Reviews for Watch_Dogs: Deluxe Edition
Over-hyped, but great nonethelessRGsSeveredHand | June 16, 2014 | See all RGsSeveredHand's reviews »
It is nice to see the "Ubisoft Formula" is more discreet in WatchDogs which is good for the game as it feels less restricting than in other Ubisoft games such as Assassin's Creed. Recently there has been controversy over a graphical downgrade from the trailer shown at E3. From my experience this seems to be true, however, WatchDogs is still a visually stunning game. The hacking mechanics also give a sense of real power over the city of Chicago. Ubisoft has also succeeded in making a rich and dark story which is exciting throughout. The bonus content that comes with the deluxe edition was also good.
The annoyance is the fact that the port to PC isn't that great - if it was I'm sure reviews of the game would be higher. It seems that many people are currently struggling to run Watch_Dogs. Though in the game's favor a lot of the people complaining have insufficient specs. On a gtx 660 I can run the game on a mix of medium and high settings at about 45 fps, which I was happy with. My only qualm with it is that when I later ran the game with two gtx 660 the results were the same as with one card. This seems to be a common issue as some people with even the highest spec rigs cannot max out this game.
In conclusion, good graphics, gameplay, story and if you have a beefy enough computer, buy it!
Possibly the best game from Ubisoft yetmuppenz | May 7, 2014 | See all muppenz's reviews »
Excellent storyline, open world environment with great side-missions and challenges to complete.
Would play again 10/10.
