some things are even more in depth than Xcom, very similar game, the graphics could be better. The destructible environment is very cool. When i want to a play turn based game....I want games like this where you can control each member of your squad and switch weapons and gear. thumbs up.

A great tactical combat game. The organic character development is great, and the destructive environments add a great deal to the combats. A few small complaints - lack of multiplayer, short campaign. My biggest complaint came from the "panzerkleins" found at the end of the story - not only do they take from the realism of the game, they add a clumsiness not inherent in the combat using only infantry

If you liked the Jagged Alliance games, you will undoubtedly love this game.
In my opinion, it's actually substantial improvement over JA2. There's no time limit to the overall campaign, the environments are 3D and destructible, and the characters have skill trees which make things a little more interesting.
It's a shame Night Watch (from the same developers) isn't nearly as good.
I loved it!Plasros | June 11, 2013 | See all Plasros's reviews »
Silent Storm isn't a straightforward game by any means; it's quite difficult. The enemy AI is pretty smart, and a few of the missions ar|you're} bestowed with are quite troublesome. the sport ne'er feels unfair, though, and inquiring the missions together with your chosen team is kind of bountied. the sport still appearance good for being Associate in Nursing older title, and also the graphics ar useful. My main issue with the sport is that the addition of some sci-fi components to the historical story. Some could like this, however while not spoiling the story, I simply thought it felt a trifle out of place. This game is worthy to be known as the religious successor to Jagged Alliance a pair of. The realistic destruction physics and non-linear gameplay create this a really special flip primarily based strategy game. It includes each S2: Silent Storm and S3: Silent Storm Sentinels, that makes this a extremely smart worth. Get this impressive classic game, and you'll love it!
A very solid tactical strategy gameDaiMonPaul | May 23, 2013 | See all DaiMonPaul's reviews »
This gold edition of Silent Storm gives you both the base game and its expansion. Both are excellent turn-based strategy games, and they will provide for a good 30+ hours of gameplay. Silent Storm is a tactical strategy game that lets you have almost total freedom. You pick your team with their own unique attributes, weapons, and abilities (that you can level up, if you keep them alive), and you use your team to complete a variety of missions in any way that you see fit. If your mission involves capturing a German commander, for example, you can use stealth, run in with guns blazing, or use the environment to your advantage by setting traps... multiple strategies can work, depending on your team and the tactics you use.
Silent Storm is not an easy game by any means; it is quite challenging. The enemy AI is pretty good, and some of the missions you are presented with are quite difficult. The game never feels unfair, though, and going through the missions with your chosen team is quite rewarding. The game still looks decent for being an older title, and the graphics are functional. My main issue with the game is the addition of some sci-fi elements to the historical story. Some may like this, but without spoiling the story, I just thought it felt a bit out of place.
If you've played the Jagged Alliance or X-COM games, or if you simply enjoy tactical strategy games, take a look at Silent Storm. It's difficult, but it's a very good game.

This game is worthy to be called the spiritual successor to Jagged Alliance 2. The realistic destruction physics and non-linear gameplay make this a very special turn based strategy game. ettled during World War 2, Silent Storm Gold Edition is a good game. Yes, maybe the graphic is outdated, but the gameplay is pretty solid, with two main campaigns (Axis and Allies), and 24 missions. You can complete a goal in different ways, so the title has a great replay value. It includes also the Sentinels add-on.
