Epic turn-around!

The developers of the Dungeon Siege series listened to the crowd! And that's how DS2 came to life. After hearing that the first game was too linear and offered little to no replayability, the created a game that's no longer linear and offers tons of replay value. The game still has the same awesome feel as the first instalment, with a great story and a lot of things to do. You can still command a party of heroes that you choose throughout the game, you still battle small monsters and epic bosses, and you still discover secrets and dungeons. A great improvement, considering the linearity of the first game.

This game reminded me how much I didn't like DS3

I have to give it a high rating because of what enjoyment I got out of it for its time. Not often can I go back to a game this old and still enjoy it. Unlike Dungeon Siege 3, this has an archer! I love archers and playing as an archer is satisfying as it should be in a top-down style RPG. Dungeon Crawler fans should feel right at home with this game. The graphics aren't as pretty as modern dungeon crawlers, but the silky smooth gameplay and battles make up for the experience.

Mark in RPG history

The RPG scene has been growing for quite some time now, but only great games make the genre really rise. Dungeon Siege 2 is one of those games. It is a somewhat old school RPG and it does things right. The exploration, the various loot and gear and the constant town visiting are one of the many things that RPG fans are hoping to find in an RPG game. The story is very good written and the characters are well designed. Along your character you can also recruit party members to aid you in your journey trough out the game. The towns that you will encounter usually serve as a hub for meeting, getting supplies and saving. The game is a bit old and the graphics are not expected to be very good, but despite that I would strongly recommend it to any RPG fan out there

Dungeon Siege II was the firs RPG game i have played, and it made me to love the games of this genre. This game have lots of similarities to Diablo 2 and I could not say which one is better. If you have enjoyed playing Diablo series, this must be a crime, not to this Legendary game. The game graphics are not the best not, but on it's time it was stunning, gameplay is very nice and enjoyable to play, story is one of best i have seen in any game.

Best one of the two Dungeon Siege games.

Dungeon Siege 1 was great, and Dungeon Siege 2 does nothing but improve on it. A talent system like what we saw in Diablo 2 and an item system that is similar, but with more emphasis on party play with each character having special skills that can be activated for tremendous bursts of damage. This is one of my favourite games of all time and the only downside to the Steam version is that they removed multiplayer due to Zonematch being shut down ages ago. This even removed LAN connecting, but the single player game is easily one of the best games you may ever play if you're a big RPG gamer.

Better than the first and third

The first Dungeon Siege was like a revelation for many gamers. It made role playing genre more accessible for action gamers and hack-and-slash more interesting for role-players. The follow-up game, Dungeon Siege II earned the same status of a worthy classic for repeating the strengths of the previous game and fixing some of its weaknesses. Unfortunately many fans of the series didn't fully appreciate the third game in the series, so the second Dungeon Siege remains the ultimate example of a Dungeon Siege game. With improved graphics and streamlined gameplay it's more modern than the first part and free of problems of Dungeon Siege III.
