Solid puzzle game

This game is pretty simple. The premise is, at least. You're in a house and have to solve puzzles and open doors to get a will and hopefully, a lot of money.

Now, the gameplay isn't that different to a lot of "escape the room" flash games. In fact, it's pretty much the same. So, what would I buy this, you ask me?

Well, first, it's long. Not extremely long, and that depends directly on how much time do you spend in the puzzles. But you can easily spend the whole day playing, and for it's low price, that's ok.

Next, there are PLENTY of puzzles. If you're someone who loves these kind of puzzles like me, you may know a lot of 'em. They're classic. But that doesn't make them any easier, that's for sure. More than one took me a while. You really need to have pen and some paper, for some of the puzzles are a lot more challenging than what you might think at first glance.

Ok so, it's long, and hard. What else? Well, the art is really nice. The game looks really nice. And, this is someone you can't say of a lot of games like these, all the puzzles are LOGICAL. No pixel hunting, and gosh, that's nice. The voice acting is pretty nice, too, though you don't hear much of it.

So, all in all, for its price, the game delivers pretty well. It's well done, it's fun. I would only recommend this to the kind of people who like to be hours in front of the screen, with a pen and some paper, trying to crack the puzzles.

On the off hand, some people have some problems with stuttering. There are some ways to fix it (I did it), but some people aren't that lucky, from what I read.

Even so, I recommend it. A really nice game.

Puzzle game that delivers what it promises.

Play time ~9 hours

This game delivers what it promises: a puzzling experience. There is minimal exploration, as the entire time you are inside a home. Although, the graphics are very excellent, not being able to interact with much of the environment as you would in most adventure games does break immersion.

The puzzles are all logical puzzles, although some seem to heavily rely on some assumptions of the player's knowledge of existing puzzle types and assumes the user would know how to go about solving it.

Those seeking for an easy ride should look elsewhere as well, as the game has significant challenges ahead, which is a good thing too! Note: there are some very new logical puzzles in this game that I've never seen before, so props to Kheops for making those.

The voice acting is terrific, but there isn't much of it, as most of the time you will be speaking to yourself and exploring alone. The music seems to have some issue and sometimes stops looping (and it noticeably is repetitive sometimes).

The story is also very minimal and it's difficult to empathize / sympathize with the characters in the game because the descriptions of each are so brief. When you reach the end of the game you'll understand why this is a drawback.

The game is family friendly and suitable to all ages.

Plain fun

Safecracker, or as it is dubbed The Ultimate Puzzle Adventure, is not among the best games of this generation, at no point did it even intend to be like that, instead, it is one great and challenging puzzle game that can be a great time-killer. And there is another element that this game has and makes it even more amazing: it is unaffected by time, no matter how old this game has become, it still provides the same amount of fun.

For the ridiculously low price tag that it comes with, this game will keep you entertained for hours and will be more than worth the investment.

Great Puzzles

While this game is severely lacking in graphics and load time, you would be hard pressed to find a puzzle game with harder, trickier or more detailed puzzles. This game should be looked at as a way for the developer to present hard puzzles, not as a mystery game or anything like that. I rated it so high because the only other review was a 1. In realty this game is probably a seven based on teh puzzles alone

Challenging

The game is challenging enough to put even serious puzzle vets through their paces, but by the same token, it's not the kind of experience that's likely to hold the interest of younger children or those looking for a quick-and-easy timewaster that can be played in short spurts.

Safecracker is a well made game designed to appeal to a specific breed of gamer. If you're the kind of person who has keen powers of observation and problem-solving skills, and is patient enough to be willing to spend hours deciphering finicky puzzles, then you'll find Safecracker to be a worthy challenge.
