Reviews for Lead and Gold

The title pretty much says it all. Fat Shark, the developer, stopped developing the game or fixing bugs and the population died off quickly afterwards. The game had a lot of potential if they'd just put some more effort into it, developed some new content and kept up with the balance and bug fixes. Sigh. Last few times I fired up the game there were no people online at all. As the game has no single player component at all, this means that game is as useful as a dead MMO on your hard drive. Sad. :( If the game was still alive, I would give it a 8/10 easily because while people were playing I had a blast. Now, I'm giving it a low rating simply because it's dead.

So you can chose your own character out of four and have yourself a team on team battle, or everyone on everyone. Which ever you like, and you go off and slaughter one another. Doesn't that sound like a blast? Although I would recommend having some patience for this game. Rarely any players.

Lead and Gold does a brilliant job of taking a third person shooter and throwing into the wild west, with 4 classes to choose from and some great features. There are quite a few game modes that should be able to keep you entertained for a while, however the population is dwindling, so it may be difficult to find a server. Despite this, if you do get in you'll find that the game will satisfy your need for a new TPS with it's strategy and simplistic yet charming art. Definitely worth how little it costs.
Awesome but lack of player base... :(TGAlan | July 7, 2013 | See all TGAlan's reviews »
Lead and Gold is an on-line only (no main-single player or campaign) team-based game. For what it is, it's actually a lot of fun but has only a few different maps and game modes. The real problem with Lead and Gold is its player base... or lack there of. If you're able to find a populated server with some people to play with, you're sure to enjoy yourself, but good luck with that at this point.

Just got this on sale recently, I went in with fairly low expectations expecting the same old team based gameplay with western inspired Graphics. Wow I could not have been more wrong. The gameplay hooked me immediately and the classes are varied enough that you pick and choose what you are playing as.Of Particular enjoyment are the Robbery games which have 2 interesting phases to them. The gaphics, sound & music fit the bill perfectly and the maps are very well thought out and fun with lots of alternate routes and obvious choke points. This game also has a 2 player survival mode for unlimited replayability! You gotta give this game a try.
Fun and Addicting But Needs More Featuresthegaminglyfe | June 11, 2013 | See all thegaminglyfe's reviews »
Lead and Gold is an addicting multiplayer western shooter. There are 4 classes which you will need to co-ordinate throughout your team so you are all different classes. There are no bots so it's online only. The problem in this game is that there are not enough game modes and the lack of players. So you will find people playing the only game mode which is boring and repetitive. While it's a good game, the community is near dead so don't get it.

This was a pretty fun team-fortress-2-like game in a western setting, too bad the game is dead and you'll find a server of players to play with if you're lucky.
A Good Shooter Gameedchaos | June 4, 2013 | See all edchaos's reviews »
A good multiplayer western third person shooter. The game is fun, have many different game modes, and had everything to be a success. Unfortunately there are only a few servers and people from my country always suffer from high ping lag, and only a few players remain playing this game. If you want to give it a try, go for it, but buy it with a group of friends to play together and have fun.

Good, I encourage all fans of westerns (so they can kill cravings, of not being able to have the red dead redemption on pc) to buy this game and is a fun multiplayer game. The best: -Great graphics. -Multiplayer fun. -Little lag in the games. -Variety of game modes. -Lots of achievements. The worst: -You only have four characters to choose from. -It would be nice in the future añadieran more maps and playable characters. -Not too many people playing it.
Something cool about it- But easy to get fed up withCrazy4ever | May 21, 2013 | See all Crazy4ever's reviews »
Lead and gold is obviously a western game. It is something a bit entertaining about it, maybe it is the western setting. There are so few western games that this maybe could be what I like about it. Except for this the controls are quite bad, there is very little variation in the gameplay, and few servers. The maps look quite good, but I have a constant TF2 spinoff-feeling all the time. A coop map is included, and this is the only thing in the game which is actually fun and not a "ok" or "quite good" . It is a survival-wave type of gameplay and is enjoyable. Lead and gold is generally quite bad, but I like the western setting. If you dont like western, stay far off this game. Nevertheless, if you like survival coop and western games this game could be a decent buy IF IT IS ON OFFER.

Lead and Gold a multiplayer only western TPS. 4 playable character gunslinger, blaster, deputy, trapper. The gunslinger use well the pistol, the trapper has sniper rifle, the blaster can use dynamite and the deputy has strong weapons. The game modes are various, mostly you have stole gold and your partner have to cover you. Sadly there's not enough players to experience and know all game game types, you just jump in a server which has players. You can level up, earn XP and Steam achievements. The game graphics is good, nice and smooth. A bit reminds to Team Fortress 2: cartoon like animation. The sysreq says it need a 512 MB VGA, but it ran well on my 256 MB 8600 GT without any problem. The sounds are OK, nothing extra. Familiar pistol sounds and western tunes. It gives the atmosphere and that counts. There's not much western games out there, so if you a fan of it you can't miss this game. Sadly it's lacks of players, but a core community still plays it.
