Challenging retro looking puzzle game. Again, one of the things that make me like a game or diss a game is how child friendly it is. And this one is extremely child friendly. Simple concept with many levels of varying difficulty, the cap to it's accessibility to younger players is by it's difficulty rather than content. I do not think anyone under 10years of age could get particularly far in it. But if they do play it, there wouldn't be anything in there that a parent wouldn't want their kids to see. The puzzles are varied and well constructed, and offer hours of fun. The game will pull you in to keep trying despite the engine that is probably best described by bringing calling up memories of gameboy colour. If the soundtrack and story line were a little richer I would give it a higher score.

It's a challenging, Retro-feel game that doesn't tire or become tedious!! With sexy pixel art and an endearing narrative / hero. Everything about it just feels right - can't really explain it any other way! Try it, you will not be disappointed - I'm on my third hour, and don't plan on stopping any time soon!

Difficult retro puzzler

Cubetractor is a difficult retro-style puzzle game revolving around the concept of pulling crates with your robot's tractor beam. This simple concept is enough to keep you busy for hours, as there are multiple levels to complete, each with a separate mix of puzzles and enemies. The interesting thing is that the simple concept of pulling crates is enough to provide interesting challenges throughout all these levels without becoming boring. Crates merge into something new when contacted by other crates, so by controlling which crate hits which, you can influence their properties. If the retro look doesn't scare you off, decide if you like difficult puzzles. This game will make you angry after failing yet another time, but you will keep returning to try again.
