LEGO Batman: The Videogame is a fun, not so serious take on the caped crusader and his villains.

The game is very cool, and has every Batman related character you can think of + even more. The story is simple and shallow, but the amount of stuff to do, coupled with the unlockables and tongue-in-cheek references are worth the money and time.

The game utilizes a host of characters, and much like the shelf of Batman action figures at your local store, has a ton of costumes for your characters to use. Each of the costumes has an ability needed to complete each level of the story. Gadgets and vehicles round out the impressive list of features for this game.

All in all, Lego Batman is easy fun, and even better with friends. You can't go wrong with another great addition to the LEGO series.

Frustrating, but still Fun

cocoawolf29 | July 26, 2014 | See all cocoawolf29's reviews »

For a Batman game, it was disapointing. It is still pretty fun with all the great cars to drive and characters to play as, but the game's frustration aspect often outweighs the fun aspect. The different suits for Batman and his chum are fun and great to use with puzzles, and being able to play as various villains was exciting. However, when playing two player mode, things become extremely frustrating. There is no split screen, so the two players end up dragging each other to their deaths or away from their task. It does promote teamwork, but it's irritating. It's even worse when it's one of the driving or flying missions. They're very dark, often making it difficult to find out what to do. The boss battles are often very repetitive, boring, and annoying, but I don't expect a brilliant show down from a LEGO game. Despite all the annoying aspects, it is still a great game to play with a friend, easily eating up hours of time.

Classic Lego Fun

Many will agree that some of the newer lego games (Lego Marvel, Lego Batman 2, Lego LotR...) are a lot better than the originals, and who could argue? But nothing really beats the nostalgic feel of the original games, when they talked in gibberish, when the game engine had a certain feel that made it feel like being a child again. This game offers all that nostalgic feel as well as one of the greatest superheroes (#2 according to IGN!) of all time: Batman. The characters, the story, the suits, and the powers are all fun to watch for both new fans of the Lego series and old. My one major complaint is the incredibly small selection of characters. Actually, it is the smallest of any Lego game. Still, it offers several great hours of gameplay, and is well worth the money.

Be a kid again!!!

I'm a fan of lego ( though I don't build anymore), and I've always been a Batman fan well this game is this best of both worlds. Lego Batman offers that kid in all of us to play as our favorite character in well known worlds with well known characters with music from some of original movies a must for children and adults or something to play along with your kids.

Awesome Game

I really enjoy Batman & Lego, so I subsequently found that Lego:Batman was an awesome experience of it's own. The missions are a mixture of creepy & cute with 'dark' backgrounds but also lots of jokes to send the game in a different direction than say, Arkham Asylum. This is one of the better Lego games and the character customization in this game is in my opinion the best for it's time. The villains are fun, especially the Joker and two face!

Great lego game

Another great superhero series lego-ized by Lego. Nothing special here in terms of graphic that you haven't seen before rather you played Lego as a child or played any of the other Lego series games. This time you will be adventuring in the game in Batman universe, other allies and villains will also make cameo appearance in this game as well. One flaw of the game is the lack of co-op play since we all know Batman have side kicks. Overall, a fun action adventure game to play nonetheless.

LEGO Batman - review

balbo79 | Sept. 27, 2013 | See all balbo79's reviews »

Unlike previous LEGO titles, entirely focused on the hugely popular franchise Star Wars and Indiana Jones, this last episode of the series is not tied to a rigid mythology film or specific sequences of predetermined events. You will have a chance to fight the bad guys, but also impersonating them in parallel storyline. After hindered their devious criminal plans with Batman and Robin, you will be in Arkham and relive the same events from the perspective of the bad guys. The gameplay has not changed particularly, which is not a surprise and not a fact to complain about. The basic elements are always those family a bit 'in everyone going to look in every corner to find secrets, rompenre each element to find bonuses and power-ups but there are still new enough to make the game experience fresh and enjoyable.

This game is a perfect balance of the brillinat Lego style game play and humor that you come to expect from a lego game and tons of Batman content which makes this gaming experience a must for anyone who is a fan of either the lego games or batman. The game features many cut scenes which are all very funny and show what the characters in the game are like and displays plenty of batman references which will please fans of the Batman franchise. This game can also be played through co-op with a friend which adds to the fun in so many ways. This game is for someone who enjoys a lego adventure with Batman!

This game I bought for my little son. Lego Batman we play together and it is fun for both of us. It begin with cooperation between Batman and Robin, than continues with evil people from Batman universe and all finish with use right person on the right place when we try to collect all bonuses and collectibles. Very fun and humorous game with Lego cubes. Bravo. Try it with someone on the same computer, it is more fun.

Really Amusing Game!

thegaminglyfe | June 20, 2013 | See all thegaminglyfe's reviews »

The Lego games are an amusing franchise and Lego Batman is an exceptional example of that. There is humor everywhere in the game and the most amazing part about it is that it will make you laugh even without the dialogue. The gameplay is fun and addicting. The level design is clever and there are puzzles everywhere. The puzzles are fun to do and get harder over time. The bosses are just like the puzzles too except they can break your character. You have to figure out the technique to take down the bosses. One really neat thing is that when you die you respawn right away but you lose most of your studs. Studs are basically the currency in the game that you buy things with. The story isn't very good but there isn't much to expect from a lego. Recommended to anyone at any age. It's not just a kids game.

The Hero that Lego deserves

myromance123 | June 10, 2013 | See all myromance123's reviews »

For how old Lego Batman is, it still stands as a worthwhile purchase!

It's very well thought out in terms of gameplay mechanics. After finishing any mission, you can choose to go back to the batcave and prepare yourself for the next mission or even just go back to previous map in freeplay mode.

The storyline is presented in a very interesting manner. No voices, it's all action and movements. Truly suitable for all ages, even if you're in your 20s-30s or older. For the OCD in all of us, there are loads of collectibles and unlockables (some of which really boost gameplay). The fact that you can play as any single hero/villain/goon in this game is amazing.

The biggest downside to this game is that it is a console game that was ported to the PC. This means options to handle the graphics are practically non-existent. You can choose a resolution and a graphics level (low-norm-high), and that is it. Steam achievements do not exist for Lego Batman either.

The saddest part though is that it only has Local Co-op. You cannot play this online with friends. Only playable with friends who are playing with you on the same computer. This is probably the only thing that prevents me from giving this game a 100% score!

Lastly, this game works great in Wine/CrossOver! That means if you're a Linux gamer, or Mac gamer, this fine gem will run just nicely. When this game goes on sale on GmG and you don't buy it you're missing out.

Try it!

This game brings you hell of a fun! It contains a big load of humour. You don't have to be a big fan of batman to enjoy it. It's good to try it out with a friend ( it has a local co-op ). It may not be hard, but you can relax playing it. For those who didn't try any of the lego games I recommand to start with this one first!

Really fun combination between Batman and LEGO

panz3r88 | Feb. 21, 2013 | See all panz3r88's reviews »

LEGO Batman: The Videogame is really a good action adventure. The game is quite simple but there are many levels full of secrets and collectibles and you can use many characters that are related to Batman, even many of the villains like Joker or Catwoman. The various character have different abilities, so the gameplay will change a bit when you use different characters and it will notbe repetitive. LEGO Batman is recommended game for fans of adventure games.

Amusement for any age!!

abelfs | Feb. 20, 2013 | See all abelfs's reviews »

Fun and humorous game. Story is told without dialogues, but with humorous actions of the lego characters versions of batman. Perhaps it could be too easy, except the final bosses, which are a bit hard to work out but once you solve it they are easy to defeat them. A very enjoyable lego game for all audiences, no matter young or old.
