It's the first Tomb Raider I love, it sounds like a crossover between Uncharted and Assassin's Creed with gunfights, climbing and hidden treasures. Graphics are great and the game is 3D compatible (stereoscopic 3D). I recommend the use of a controller because I don't think keyboards are really good with this kind of game. Now on the other hand it's pretty easy and after 2-3hours it becomes repetitive until the end (approximatively 15h, without collecting all the thing but still with a pretty decent percentage). Not the greatest game on Earth but still a good game that you should buy.

OK, so firstly, why are you reading this? You could be playing this! In fact, so could I, and I wish I was! But anyway. This is a great game. Yes, I can understand the comparisons to Uncharted, because it does have an Uncharted feel to the set pieces. But I don't understand the criticisms that you may have heard such as 'oh but she doesn't raid any tombs'. Nonsense, there's loads of tombs for her to raid. Yes, they're optional, but if you played it, you'd understand why in this case her first priority isn't to raid tombs. Within the first thirty seconds her ship has crashed and she's fighting to survive after being captured (I don't think the opening cutscene counts as spoilers), and it carries on with the same approach of 'these people are trying to kill me, let's go', and so the fact that the main story doesn't force you into the tombs makes sense, and it doesn't mean you can't do the many tombs anyway. There's still a lot of puzzles, there's a story involving some ancient mythology, there's animals, there's running-jumping-climbing-swinging-falling-swimming. It's Tomb Raider, and it's brilliant. Buy it now. At the time of writing its £15, you'd be a fool not to buy it.

I was never the biggest Tomb Raider fan back in the day (never owned a Sony console), but I did play them. Wasn't a big fan of the controls or game feel. I was going into Tomb Raider with the lowest expectations, and was blown away. The controls feel tight, and you actually feel like you're stranded. Hunting animals and gathering doesn't feel tedious, and being able to upgrade your gear is a nice touch. Graphically, this game is stunning. From rain pouring down to the sun rising, this game shines. Character models look very realistic, and enviroments give you a nice atmosphere. The one problem I had with this game was Lara doesn't really evolve into the character she becomes (Comparing to Spec Ops: The Line or Far Cry 3). She just turns into a killer, which isn't a game breaker, but killed some of the immersion. Overall, this game is a must buy.
A well done addition to the series.HWatch06 | April 27, 2013 | See all HWatch06's reviews »
First off I am a huge Tomb Raider fan. Ever since Tomb Raider 1, I've been hooked on these game. Appropriately when I heard this was coming out I was a big worried about the changed. This game really works. The combat is fun, the story is interesting and keeps you locked in. I really enjoyed the new upgrade system added for weapon and ability upgrades. The game balances action with old school tomb raider puzzles perfectly. Its a good fresh addition to the entire series and if you are a tomb raider fan this is an absolute must. The multiplayer isn't anything to extraordinary but it is a nice addition to the overall content of the game. Don't go into this for the mp though. The game is primarily Single Player based.

Lara Croft has been around for almost 20 years but she's never been better than this. You'll be rooting for her every step of the way, actually CARING about her and her story in a way that's never been done so well. The folks over at Crystal Dynamics accomplish this by giving the player tight gunplay, fast and responsive melee combat, a great story, and incredible visuals. a MUST play!
