...if GMG ever get them back in stock. Come on guys, get your oars out. Anyway, the Playstation Plus service is a godsend to those of us who are on a tight budget for games, since it offers the now-legendary "Instant Game Collection" - a selection of 12 or so PS3, PS4 and Vita games that subscribers can download and play for free for as long as their subscription lasts. if the sub runs out, you're locked out of these games, but sub again and they're ready to play! The selection of games is also really good, ranging from (at the time of writing) epic AA titles like Uncharted 3 and Bioshock Infinite to indie classics like Hotline Miami and Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons, plus Vita games on the go such as the acclaimed Gravity Rush and the portable versions of Hotline Miami and Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time, as well as newer PS4 games like Mercenary Kings (though we've had stuff like Reso Gun and Don't Starve in the past few months). Yeah, it's a shame that they made PS+ subscription mandatory for PS4 online multiplayer (though only for retail titles), but overall, the IGC, along with other features such as automatic updates, cloud save storage and generous ale discounts only for PS+ members all add up to a great deal all round for those heavily invested in the Playstation ecosystem.

Absolutely worth it

The most significant advantage to purchasing a PlayStation Plus subscription is access to the Instant Game Collection: an ever-growing selection of PS3 and PS Vita games including the likes of InFamous 2, Hitman: Absolution, and Far Cry 3. You only have access to those games which enter the Collection while you have an active subscription, so the sooner the better! While not all the games will be to everyone's taste, the selection is diverse enough for there to be something for everyone. The value of those games far outweighs the cost of the subscription. Additionally, along with the Instant Game Collection you will receive access to game trials and betas. There really is no downside, apart perhaps from ending up with too many games to play! If you think you'll have time to keep up with the constant flow of games, PlayStation Plus is definitely for you.
