The original game was a fantastic teaching tool with a little bit of fun added in, and while Rocksmith 2014 Edition is once again a great guitar teaching tool, it has a whole lot more fun included this time around. This fun factor blurs the lines somewhat as it is way more enjoyable this time around, or at least it feels that way and you may not consider it a guitar-teaching tool at all, which in itself is a testament to the development crew.

Nice new features, but some flaws...

If you've playd Rocksmith 1 before, you'll be amazed by the tons of new features that the new game packs. First of all, the menus are now easly browsable with the mouse. No more spending 30 minutes in a menu to play a song. The other major improvement is that the game is more demanding regarding rythm accuracy. Rocksmith 1 was too forgiving on this and allow to play a note later than it should be. This has been fixed and you really need to be more accurate. The guitarcade games are accessible without having to unlock them: genius! They are also more interesting and less basic than the previous ones. Session mode is very promising, but I didn't have the chance to use it long enough.
