Reviews for Assassin's Creed® Liberation HD
A Great HD Port of a Good Assassin's Creed GameEbo | Feb. 4, 2014 | See all Ebo's reviews »
Other developers, take note, this is how you do a proper HD port of a game. Much better textures, improved draw distance, more NPCs around town, smoother animations, all in all a great package. On the downside it could have had a few more graphical options.
Now it's not all sunshine and rainbows, Liberation has its issues with more then a few glitches that could potentially result in the failure of missions. Thankfully there are checkpoints everywhere so you'll never lose more then 1-2 minutes of progress if say, you get stuck in a tree or Aveline decides jump in the wrong direction.
Story is interesting, although you really have to work (gather collectibles, letters) in order to fill in some of the blanks (which there are a lot).
Overall this is a fine deal, not the best Assassin's Creed to date but definitely one you need to have in your collection. Plus you don't get to play as a kick-ass female assassin in many other games.

This is the best Assassins creed franchise game, the part that you control a woman is good. That shows that not only men are strong and do the hard work, but the woman can do it as well. The game is good. Story is very entertaining. The game is really interesting, the problem is the missing multi player option. All assassins creed are good and liberations are also good. It is really worth every dollar you pay for it.

This is a HD re-release of the Assassin's Creed game that was released exclusively for the Playstation Vita alongside Assassin's Creed 3. Generally this is a good port of the game to PC, the controls for the game have been translated into the controls that you would expect from a PC Assassin's Creed game. The graphics have also been updated to take advantage for the more power available on PC and it looks good on a good PC. Ubisoft have also increased the world density of the game meaning that there are more civilians and plants around the world. The main downside is that they could of updated the game more to feel like Black Flag does in terms of controls and general game feel but apart from that this is well worth buying if you're a fan of the Assassin's Creed series
A decent HD portSganotak | Jan. 16, 2014 | See all Sganotak's reviews »
This is an HD Port of the PS Vita game that was released last year. Luckily they didn't just stop at updating the visuals but they also added new missions, enhanced the battle mechanics so that it feels more like the other Assassin's Creed games. They also fixed some technical issues found in the handheld version.
However it is still a streamlined Assassin's Creed so expect a lot less content and overall game length than the home system/PC games. Aveline is a surprisingly charismatic protagonist and it's good to experience the life of an Assassin from a female perspective. The setting is magnificent...18th Century New Orleans is one of the most interesting places the series has ever visited, and it's even more impressive with the updated visual as the world is now more alive and populated. The game also focuses more on stealth than combat, featuring a disguise system which you can use to fool your enemies.
If you're new to the Assassin's Creed franchise or are looking for a good action adventure game, you should probably play the other games first. If you're a fan of the series and want to experience a new interesting side story in the Assassin's Creed Universe, Liberation HD is the game for you
