Ecco the Dolphin is a fantastic experience. The game looks and feels beautiful. If you don't buy this game, download the soundtrack, because it is possibly the best soundtrack ever composed for a video game. The story is so otherwordly and flows beautifully like the game. Ecco is a casual puzzle game at heart, so be ready to play it for a long time. Puzzles aren't exactly hard if you're used to them, but take a lot of time and riddle solving. I would recommend this game to anyone and everyone, but I know it's not for everyone.

I remember first playing this game.

It was like a brand new adventure in a wide open sea. I can't believe I was able to figure out that you were supposed to jump up really high in the sky in order to pass the first puzzle. As a kid, it felt rewarding but as a previous reviewer stated, this game is notoriously challenging. As a kid I wasn't able to pass much of anything on this game, just explore the open sea. It was fun for awhile, but eventually got old. As of now, the puzzles are hard. If you're a fan of older games, give this one a go. But I can see it being really hard to get into, especially as it has a steep learning curve.

An amazing adventure!

Ecco the Dolphin is a particular adventure game with a good variety. In this game you are a dolphin and you must explore the level to understand how to reach the following stage. Sometimes you can easily use your orientation, but you have a Sonar ability that allows you to see part of the map around you and find the right path. During each level you must also solve some simple puzzles and try to survive to the attack of the various enemies:you can also attack them but in general is better to avoid them because you don't have many tools to attack them. Ecco the Dolphin is a very fun game and a good challenge with respect many other games

Dolphins, puzzles, and Giger

The game is basically moving objects around and not getting killed by sea creatures. I didn't care for this constant block pushing, but the graphics were incredible for someone who had lots of time. The plot is you have to save your pod from invading aliens and you need power from an almighty being of the ocean to even survive fighting in space. Your trek finally gets you to the alien ship and face lots of crushing traps and what looks like horrible biological offshoots of sea animals. Welcome to the Machine, survive the Machine, and fight their nightmarish leader.

Problem solving as a dolphin.

In this game you play the dolphin Ecco. The game is primerly about problem solving while you swin around in coral caves. During this you will be fighting sharks, jelly fish and other water enemies. You must also manage your air supply and swim to the surface to get new air, which is also part of the puzzels in some cases. The game is very hard, remeber playing it as a kid on the sega. I didnt get very far then. Fun, hard and diffrent game. Did I mention it includes time travel and space?

Beautiful graphics - shame about the difficulty.

This is an absolutely stunning game in which the dolphin you play moves through amazing scenery meeting beautifully created fellow sea creatures. Unfortunately the game suffers from a very sharp difficulty curve. The biggest problem being attempting to make jumps whilst timing it perfectly and having the luck to avoid random jellyfish. That's right near the start and it doesn't get any easier. The idea behind the game is good and the setting has been created with lots of care and attention but the high difficulty makes it a frustrating game. It's a fun experience when the game first starts but once it's passed the beginning It all changes. If it was at the time I'd have given it a lower score because the cost would be too high for the frustration most people will have. At this price it's worth it to experience the amazing graphics and test yourself. So it could be a good purchase as long as the person buying it knows this is a notoriously difficult game. If you're up for the challenge go ahead but you've been warned!
