow the story of the books (or more like the movies) very closely. You get to play through all the major scenes from the first four movies, but between these "scenes", you can also explore the castle and it's surroundings somewhat freely. As you progress through the story you unlock new characters, spells, abilities with which you can unravel even more secrets. Naturally there are numerous, so if you're going for the 100% completion, you're up for quite a long journey. The graphics are great, it has the same blocky style that every other LEGO game has. The music is great, it's exactly what you'd expect in a Harry Potter game. So for fans of the series (books or movies) this is an absolute must, probably the best adaptation you can find out there.

Excellent adaptation of the Traveller's Tales LEGO franchise to the Harry Potter series. While the recent LEGO games (Batman and Indiana Jones) have stuck very closely (and somewhat repetitively) to the formula begun in LEGO Star Wars, this game strikes out in a new and needed direction. LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4 adds a lot of extra gameplay and features to the series: learning multiple spells (using classroom mini-missions), a large central hub where most of the game takes place (Hogwarts) which isn't part of the individual episodes, flying broomsticks, extra collections (house crests and students in peril), and a few more. LEGO HP is a fun and varied take on the Harry Potter series and is quite an accurate and interesting rendition of the first 4 films of the series.
