Reviews for Tomb Raider Pack

It doesn't get much more unique than this

I will begin this review by saying that Tomb Raider games (save for the reboot), especially the original ones made be Core Design (the first six) are not for everyone. While combining various aspects of the platformer, action, puzzle and adventure genres, the series (again, with the exception of the 2013 reboot) focuses on exploration and puzzle-solving, with enemy shooting and action sequences in the background. The story can also be considered to not be so important. While significant in the more recent, Crystal Dynamics designed titles and even in the fourth and sixth original instalments, the appeal of the games, in my opinion, comes from the intricate, exquisite level design, immersive atmosphere and fun gameplay. To the best of my knowledge, there isn't a single series out there that can provide a similar experience to the Tomb Raider franchise. I can't exactly explain it, but the feeling you have while exploring a vast, ancient tomb (filled with shotgun ammo, uzis and grenades, and also well-lit; still, ancient...), all alone and vulnerable (and usually scantly clad; the creators knew who their target audience was) is something out of this world. Of course, there are plenty of levels that aren't giant tombs, but cities or factories and abandoned coliseums in the middle of highly populated cities... But anyway, to avoid rambling, I should try to keep this review short. I don't want to forget to mention the games look good for the time they came out, the cutscenes and voice acting are of above average quality, and the soundtrack for each game, while not the best of the best, is still well-made and fits to the game's mood, adding to the immersion (some of the ambient tracks for tr2, tr3 and tr4, the soundtrack for tr6 and tr anniversary and pretty much all of the main themes in the series are highlights). Keep in mind that, with the exception of TR: Angel of Darkness (the sixth one) where the controls are very unresponsive and badly designed, all of the games are satisfying to play and have high replayability value (the first five games might be harder to get into for younger players, but once you become accustomed to the controls you won't regret playing them). The difficulty level is all around high, especially if you want to get all the secrets in certain games or are skilled enough to play without using med-packs or undergoing other challenges (that's likely veteran territory; stay out if you're not confident in your abilities). However, saves and checkpoints (for the newer games) are provided and are more than enough for players who find a particular game too challenging. All in all, if you consider yourself someone who likes to take risks and try new thing, I wholeheartedly recommend this collection to you. Like I said above, it is truly a unique experience.

so worth it!

This is a collection of ALL the tomb raider games... even the terrible ones... and is totally worth the money in the end. if you are un-familiar with the older games, however, you may not enjoy it as much because they do have a different play style that can be aggravating at times if you didn't grow up with the PlayStation. with that being said though this is a great collection of some of the best games ever made. there are thousands of hours of puzzles, and shooting, and exploring to be had and all the time you get to be a bad a** chick who will kick all the bad guys in the face. the best part is that you get the newest remake which puts all the others to shame in my opinion both graphically and the level of the puzzles. can't go wrong with this buy.

I fondly remembered playing all Tomb Raider games back when it was releases for PS1. I'm itching to play them again when SE decided to reboot this franchise, but unable to because most of my PS1 Tomb Raider CD collections are scratched. Now thanks to GMG I'm able to completely enjoy them all in a single pack at an affordable price. Thanks !!

Worth It!

Buying the Tomb Raider (2013) for the price of this bundle is a great deal alone. You get almost all games from 1st, 2nd and 3rd era of Tomb Raider (you'll only be missing the anniversary which is essentially just a remake of the first Tomb Raider). I remember playing the Tomb Raider I and II on my PlayStation and It was very hard. The controls and the puzzles were hard for me that time when I was still a kid. The controls are greatly improved with the newer Tomb Raider games. This is a Classic that you should not miss! Especially of this is on sale, there's no excuse not to get it.

I have at least played every Tomb Raider since release and having them all again in a nice affordable pack is music to my years...ears*. x) Now older games are graphically outdated obviously, but if you can put yourself in the mindset of that time, the experience is truly remarkable. Play it back to back if you have to--it will feel amazing. Hard to review each one specifically, but all are really solid games. Some are weak in a few areas but each one has definite strong points from the start. The latest Tomb Raider should EASILY seal the deal.

All the Tomb Raider games in one great package

This package contains all the Tomb Raider games that have been released on the PC. From the 90s with the Tomb Raider series that started the franchise are Tomb Raider 1-6 that are also released for the Playstation. Then follow after with a better graphic engine are the introduction to the two of the trilogy, Legend and Underworld that continues the story on Lara Croft. Even the downloadable title, The Guardian of Light is also here, a great spinoff from the original gameplay and style but the core element still persist and definitely a great solid game. lastly, the 2013 Tomb Raider, a reboot to the series that tells the story of young Lara Croft's first adventure and how she became the Tomb Raider today.

Just simply do yourself a favour and pick this collection up, especially if it's on sale. There are so many games here! Now a lot of the older games are really similar so that may put you of this pack they are still all really solid games. There were then three games made more recently: anniversary, legend, and underworld...but anniversary is unfortunately missing here for some reason but that's not too bad as that was essentially just a remake of the original tomb raider. Why i mentioned these three games though is because they are the best of all the tomb raiders so I guess that does make it a shame that anniversary isn't here but if you've played the original (which you should do when you get this pack anyway) then it isn't really missed. The newest tomb raider game isn't my favourite however it is still a refreshing change to the series so it is worth your time playing. There is also the guardian of light included in this pack which is another refreshing change. So if I haven't persuaded you to already then GET THESE GAMES!
