When I first came across Borderlands 2, it was at a PC cafe. Playing through, I was, needless to say, captivated. Unlike the first game where you begin in a desert, the world of Borderlands 2 starts you off in an iced, arctic-like region. The colors of this new beginning was enough to keep me playing for hours.
If you've played Borderlands 1, you will be happy to find that this second game enhances multi-player, player versus player, and focuses on the plot. You will find out more about your past characters in Borderlands 1, as they may even become your allies that fight beside you in Borderlands 2. You learn much more about characters you've met in the first game.
After trying this game once, I was hooked and immediately looked for the first and second game. I now own them both, and I can honestly say I am not disappointed.
Waiting for a complete edition? Then this is it.InsaneHien | Jan. 5, 2014 | See all InsaneHien's reviews »
One of the best games of 2012 returns with a (sort of) complete edition. This package grants you Borderlands 2, the 4 DLC campaigns, Mechromancer and Psycho pack, the first level cap increase (Ultimate Vault Hunters Upgrade Pack), Collector's Edition pack, and the Creature Slaughterdome add-on. The add-ons that were not included are the second level cap increase, Headhunter packs, and the extra cosmetic skins. Not all of the DLC is in this package, but it includes the most important ones.
If you have not bought the game yet, get it. Even better when it's on sale.

This game improves upon Borderlands in every way. Sure, it looks and feels the same but you're getting new characters, new guns and new ways to blow the crap out of your enemies!
The gunplay still feels spot on, I prefer to snipe so hitting those long range head shots is easy yet challenging enough to keep it engaging. The new characters also make for some interesting fun! Getting that new skill for them is rewarding and fun to play around with.
The backup characters (esp. Tiny Tina) are downright hilarious! It's never a dull moment with this game. You're either having fun popping heads or laughing your ass off!
All in all. This game is a must have for any Borderlands fan or even for someone completely new to the series. You really don't need to play the first game to enjoy it but I suggest getting the first one as well, it's so cheap now!

With this game of the year package you get all the dlc and the base game. sadly doesn't come with the characters but thats not the best part anyways. if you were unfortunate enough to not be able to buy the game the first time i will say this. This is not ground breaking in anyway. But it is more than fun to play. The gameplay is so interesting with a nice story to fall back on. With buddies to play with, it's get even better. Just the thrill of defeating your foes and trying to scramble to them faster than your friends, is just amazing. It's definitely a good deal. DLCs are more than decent. This is the time to buy it!
Essential package for Borderlands 2... for nowlok0812 | Oct. 17, 2013 | See all lok0812's reviews »
This is the must get package for Borderlands 2 for now since it includes all the story content DLCs, two additional playable classes, first part of the level increase, as well as some cosmetic items in the game. The game itself continues from the first one and playstyle remains the same. You are one of the new vault hunters that are trying to open the vault for riches and you are tasked to go through missions from different NPC as the story progress. If you have enjoyed the first game where dungeon crawling + loot huntings meets FPS then think no more as the formula of this entry stays the same and you will continue your vault hunting adventure. Definitely must get as the contents within the package provides endless amount of hours of fun especially playing it with friends.

First of all, borderlands 2 has surpassed the original borderlands in multiple ways. The soundtrack is gripping and appropriate for the areas you encounter. The areas you explore are larger in size and it allows for more exploration. The enemies are without a doubt, harder to defeat and it forces you to venture out and level up before moving forward in the game. With all the extra skins and modifications you can use, this makes exploring for upgrades all the more worth it. Last on the list is the multitude of weapons included, which really set the bar from the first game. Starting with the game itself and not dipping into the DLC, allows for multiple hours of fun and strategy as you level up, upgrade your gear and ultimately, defeat Handsome Jack. Borderlands 2 has a consistency of keeping the player interested and not just sending the player from point a to point b as the first game did. There is a definite increase in creativity with the characters that were created for this game and it ultimately sealed the deal for many. For the price of $60 being asked, this game is without a doubt, worth the purchase. From making grenades doing the unlikely, to getting the chance of blowing stuff up with the record setting number of weapons included, this game has it all.

Not only is Borderlands one of the best games ever but the sequel is even better in every possible way. Gameplay is better and graphics are stunning. Humor is gold and content is massive. Guns are actually different now instead of just reskins like in the last one. Claptrap is one of the best game characters ever and he'll keep you laughing for the entire game. And with this being the GOTY version, you get the game plus all expansion to date so this is a terrific offer for those that haven't bought this game yet. Enjoy the open world, loot filled, gun blazing insanity that Borderlands 2 has to offer.

This is Borderlands the way it was meant to be played folks! This game of the year edition of borderlands is everything anyone can ask for. It has the 4 campaign add tons, which includes tons of new devastating guns and deep, expansive stories of their own. The two character packs which vastly increases replayability of the game, especially with the upgrade pack that increases your level cap and introduces the new ultra rare pearl weapons. Includes multiple customization packs to truly make your character your own. This game sincerely deserves game of the year status. Get it you won't regret it!
Amazing content, ok pricingQwertyfour | Oct. 8, 2013 | See all Qwertyfour's reviews »
Borderlands 2 is an amazing game but this price point might not be worth it. Borderlands can very often go below 15 dollars so with this price you are paying 45 USD for the extra stuff. Right now, that is 4 DLC and new characters and a level cap increase along with a bit more of content. For 45 more dollars, that is hardly worth it. Wait for a sale. If you're new to Borderlands, it is worth noting that this game is only really fun with friends, much like Payday. If you play without friends then this game is only mediocre at best, and is just a gun grinding game. Overall, watch out for this edition, but wait for a more reasonable price point.

Have you missed out on Borderlands 2, uncertain after the first game, or just waiting for the game of the year to come out? Well, your wait is worth it! This is the near perfect bundle for Borderlands 2, offering the fantastic main campaign, all of the campaign DLCs, the extra characters, and more! If you're still on the fence, why would you want to play this?
Well for starters, it's a game with loads and loads of content, but it's also rich with over the top action, loads of humor, and a great mix between shooting stuff and RPG style level progression and customization. If there's a gun you've ever dreamed of wielding, it's almost guaranteed to be in the game. Grenades that fire out like fireworks that then heal you? Sure! Revolvers that double fire bullets that burn, explode, or even shock? You bet! Rocket Launchers that fire like a nuke? Sure, enjoy your craters!
While the plot itself is relatively typical, the unique and hilarious characters and the means with which you progress the story make it a delight to play through with friends. Speaking of which, with up to 4 player co-op you can make it a party and really get the most out of the game as you team up against super bosses or just enjoy the regular campaign together, complimenting each other with your chosen vault hunter's abilities. Plus, even after you finish the main story, there's plenty left to do with loads of DLC campaigns and extra difficulty modes to replay the whole thing on.
Another thing I appreciate about the game is that it controls really nicely. While you have your general key edit options, the game not only handles the keyboard and mouse very well, but does a great job with controllers, giving you plenty of options whether you're a seasoned PC gamer or prefer holding the controls right in your hands.
There is so much packed into this bundle that the review could go on for a while, so let me make it simple. This is the definitive version of Borderlands 2. Buying all of this separately would set you back at least $80 or so, so buying it at $60 on top of GMG's own promotions is an excellent bargain for such a high quality product. If you love shooters and wanted something unique from the crowd, this is it, hand down!
