This game is a good strategy game , but it is similar to Theatre of war 1. Gameplay is very similar but not the same. Also , this game has got a better campaign , new units , improved gameplay and realistic graphics as expected. Attention to graphics is high , but this can result in low FPS. This game is not for casual gamers that want an easy strategy game. Game is really serious and you will need to use your brain to win the game. Sounds are as perfect as graphics , there's nothing to say about them... All in all, Theatre of War 2 Africa 1943 is a good choice for die hard strategy gamers , but not a good choice for beginners.
As good as strategy games used to besaojoao | Oct. 7, 2013 | See all saojoao's reviews »
Short version: Theatre of War 2: Africa 1943 is a good strategy game, even if a bit tough. Even better with the Centauro Expansion.
Longer version: The Theatre of War series is not suited for casual gamers who want to play a light and easy strategy game. It's not as demanding as the Hearts of Iron series as well. It's a great and visually attractive game, which can be a challenge even for veteran strategists. I would call it a successor of the strategy games of the 16 bit period, which demanded much attention and dedication from gamers but offered huge satisfaction from brain-boiling intellectual exercise. If you remember this kind of games and would like to play something similar to this kind of games, but don't want to return to the visuals and sound of the previous epoch, you should check the Theatre of War series. Most likely you will not look back.
