Reviews for Counter Strike: Source

My favorite CS

This is my favorite CS game. I can't give you any explanation about why this is my favorite Counter Strike game, I think it's nostalgia. A lot of hours played with friends in the past, a lot of crazy maps (really, a lot), and even countless rounds against bots, just because it rules! Graphically it's not like one of those modern shooters, and the sound effects are quite basic, but whatever, right? It keeps you entertained for hours. The only bad part about it is that is very hard to find a server where people are not ranting each other in a bad way, or saying things like 'I'm going to ban you' for no reason, or even covering someone who can see through the walls just because they want to win... sad but true. But hey, you'll find good players and you'll have a great experience!

The best Counter-Strike in the whole series

There's nothing much to say because the title itself says pretty much everything. Beside the fact that the game is pretty old, it's definitely the best in the whole series. Having the classic original maps as the official ones, being modified so they can fit to Source Engine actually, was pretty well done. I liked the game from the very first moment I launched it til I closed it last time I played it. A big advantage of it is that it's pretty easy to mod and since I am a modder, that's very important to me (and other modders as well). With some custom mods, you're golden. Sadly, the only thing that really annoys me are the default weapon animations. They haven't been much modified when you compare them with the ones from Counter-Strike 1.6. However, mods are the ones that make it fun at this point as well. You can even get custom animations for default weapons (if you really want to) but it's very usual that you're gonna find high quality custom models compiled for the game's use. This game, beside a few bugs (which don't lower your experience with it), is very well done and my 91/100 score is very well deserved.

Couldn't get enough!

I couldn't stop playing this game! The multiplayer is what got a hold of me. They have so much different things you could do, with the diversity of game types from Classic, to TDM, jailbreak, parkour, CTF, need I say more? Tons of hours will be spent into the game... which is a wonderful thing!

I think every man on the world knows this game. Counter strike source is excellent multiplayer game that still has many players. You can have a lot of fun with this game. There are a lot of weapons, too. But, one of best things in the game is its graphics that is awesome and can be run by every computer. This game has many players. So, you will not be bored while playing this awesome game. If you haven't bought this game, do it now, you will have a lot of fun hours !

A game worth more than it costs

This game was and is really great and even now I sometimes play it with my friends. Im not that good at it but sometimes luck offers to help out a little in this game. New players have a better aim on the first tryes as strange as it can get, but it really does happen quite often that new players end up quite good for the first matches they try. Its a fun game which offers a good variety of guns and a good way to spend your free time unless you dislike action games. I didnt play this game much because it doesnt require teamwork, what I mean is one man could kill a whole team even if it was a game made out of two teams where one had one good player and the other one had more than ten players though not as good, in this game everything depends on your skill and the speed of your reaction. It a has a big variety of mods so you wont get bored of it the first day that I can assure. If you have friends who play Counter-Strike Source aswell, youll likely enjoy it more than an average player playing without any friends does.

Great Multiplayer with a twist of terrorism.

First off, CS:S uses the source engine and has HL² -like graphics so it looks great. It also is one of the best multiplayer experiences on the market right now because of its highly addictive gameplay that can be played for countless hours making it a great triquel to 1.6 and a classic. Counter-Strike:Source comes with a mod tool so fans can make custom maps which is a nice touch for something different than the classic maps such as de_dust and cs_italy. The game has many guns that are realistic which feel and shoot fine. Though there are many ups to CS:S it requires a lot of skill to be good at it like another other FPS (having a good headset helps also because audio is a big up on enemies) but even skill can't help you when your up against a hacker which can be common. Bots can help you gain skill offline if you don't have internet at the time which is needed to download and play the game because of Steam. CS:S also has a few glitches as another other game with its bots getting stuck and laggy hitboxes at times that leave you saying WTFBBQ L33TWALLHAX! Even though CS:S has its few glitches it is still a must have FPS for another online gamer.

Great game, although hard and overshadowed by the sequel

CS Source is a very good multiplayer shooter which still has a strong player base. The game is essentially CS 1.6 with improved graphics and effects and uses the source engine very well. Although the game is very good, it is a bit redundant since Global Offensive ( the sequel) has been released. Global Offensive has made lots of changes to make the CS experience more accessible, but I know that some hardcore CS players do not like Global Offensive very much. If you're new to the series, I would recommend Global Offensive since it has made improvements to the CS formula and is more accessible for new players. CS Source is still good though, but the fact remains that newbies to Counterstrike would likely get hammered by veterans who dislike Global Offensive.

Best Counter Strike!

Every gamer knows this game , counter strike. Basically , in Counter strike you kill enemies , rescue hostages and plant bombs to earn money. Then , you can buy new weapons and equipment. With better equipment and a good team, you can win the game. I think this version of the game is the best. Because it has got many bug fixes , improved graphics, gameplay and voice. Also this game has got many multiplayer servers and there is too many people playing this game. You won't get bored while playing Counter Strike Source , if you like FPS genre.
