Reviews for Counter Strike: Condition Zero
1.6, expanded but 1.6PlayTyrant | May 8, 2015 | See all PlayTyrant's reviews »
This game is nearly the same as Counter Strike 1.6, with expanded content. I didn't spend too much time playing it because I jumped to Source and this one was kind of put aside for me. It's not that it's bad though, it just didn't caught my attention. I have it and I didn't spend more than 1 hour playing it... but if I was to buy 1.6, I would probably go and buy this one. Same game, more content!

Counter Strike: Condition Zero is a great game on the Counter Strike series, with new and improved maps, the gameplay experience is great for all the gamers who enjoy First Person Shooter kind of games. The quality of the game is excellent, the graphics are very good but could be better, and the sounds are the only thing that let me down, because they used the same as the older games from the series. Anyway I still would recommend this game to all the FPS gamers and mainly to who used to play past Counter Strike, because the experience is great and similar to the other ones. Overall, a really good old game that is a classic!

If you liked the original Counter-Strike, you should try Counter-Strike: Condition Zero. It adds new campaign, new modes for your skirmishes, and missions for single player gameplay. The game which initially was (and still is mostly focused on) multiplayer experience, now becomes an interesting option for single player gamers, which can be enjoyed without playing with other people. Together with Condition Zero, Counter-Strike becomes a perfect example of how a simple mod can turn into a fully-fledged separate product, which will eventually become a start of its own series of games. If you are familiar with Counter-Strike: Source or Counter-Strike: Global Operations, try the originals to see where it all started.

this may be the weirdest one in the series but the story is actually quite fun to play with especially getting the gold medal on every mission on every difficulty. it's more like a patch for 1.6 as it adds new skins , maps and some updates in other maps
A slightly upgraded version of CS1.6, but CSS & CSGO are bettermugaro | June 18, 2014 | See all mugaro's reviews »
It added bots, which was nice if you couldn't play online (which was me for quite a while). Some new guns, new maps, slightly better graphics. However, once Source came out, this was viewed as obsolete. It's still pretty fun. It has a lot of new maps that hadn't been ported over to CSS last I checked. It also has a single player campaign, which is kind of fun to play on but there are honestly better single player FPS campaigns out there. Definitely pick up the valve pack, all of these games are awesome.

When they developed this game it seemed like they couldn't decide whether or not they wanted to make a good single player/co-op experience or an actually competitive death-match game with good gun mechanics. The game design remains true to the original, Counter-Strike 1.6, but the artwork and gun-play held it back. You'll notice upon playing that the M4 Carbine looks a lot more cartoony and so do the models of the players - it is as if they were afraid of sharp edges in the artwork department. It felt like you were shooting a nerf gun half the time. However, they did implement fun new mechanics that weren't previously seen - and interesting new maps as well. This is more like an expansion and what seemed like a test of what they could get away with. If you want to see Counter-Strike with liberties taken in the design process - or you'd like a pleasant single player experience in the same universe, this is the game for you.
A flawed successor...but still a great game.Shaheed_Jamal | Jan. 21, 2014 | See all Shaheed_Jamal's reviews »
Many were hoping that this game would be the proper sequel to the first CS game. It came up short, but what it lacks in quality, it makes up for in quantity. And there is a lot of quantity in this game. Graphics: The game looks marginally better than the original, with the sprites having been updated to look more realistic. 8/10 Sound: The sound is also more marginally better than the original with better uncompressed sounds. 8/10 Gameplay: The gameplay is almost identical to the original. WHICH IS A VERY GOOD THING! 9/10 Lifespan: The game has online matches, and offline campaign and a story based deleted scenes which isn't too bad at all. 10/10

This FPS is nice to have fun with your friends. There are a lot of maps, some funs (a swimming pool, a ranch...) and some competitiveness (like de_dust2, the most famous one). There are different goals, like planting a bomb, taking down the entire enemy team... The solo is also fun, the bots (non-player characters controlled by your computer) will talk to you and cooperate to take down enemies and reach the goals. You can have fun doing 1vs10 bots for example, and challenges like that ! Don't forget to play online, there is a huge community playing this game, creating maps and models for characters and weapons. With this much possibilities, fun never ends !
